Yikes! The fact that this place and Zagat are even mentioned together is frightening. We had been put on to this place by a friend and wow do I know not to trust their palate. We came around 8:30 on a Saturday night and definitely had high expectations after seeing that there were a number of people also eating there. We sat at the bar and had excellent service, but that’s where it all stops. The drinks were heavily mediocre, we started with a Miche and a Strawberry habanero Marg. After getting our drinks and seeing how others were made we were kinda taken aback at almost everything being premade/mixed that only a few drinks we saw served the whole time actually required a bottle being taken out. We ordered Guacamole, tacos with elote and a carnitas with rice tamale, we waited a long time for anything to be brought (even chips and salsa weren’t served until our meal came) when the food arrived we dove right in I started with my Steak taco which was pretty good, I was only able to muster a bite of the “pastor” and the barbacoa which were both highly unenjoyable as was the elote... let’s just say I’ve had canned creamed corn that was better and tasted more like a real elote. My wife’s tamale was just wet semi cooked masa and prices of pork fat/skin with very little meat. She had about 3 bites and moved it away and the rice was decent But salty. Luckily we ordered frozen house margs for our last drink and right before the food came it was the saving grace but definitely not brag worthy. Overall I’m not sure I would ever comeback for the type of price we paid for our meal even with them taking off the tamale for the terrible selection of filling we were at almost $70 out the door for 4 drinks tacos and elote. This was meant to be an early gift for Christmas from the wife who wanted to treat us and it has now become an experience we won’t forget but for the...
Read moreI am a regular customer at this restaurant and usually enjoy coming here, but I feel it’s important to share some concerns about the current manager’s conduct that have negatively impacted my dining experience. Unfortunately, I have observed unprofessional behavior from her on more than one occasion.
On a prior visit, I witnessed the manager arguing with the host directly in front of guests who were waiting to be seated. It created an uncomfortable atmosphere and reflected poorly on the restaurant’s professionalism.
More recently, I experienced something even more concerning. While dining, I saw the manager at the host stand openly engaging in physical displays of affection with her spouse. The behavior was not just casual, but inappropriate for a professional environment — including kissing and allowing her spouse to touch her in a way that was vulgar and disruptive to guests. Witnessing this in a dining establishment completely ruined my appetite and left me questioning whether I wanted to return.
What makes this even more disappointing is the contrast with the previous manager. She was always welcoming, engaging with guests, and represented the restaurant in a positive and professional manner. Replacing her with the current manager has been, in my opinion, the restaurant’s biggest mistake, as it has directly diminished the quality of the guest experience.
As a loyal customer, I truly value this restaurant, which is why I feel compelled to bring this to your attention. This type of conduct is unacceptable in any workplace, but especially in a restaurant where guests come expecting a professional and welcoming environment. I hope appropriate steps will be taken to ensure that management reflects the high standards guests associate with...
Read moreWild Salsa, welcome back to Fort Worth. Your absence was felt, and it’s damn good to see you rejoining the lineup of downtown dining options. I was sad to see you go, but now that you’re back, let’s talk about the food tonight.
We started off with the ceviche—a dish that was served absolutely beautifully. Fresh, vibrant, and plated with an eye for detail, it was the star of the evening.
For the main course, I went with the "Wild Tacos," a trio of street-style tacos that let you mix and match from their menu. I opted for the steak, grilled chipotle shrimp, and mahi mahi. Each had its own charm, but the chipotle shrimp was the clear winner. The salsa verde, with its tangy bite, paired with the pickled red onions and shrimp in a way that made me sit up and take notice.
My dining companion chose the Grilled Mahi Mahi. The flavors hit all the right notes, though the fish was a bit overcooked. But hey, they’re just getting back in the swing of things, so I’ll chalk it up to a learning curve. The taste, though, was exactly where it needed to be.
And a nod to Chloe behind the bar—she served up a spicy mezcal margarita that was as balanced as it was bold. I'm happy for your return, Wild Salsa. May you stick around this time....
