Saturday 4/12/25 was my first time ever dining at Chubby's. It was 1pm, and we were starving. On the way to the mall, we decided to stop. The hostess was pleasant. There was a family leaving and an older guy in the back. 2 other girls came while we were there. Definitely not busy for the staff. Our waiter was polite. Since it was my first time, I just got the sampler. You can't go wrong with the basics. WRONG! I asked to add onions to my hashbrowns, and my friend copied and did the same. He was satisfied with the taste of his food. I was not so lucky. I ate my pancakes first. They were good. The rest of my platter was terrible. The hashbrowns came with big chucks of onions on top. Not even mixed in, which was good because the onions were cut so big they were too strong to eat, and that made it easy to pick them out. Upon attempting to eat the hashbrown, everything just crunched cause they were burnt. So burnt, they didn't even taste like potatoes just char. I sent them back. By the time I got them back, I had already had enough of disappointment. The eggs were scrambled so hard that they were fried. The bacon was so hard it was like brittle. Crumbled when picked up, and the sausage was like microwave sausage they cooked earlier in the day, they put it on the grill for the visual effect, and it got dried out. But at this point, I was just hungry. I tried to salvage my meal by mixing the bacon bits in the eyes and drizzling it with syrup. The toast was still white, with no toast marks, but it was warm, and the jelly was good. To add insult to injury, we were charged $8.00 for adding the onions to each of our hashbrowns. $8.00!!!!! For a .79 cent onion. $52...
Read moreI swung by Chubby’s Diner in Fresno the other morning and had a pretty awesome time. I went for their eggs with sausage and bacon, plus home potatoes, and let me tell you, it did the trick. The eggs were cooked just how I like them—fluffy and not overdone. The sausage and bacon were nice and crispy, adding that perfect savory kick. The home potatoes were spot on too, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, exactly what you want for a hearty breakfast.
What really made my visit great was the service. The staff were super friendly and on the ball. I was digging into my meal when the coffee kept coming non-stop, which was a nice touch. It’s like they knew I needed that extra boost to start my day right. No annoying pauses or long waits for refills, just steady cups of coffee to keep me going.
The vibe at Chubby’s is classic diner cool. It’s got that retro feel with comfy booths and a laid-back atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. Perfect spot to relax and enjoy a good meal without any rush. Plus, everything was clean and well-kept, which always adds to the overall experience.
Loved every bite and the whole setup. If you’re in Fresno and need a solid breakfast spot with tasty food and awesome service, Chubby’s Diner is where you want to be. I’m definitely heading back for another round of their delicious breakfast and...
Read moreVery disappointed with the lack of service. Definitely will never return. I heard about this place as it is local and a reasonable price for breakfast/lunch.
My boyfriend and I requested a table for 2. We were told it would be a few minutes for us to be seated and took down our name. We waited outside along with other parties to be seated. They were able to get other parties a table quickly, but as for us we waited 30 minutes outside while watching new parties come in.
We told the hosts our names again & that we have been waiting. They took our names down and we went back outside to wait. We waited another 10 minutes or so until we realized we would never get a table. A waste of our times and we ended up finding something across the street. I can't leave a review for food since we weren't...
