Tonight was my first time eating at famous Dave’s. My wife and I were excited to try it because we both had been wanting barbecue for dinner. Upon entering the establishment, we like the relaxed atmosphere that it offered. We did not have to wait long for a seat which was nice. Once seated, we received the menu and gave our drink order. Our server, Brittany G., came back with our drinks shortly after and told us that she forgot our chips. We didn’t know that we got chips, but I guess that is what is served while you wait to order. It took her about 20 minutes to come back with our chips and take our order. We waited another 20 minutes before I had to wave her down to ask if she could please bring my salad before the food arrived. She told me that would be no problem and she would have it here before the food came out. Another 10 minutes past before a different server came and dropped off my salad and immediately after the salad was placed on the table the food was placed on the table. I was pretty upset that I wasn’t able to enjoy my salad before my meal, but no biggie. My wife ordered the south side rib, tips with potato salad and mac & cheese. The rib tips were extremely dry and they looked almost to the point of being beef jerky. She said the potato salad tasted store-bought and flavorless. And she did not know that the mac & cheese came with corn inside of it, which was very unusual and she didn’t care for at all. I ordered the brisket with mashed potatoes and fries and my side salad. The ranch dressing for the side salad is heavily seasoned with dill And is very overpowering. I was unsatisfied with the brisket. I had one piece of it and was unable to eat anymore of it and the mashed potatoes. I received look like they had been sitting out for a few hours and didn’t have much flavor. We had to get up and get our own condiments because the server had not came back around to see if if there was anything that we needed.. I actually had to walk from the section where we were sitting all the way to the front of the restaurant to find the salt shakers. We also had to waive her down in order to get a refill on my wife’s soda since again she hadn’t checked to see if there was anything that we needed. We sat there, unable to eat our food so we waited for the server to return so that we could get the check. All in all, I am very disappointed with the service that we received, and we will definitely not be coming back because the food was not up to par. I am a Chef so I do understand how things work in a restaurant but I’m highly disappointed in the service...
Read moreThe wife and I were in town visiting in-laws and family. We had the first chance in a while to get out and have a date night. We had went to the river park shopping center or whatever you want to call it. Everything was shut down, because the mall and half the block with good food was shut down. So, we had meandered into Famous Dave’s for appetizers and drinks prior to going to watch a movie. We discovered a messy bar top that was sticky, wet and messy. Our Server (Paul I think?) was great and I would give his service and personality a 10/10. My wife ordered a cocktail. I had peered over to look at some of the liquors near a speed well and noticed that none of the liquor has caps or pour spouts, leaving them wide open to fruit flies and other insects and debris that was willfully allowed to float in the open liquors. My wife immediately stopped ordered cocktails after she noticed.
The Server also had a full to the brim busser tub that he kept filing and causing food to splash up onto the open bottles I was talking about earlier. I PRAYED the food would be better. We had order the boneless chicken wings, burnt ends, tacos and fried pickles.
The boneless wings looked like flash frozen meatballs I could buy at Costco or the same club across the street and probably make taste better. The burnt ends were cold and fatty. The sauce that’s came with the fried pickles tasted sour. That’s literally it, sour garbage. Then came the bill. 73 dollars. Whut. I cannot begin to fathom how bug washed cocktails and meatball like chicken wings could compute out to a 70$ bill. Anyhow, we will not be back to...
Read moreUse to be our favorite place. The service has gotten so bad. All they do is stand around in the kitchen chatting. Loudly! One other family there when we arrived. I had to keep stepping further and further into the dinning area because no one would stop chatting long enough to acknowledge us. Four booths sitting across from us waiting to be cleaned. WAITED for our waitress to acknowledge us after we finished and asked for to-go boxes which we continued WAITING for. Our waitress walked through our area twice. I finally got up and walked to the kitchen, where I had to loudly say "EXCUSE ME" to get someone to notice me. I asked for to-go boxes again. Girl asked where we were sitting. They all went back to chatting and we continued to wait & wait & wait. Flagged down another person and asked again. She said that she wasn't our waitress BUT she would get. Then, our waitress finally appeared with some. Then, we paid and she was so anxious to get the money that she tried to take while my husband was still counting out cash. Next, you guessed it, we WAITED! Go figure. When we stood up to leave there were unopened wipes and chips all over the floor by one of the tables, in the walkway that at least 3 people had walked through. We pointed it out to a male server and his comment back was, "Guess somebody's not getting paid". We will not be going back or giving out gift cards for this establishment anymore. One in our party has dietary concerns and requested no sauce on the ribs. Of course, they came smothered in sauce. She scrapped it off with her knife and...
