Last night we ate at the Villa Italiano Chophouse in Kissimmee. One pf the best meals I had!
Our reservation was for 5:30 and we arrived about 20 minutes early and there was no issue seating us at that time. The place was clean and the music featuring Frank Sinatra gave it just the right touch. We were seated near the kitchen and the through the glass walls we could see them prepping the dinner. That kept my granddaughter occupied for quite a while.
Our waitress was Porsche and she was phenomenal! Very pleasant and accommodating. She immediately asked if anyone had food allergies. We told her no and she then asked if anyone wanted drinks to start while she handed out the menus. She also asked if we wanted to start our granddaughter early with a one of the kid’s meals. We thought that was a great idea because we knew she would start to say she was hungry. We gave her our drinks order and not too much later she returned with them. Excellent drinks! I had the THE OLD COUNTRY which had Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Disaronno Amaretto, Filthy Cherry, on the rocks. Delicious! My son had the VENETIAN SUNSET, another awesome drink; my daughter the Sangria and my wife Pinot Grigio.
We started with appetizers: an order of Fried Calamari with marinara sauce, a hot pepper, lemon wedge and Mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce. No complaints on the portions that were served. Next were the main courses. My daughter and I had the 12 OZ CHOICE NEW YORK STRIP LOIN Seasoned with rosemary, garlic, cracked pepper and sea salt, grilled to your liking. These were cooked medium rare. It was served with Served with Sauteed Italian Vegetables and Garlic Mashed Potatoes. I added Balsamic Onions and Blue Cheese Crumbles and my daughter added Gorgonzola Cheese. One of the best steaks I had. My wife had the LINGUINI WITH RED CLAM SAUCE and there was plenty of seafood in it. My son had CHICKEN PARMESAN with rigatoni which was a healthy portion too. We didn’t have dessert but my granddaughter had the VANILLA BEAN GELATO. It was topped with white chocolate shavings. Delicious!
We couldn’t have been happier with our choice. The people were courteous, we had attentive service and at the end Porsche asked us to look over the bill to ensure everything was correct and make sure we took our credit card. I’ve never been asked to do that before.
If you want excellent food with great service, I highly recommend Villa Italiano Chophouse. We will be going again when we...
Read moreDid not stay at Westgate resort however saw incredible reviews for Villa Italia Chophouse. When we arrived staff at resort seemed confused as to why we were there even after we told them we had reservations at the restaurant. They proceeded to send us to front desk, who asked for my ID and were taking quite a while. Finally stated they had no reservations anywhere at Westgate. Again we told them we were there for dinner and had reservations at 7, finally the pointed us toward the restaurant. Once in we were seated immediatly. Waitstaff was outstanding, if not a bit aloof. Appetizers and drinks were very good. The main couses came, less than desirable. There were 4 to our party and 3 ordered chicken parmegian. The chicken was so thin, overcooked and extremely salty, not just over salted, but to the point of disgusting. The 4th meal was supposed to be a ceasear salad with salmon, however they brought the salmon dinner. This is after the waitress assured me they could do salmon on the cesear salad. The salmon was overly salty as well. It's as if the Chef was trying to either cover the flavor of old meat or just learning to use salt as a flavor enhancer, he failed with all 4 meals. I will not be recommending this restaurant nor coming back. The waitress said nothing when she picked up 4 uneaten dinner plates, when we did tell her how awful and salty all the meals were she was aloof and surprised. We had a gift card that we wanted to use as a partial payment that their system kept declining. We used another form of payment just to find out the next day that they did use the gift card, so essentially we paid for the horrible dinner 2 times. I am still waiting for the refund back to the gift card, they said it will take 3 business days. I will repost Thursday when I find out if they made...
Read moreVilla Italiano Chophouse is situated within a Vacation Villa complex, but anyone can go have a meal there. The layout and decor is beautiful, very modern and classy yet somehow it feels homely and familiar...they've hit the perfect balance with their interior design. We were looked after by Kenya during our visit and the service was fantastic, extremely friendly yet still retaining the professionalism they obviously take great pride in delivering. The food then...firstly an open kitchen is always a plus for us, it shows integrity and confidence. It appears spotless and very calm in the kitchen and the food was 5 star quality. We had bruschetta and complimentary warm breads with dipping oils to start and loved them. The tomatoes on the bruschetta were delicious, very fresh tasting and full of flavour. For entrees we shared a calabrese pizza, my fiancé had the spaghetti carbonara and I had rigatoni bolognese but swapped the rigatoni for spaghetti. The pastas were the best I have ever had from an Italian restaurant, no competition. They were perfectly cooked, it's that simple. The pizza was very nice, but a specialised pizza restaurant would make nicer - however it really was a good offering. No dessert, sadly we were too full and we only had the bistro portions so value for money is great aswell! The only downside is that they had ran out of Peroni on draught, but I chose Corona as an alternative and it's great aswell so not a problem and can't be held against the restaurant as it's a popular beer! All in all, we will absolutely return to try other pasta dishes, it really is that good! It wasn't extremely busy and would be interesting to see if their very high standards are maintained when the restaurant is full, but I'm confident...
