This mall has been getting quite a few new places lately with all the construction going on and somehow this one fell through the cracks on me. I was just doing a search for something to eat one day and it popped up in my feed. My first thought was another barbecue place in the area that's actually pretty close. I took the time to check out their menu and read the reviews for it. Overall it sounded pretty good. My youngest got home from work last night around dinner time and we were both hungry. I mentioned a burger at first and while going over places I mentioned that I kind of wanted to stop by this place. They responded that they were always up for barbecue. When we arrived there were quite a few people sitting at tables and a sign that said to find a seat and get ready for some great food. I probably paraphrased that. We grabbed a table and a short time later a young lady came to our table to give us menus. I told her we already had a good idea of what we wanted so she took our order. We had determined to go kind of simple and share and decided to get the nachos. Being Thursday they had a special on the pork nachos for $8 rather than $12. I said that was great since it was the pork nachos that we really wanted this time. I also got a side order of onion rings to go with it. We knew beforehand that we would probably have leftovers and we were good for it. My kid also ordered a vanilla cream soda. She bought her drinks out and the soda was fantastic. So far we were having some great first impressions. It was only a short wait till our food was brought out. The nachos were on a good-sized plate loaded up with pulled pork cheese and some barbecue sauce. It was also sour cream and jalapenos on the side. The onion rings were very large and panko coated and cooked perfectly. Unlike many places they didn't feel really greasy. On their own everything had great flavor. We also decided to sample the three types of barbecue sauce they supply on the table. My kid really liked the honey sweet which has some really great flavors but just not my preferred. The other two are spicier. One brings a touch of heat which is really good and the other one is fairly hot. I used a mixture of the two on everything. This was the first time I've had onion rings that I was happy eating without salt. The sauce really helped enhance the flavors of our food. We finished the onion rings but had some leftover nachos. They also have a few racks in the middle of the restaurant that have assorted rubs barbecue sauces and hot sauces. We picked up a bottle of the honey sweet and I found a bottle of sugar free barbecue chipotle to try. Bean diabetic I try and be careful with the amount of sugar I take in. The customer service was excellent the whole time we were here. We only saw the one young lady in the front and she was doing everything from handing out menus to take you to orders and serving the food along with cleaning the tables when people were done. She did everything very efficiently and still found time to talk to the customers. I felt that the whole experience was very comfortable and what we tend to think of as southern. Things were laid back and friendly and the food was excellent. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying some of the other offerings that they have. The first thought when we saw the menu was getting the sandwich but I'm very happy with the choices we made. Maybe sandwiches next time or a platter. Whatever we get I'm sure it will be very tasty. This is a smaller place that does not have a lot of tables but they do a steady business from what we saw. They also do take out and deliver through all the services like Uber eats and door dash. If you like barbecue then make plans to try this one.

Today we stopped into Honeys Bee Bee Q for the first time. The dining room is fairly small with about 13 tables and is decorated in a nice blue on the walls with a lower section of corrugated metal. We ordered Spicy fried pickles ($7) as an appetizer served with a side of ranch for dipping and the entrees we ordered were the 2 piece chicken with two sides ($10)and the chopped brisket sandwich with one side ($12). The sides we chose were potato salad, baked smoked potato, brisket chili, onion rings and baked beans. So, let’s start with the spicy fried pickles, there is a slight spice to them but not something that lingers. The onion rings are crisp and tasty, the potato salad is a bit sweeter than I’m used too but it’s tasty. I just couldn’t eat much of it at one time. It is served with a sprinkle of spices on top that is nice. The baked beans include black beans, corn and pineapple and these are definitely worth ordering. When it comes to brisket, I prefer a nice lean sliced brisket and usually when a restaurant serves chopped brisket, it’s swimming in sauce and quite fatty….not at all the case here. The brisket is chopped, lean and is not served with a sauce on it. This is a tasty brisket served on a firm bun. The fried chicken is tasty and crisp. The brisket chili is thick and served with a side of sour cream and a small side of shredded cheese. The baked smoked potato is nice and soft and has a nice smoky flavor by itself. Next time I’ll likely order the baked potato stuffed with brisket. The beverages are all bottled which is ok, but my drink of choice is brewed unsweet iced tea and this is something they do not have. I feel like bbq restaurants should always offer fresh brewed iced tea. The bottled stuff always has a chemical taste to it. There are three bbq sauces on the table, sweet, a little spicy and spicy. The first two are nice and we didn’t sample the spicy one. The sweet one has a nice honey flavor to it which is really nice. Service is friendly and attentive. Today there was just one server, Mayra and she did an excellent job attending to all diners and the Food pick up and delivery folks that came in throughout to pick up orders. We will be back.

My husband and I came to this place before the new owners and we actually did not have the best experience. I know that new owner is now own this place so this is a fresh review for them. We came in and we will see the very promptly, the lovely waitress that we had was very courteous, very fast, very efficient and checked in on us a lot. Even with a very busy and full restaurant on a Sunday afternoon. The food here I’m familiar with Carolina barbecue it paired up pretty well. It was a little bit dry at times, but the sauces that they have on the table really helped to enhance your meal. I got the children’s pulled pork with a side of mac & cheese. My husband got the lunch special of the brisket sandwich with the side of baked beans. My pulled pork sandwich was on the dryer side. I did like the fact that the buns were toasted my mac & cheese. I could tell had been sitting for a minute, which is something I do kind of expect from a barbecue restaurant. They cooking big bashes and are pulling from the big batch. But overall, it was really good. My husband‘s brisket sandwich was good. The beans here actually were very good. They were nice and sweet and the right balance of flavor. They went really great with the cornbread. Now the cornbread, the shape of these are super cute. They were dry on the outside but moist on the inside, but I think that is due to the shape that they’re used of this honeycomb mold. I give the food a four out of five I would come back. The atmosphere of this place now I came here when the old previous owner was here. It’s definitely opened up a bit more. I would like to see more of the owners style and taste in this place. I would like to see some of the decor change up and really scream that this is a Carolina barbecue place and not just a regular bbq place. I did love the sign in the back with the owners names. There was also some cute merch for sale of little bees. They’d be really cute to maybe even play up on that portion as well for the decor. My husband also took home peach cobbler and had it a little bit later. He did say it was lacking freshness but overall you can’t really be mad at a peach cobbler and he did eat it later on.

Spent a total of $175.48 for the night on a take out order after a day at Disney. Prior to ordering via online platform, I called on-site to inquire about latest time they are willing to take an order to which we were informed “30 minutes prior to closing”. I was told they had run out of brisket and mac and cheese. I proceeded to make my order and upon receiving online confirmation, I called again to ensure everything we ordered was available. We were told our order is good to go and quoted a time for pick up. Here is the kicker: we paid for the order and as we were leaving, a man walked out (presumably the chef based on his attire) and told us: “in the future if you order anything over $100, order 2 hours in advance”. Now having been in the service industry, I completely understand how frustration of last minute orders. However, we gave the establishment two chances to turn away our order. We would’ve respectfully obliged. However, we were never told our order was unwelcome EVEN upon confirmation of the final amount. If the chef had an issue, he should’ve taken it up with his staff and/or considered re-training the receptionist. Commenting in such a manner upon us leaving the establishment is a weird way of appreciating our patronage and desire to try a local eatery rather then a trusted name in town. Now, this negative experience may have been diluted had the food blew our minds as per the reviews. However, the potatoes looked so dry even the Sahara would’ve seemed like a respite from what we were served. I’ve given the establishment 2 stars because I want to give it the benefit of the doubt since it was a late order AND it was take out. The gumbo, corn, and slaw were good. I can imagine the poutine being even better in person but to say the fries are the best in the order from a bbq joint is disappointing. Everything else was mediocre at best. I would rethinking dining here. Risk leaving with a foul taste in your mouth and a desire for more in your stomach.

*Update: to your response below Thank you for taking the time to respond. While we appreciate your gratitude, it seems empty when you follow up with the assumption “there was no malice intended” even before you were given the details of the situation or the night the correspondence occurred. I can assure you no one would’ve taken the words shared kindly given the circumstance. That being said, this order was taken over the phone at around 9pm on September 10th in the amount stated above. I sincerely hope you will address this with your staff so this does not happen to anyone else...
