UPDATE 1/18: Apparently Marriott Reservations was the broker in the middle who did not do their job of processing the refund The Worthington submitted. I will upgrade the rating to 2 stars but I will never stay at this hotel again due to the fact that the dealings we had with that awful manager at the check in desk. He was horribly rude and did not care we had driven 4 hrs and had to place to stay because of their screw up. He offered no help at all. I also didnāt appreciate Joy never returning our call. It was us that had to do all the leg work to get our $ back. Thank you to the manager that responded to our issue.
UPDATE 1/6: I contacted the front Office manager, Joy about a refund as directed by the manager. She told me she processed our refund and that I needed to check with Amex. Four weeks later and still no refund. My husband called her last week and left a voicemail for status and she never called him back. We are disputing the amount with AMEX. I am done dealing with this hotel, and I will never stay here again.
I have stayed here several times and had good experiences until today. We had an emergency and had to check in a day late. I called Thursday to tell them we would be a day late and I understood we would have to pay the full price which I booked thru Amex. I even received an email from the person I spoke to, Suzan Isik about our reservation after the conversation. I was told my reservation was noted. We arrived at the hotel today to find they gave away our prepaid room and there were no rooms left. I even tried to use the online early check in system on Friday and it told me my confirmation # was invalid. The manager we dealt with at the desk today was no help whatsoever and said the system automatically cancelled it and there was nothing he could do. I then contacted Amex and had them contact the hotel to explain the situation and they were unwilling to offer any refunds. So the hotel basically took our $ and then turned around and sold our room a second time. They made double the $ and had no problem screwing us over. Had someone done their job and held our room as discussed we would not be in this mess. It was as if I pre-paid for a meal at a restaurant I wasnāt going to be allowed to eat! I am disputing the entire $731 with Amex now and they will side with me. This is an outrageous and incredibly shady business decision on this hotelās part. I have never been treated so horribly by a business in my life. We had to find another hotel for $600 a night because of what this hotel did us. I totally understand hotel policies but there is nothing we could have done differently to save ourselves. We expected the people we reached out to for help to do their jobs! I will never stay at this hotel again and I will tell everyone I know about this atrocious customer service. You have permanently...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was a nice hotel. The rooms were spacious. There is a mini fridge in the room, nicely hidden. They follow the "water conservation" model. So, if you want fresh sheets, you have to strip your bed. The housekeeping did a nice job with our room. We had an in-room thermostat. However, due to the extreme heat outside it was difficult to keep the room cool. The window itself was VERY warm from the outside heat. I kept the shades closed during the day to help. We had a south-facing room, which contributed to the heat, but the view made up for it (see the downtown area. The opposite was true for the common areas. It was VERY cold. The lounge area, halls, everywhere else except the room was extremely cold. The have an indoor pool. In my opinion, it was for functional use and not leisure. I didn't bother getting in the pool. [Side note: in one of the Google pics for this hotel, someone uploaded a picture of an outdoor pool. That must've been by mistake because there is no outdoor pool.]
I ate in their Hacienda Breakfast dining room. They had a breakfast buffet. I went twice. The 1st time, I ordered off the menu because I could not see paying $25 for food sitting out like that, plus not really getting what I wanted. They only had pork and I don't eat pork. I was able to get chicken sausage from the menu. I got the buffet the 2nd time because it was our departure day, and I didn't want to take up too much time.
There is a bar / restaurant attached (or within) the hotel. I got wine from there. The grilling food smelled wonderful. There is a little seating area outside.
One day, I went out there to eat my lunch, and the hostess (?) brought me a cup of water, lid and straw. I thought that was so kind, and thoughtful.
The hotel is walking distance from the Sundance Square downtown. I went there just about every day, mostly for the Starbucks in the mornings.
Our last night there, my husband and I caught a movie at the rooftop theater. I didn't realize the theater area was completely self enclosed. Our first night there we hung out in the "lounge area" of the theater. None of the staff made an issue of it. That was nice of them. We had no clue. LOL.
My husband was there for a business conference. He had no complaints of the facility except for: the cold and no internet, unless you pay for it or are a bonvoy member. He remembered he was a bonvoy member the 2nd day, and they got him set up. The hotel staff were nice, including the valet. My husband had a different experience... I'll sum it up as microagressions.
I don't have pictures because I had nothing else to contribute than what everyone else had, except for this night shot...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis hotel is absolutely beautiful and conveniently located in downtown Fort Worth. However, I am knocking it down to two stars because of my personal experience at this location. While visiting for work, I had an extremely rude encounter with the woman checking me in. I didnāt have my government ID on me but I was checking in with my director who had already checked in and confirmed she was receiving the government rate. (Please note this is the first time Iāve been asked to provide my ID despite booking through Concur and paying with a work issued AMEX). Despite my attempt to provide other means of identification including work email, pay stub, or W2, this woman was unyielding and accusatory. She kept insinuating that I was trying to get my āfriendāsā government rate even after I showed her my employee profile on my phone along with the āfriendā she was accusing me of mooching off of. At some point this woman, for whatever reason, stopped addressing me and spoke only to my director about what I needed to do to correct the rate with my room. I found this incredibly rude as I was standing right there and she could have spoken directly to me. Instead she chose to belittle me in front of my employer as if I did not deserve the acknowledgment. The woman also made it a point to mention I would be locked out of my room the next day if I didnāt provide the identification as soon as possible. Mind you this all occurred at around midnight after a long flight. It took so much restraint not to express what I was really feeling as I was here for work and in front of my boss. That experience was disrespectful and absolutely unacceptable. Then I end up with a room with a leaky ceiling. This didnāt bother me as much as I didnāt spend much time in my room other than to sleep for two nights. When I was finally able to pinpoint the source of the leak it was late in my second night and I didnāt want to go through the hassle of contacting the front desk after what I had been through the previous night. Although, I did report the leak to the staff along with my experience at check in as I was checking out. The two individuals I worked with while checking out were like night and day to my first staff encounter. Had I not encountered that initial woman I would have undoubtedly left five stars even with the leaky roof, but she really left me with an unsettling feeling I could not shake. This encounter could have been handled so differently and did not need to go down this road of disrespect, but it did. This would be a great place to stay if you are able to steer clear...
