We enjoyed a fabulous evening and dinner at Christina's on May 1, 2021. My husband and I had dinner with dear friends who are moving out of the U.S. soon, so we wanted an extra special night. And boy, did we get it!
I think our waiter's name was Scott; I could be mistaken. Whatever moniker he answers to, he served us incredibly well all evening. His knowledge of the menu, the way certain dishes are prepared, his suggestions for wine pairings and appetizers were absolutely spot on. He was charming and helpful, attentive but not intrusive. It was obvious he loves his job and believes in the product he's selling. Christina's should be proud to have him onboard.
We started with crab cakes and the two cheeses board. The crab cakes were super fresh and delicious. They weren't hiding under a thick layer of panko like many are and were very nicely prepared with a luscious remoulade sauce. The cheese board included grilled baguettes, chipotle honey, a delightful mango chutney, and fresh fruit. Wonderful!
Both the gentlemen ordered the pork chop, seared and roasted in a port wine reduction served with whipped potatoes and scrumptious Brussels sprouts. My friend had the butter poached lobster with potatoes and asparagus. I had the perfectly cooked filet mignon served with garlic butter and ah-mazing hollandaise, potatoes and the Brussels sprouts. We all completely cleaned our plates and were a little sad when we'd finished because the flavors and textures made us want to keep right on eating. We agreed it was the best meal any of us had had in quite a long time. Everything was prepared to perfection.
We shared a creme brulee and a slice of carrot cake for dessert along with espresso and/or freshly brewed decaf. Once again, we cleaned our plates.
None of us could imagine a more perfect evening and meal. Excellent service, phenomenal food, and great ambiance. As we live in Dallas, it's an easy 90 minute drive to experience Christina's again. And we plan to... as soon...
Read moreIt is a rare thing when I get to rant and rave about a business but this is one of those times. Madeline and I just got home from an exceptional meal at Christina's Bistro on the square in Granbury Texas. Gary has done an amazing job with this fine restaurant, he and his amazing staff knocked our socks off with a dinning surprise for our little town. Madeline had the Lobster Salad, and I had the stuffed Salmon. First of all the staff seated us in an area not to close to the live music, the restaurantâs ambiance is warm and inviting with natural stone walls and beautiful woodwork throughout. The first thing we noticed was how Madelineâs wine was served at the perfect temperature. Then we were seated far faster than we thought possible without reservations. When the food was served, the plating was a work of art, and the serving size was enough to feed a Texas Ranch-hand. The food temps were perfect on both our meals and our drinks were well attended to from start to finish. Our server was a true professional, caring but not working too hard or being a distraction from our conversation or food. The seasoning was perfect, Madeline didnât even desire salad dressing for her meal nor did my fish need anything. After dinner, we split a slice of chocolate cake from his Pastry Chef and had a properly brewed cup of Columbian Coffee. We had a very pleasant conversation with our new friends Tammy and Robert at the table next to us. They told us about Garyâs Sunday Brunch, guess where we are going soon! I hope you will join us soon at Christinaâs and take the time to meet Gary, his enthusiasm is contagious, and I think you too will have one of the finest dining experiences of your life. Be prepared to be treated better than family. Don't forget to save room for...
Read moreVery disappointed on our first visit to Christianaâs! Our service was horrible March 9 th for dinner we got seated our server dropped off the wrong glass of wine and forgot about us! I tried to get her attention for 20 minutes after to order dinner but she never looked back at our table! I had to grab another worker to get our server to come back so we could order. I asked her if she could swap out my glass of wine for the correct one and she said no she couldnât i was completely shocked and blew that off. We ordered the charcuterie board and the bread wi the the board was hard as a rock! We couldnât even chew the bread nor break it in half. Again our server never came back to check on us so I had to flag someone else told him about the hard bread and explained we couldnât chew it. My husband then ordered a steak it came to him from someone else in the kitchen with no steak knife and way too red!! Again it took another 15 minutes for our server to come check on us after the steak was left. My husband said he couldnât cut it and it was way too raw! After that we were going to just leave but he was so hungry he wanted to try something else so he did! I couldnât believe that a manager didnât come over after being served the wrong glass of wine and it not being corrected , the bread we couldnât even chew, a badly undercooked steak that was sent back , having to be kept at the restaurant longer just to get something else to eat! All that and a manager never came over to talk to us about our service. I was shocked i wanted to ask for a manager but my husband said no he was too upset and just wanted to pay get...
