Tennessee Jed’s was wonderful! (I’m the maid of honnor) I recently had a weekend bachelorette party in Gatlinburg, for our bride. Our bride is not much of a meat eater, including a handful of the girls being vegan. Trying to find a vegan restaurant (especially one that caters up a mountain side) was not easy. We had found Tennessee Jed’s online. After emailing and getting ahold of Heather (person in charge of catering) was so nice and understanding towards what we need as a bachelorette party. She gave great advice and tips. Heather had mentioned even though she is a meat person as well, she said people, including herself, rave about the roasted tofu. I have to agree the Roast Tofu was incredibly! I was so happy that our vegan friends had so many options for themselves and felt included! The pulled pork was tender and very flavorful! The Mac and cheese was cheesing! The banana pudding Jed’s makes is (no words) By far Jed’s was the best food we had. Everyone else was very mediocre, food was okay and quick get the tourist out kind of vibe. Our whole group was thrilled that we had Tennessee Jed’s cater and no one else. (I feel so bad but so much was going on, I believe our drivers name was Tim.) Tim was INCREDIBLY! He was so sweet and fun! A great vibe. And he let me watch him go backwards down our mountain hill lol those mountains are no joke and I definitely cried going up and down. Like Heather, Tim was so sweet on the advice he gave us. We are clearly not mountain girls but will absolutely be back for more adventures and fun. Tennessee Jed’s will always be our number one stop once we arrive! Thank you again for the wonderful experience and...
Read moreI had researched this place before our trip to Gatlinburg, so I was really excited to try it, based on all the reviews. It’s definitely a cute little restaurant! It’s clean and has a nice vibe. The woman working at the front counter was super friendly (all of the employees were). When we first got here, we were the only customers. But by the time we left, all the tables were full.
After we ordered and sat down, the food didn’t take long to come out. The employee who brought our food to the table was very friendly. I got the Classic BBQ sandwich (pulled pork) with a side of baked beans. I would give the sandwich 3 out of 5 stars - they give you a HUGE portion of meat on the sandwich, so you won’t leave hungry. I wasn’t able to finish the whole sandwich. The pulled pork was definitely cooked well and tender, but we thought it was really lacking flavor/seasoning, so it was pretty bland. I also thought it could have used more bbq sauce (this might have added flavor or covered up the lack of seasoning in the meat). Where I’m from, if you order a pulled pork sandwich with bbq sauce, the meat will be completely covered in the sauce. Here, it looked like they just put a drizzle of sauce on the sandwich, but 90% of the sandwich was dry. Their bbq sauce had a very light flavor, I was expecting a little more flavor from it. But it was not bad. The baked beans were delicious. My boyfriend got the Slaw Dog, and he enjoyed it. Overall, it was a good experience and I’m glad we got to...
Read moreMe and my family came here to eat after a long day of hiking in the Smoky Mountain National Park. I arrived a couple minutes before the rest of my family because they all stopped in the public restrooms (there are no restrooms in the restaurant). I picked a table and sat down to ensure we had one big enough. When my family arrived we were taking a moment to look at the menu since we have never been there. I don’t understand why, but that really annoyed the blond cashier lady. She was walking around the restaurant (which is a small area) and mumbling under her breath ‘just order. It’s not that difficult. Just order your food.’ She really made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. When my sons went up to order I told them to just order mine as well. I should have left because of that, but we were tired and starving and I didn’t want to do the whole find somewhere to eat search all over again. I will say the cashier was polite to my boy’s faces when ordering the food and she said have a nice day when we were leaving, so I really don’t know what the whole annoyance was about us looking at the menu.
As far as the food, it’s good. I think it’s over priced though, definitely not that good. I also didn’t like that you can’t make any substitutions to...
