It was our wedding anniversary today (7-7-2018) and being new to the area we always try to go someplace new when we go out. I had heard and read great reviews so we really wanted to go try the burgers. We arrived around 4:30pm and we were first met with a very strong horrible smell of rotten sewer! The hostess blamed the bathrooms 😬 and blamed the city 🤔laughing about it. We almost left... probably should have because the restaurant was so dirty. The floors were sticky and really gross about 8 to 10 inches from the walls all along the edges. The outdoor patio had trash all over the ground (we saw it as walked up and sat next to a window looking out to the patio) My booth seat had food crumbs left on it. The window ledges were dirty. And I was really grossed out by how dirty the salt shaker was! Seriously the freaking salt shaker!? It’s amazing to me how a single nasty smell opens your eyes to every inch of ick! Yes we stayed and we each ordered the Cadillac burger with fries and onion rings. Both our burgers were prepared exactly the way we asked and tasted AMAZING! I even think it was the best tasting burger I ever had! Our waiter, I am so sorry I can’t remember his name, was fantastic. He was quick, friendly, gave us great recommendations, check on us several times and wished us a great day and a please come back before we left. He is definitely an asset to the restaurant! I am not sure if we will go back because I have issues with dirty restaurants. If the front is dirty, where customers can see it, just imagine how dirty the...
Read moreFirst time visit. The welcome wasn't welcoming.. had to wait to be seated.. no hostess at the door. Had to wait for her. No smile just follow me. We dined outside, no smoking allowed. Asked for Cokes, we got water instead. I figured drinks will come with the food. No big deal. Then we get asked 3 times if we are ready. Within 5 mins. I ordered the Chicken Work, he ordered the Model A add bacon, side of fries. His fries came out no Cokes yet, I go inside to wash my hands and ask for our drinks, she admitted she forgot. Then 45 mins pass, we ate the fries with our Cokes, must ask for a refill. The waitress comes apologizing saying she hit the wrong button and ordered him a blue cheese crumble with bacon and asked if it would be ok instead of what he ordered. We said no thanks and asked to pay for what we had. Another waitress got down in my face, on my level of the arms of the chairs and said, "forgive your waitress", she's new and she's old!! " What?!? I told her we are done, I got up and walked out. She's old!!! WTF?!?! Had nothing to do with her age!! Just not a good environment!! Smelled funny too. Point is they should have made his burger ASAP. Offered to comp something while we wait for his correct food or come and tell us the mistake but tell us the game plan, Not make an excuse and blame...
Read moreWe came down for the Granbury Wine Walk. Decided we would start out with some food before starting all the samples. The Fillin Station is great location right on the square across from courthouse. The outside patio is very large with lots of ceiling fans and on this particular day was fantastic. One draw back is if you sit at tables near the main road you will have to deal with the occasional diesel truck coming by. The menu is a lot of fun to read with everything from lug nuts to little deuce coupe. Their sandwiches have multiple choice breads everything from sourdough to jalapeno or rye. My friend Bill got the "Torpedo" it was large jalapeno, cheddar sausage with saute onions & sauerkraut. I got the "Assembly line" ham, turkey & good crispy bacon on sour dough bread topped with lettuce & tomato, i paid the extra $1 for the onion strings well worth with else sandwiches come with chips. We topped it off with the fresh peach cobbler a la mode. It was perfect for my desert shelf. All and all this is great place to have a simple sandwich or salad. My wife did the grilled chicken salad it looked really good with sliced strawberries and blue cheese crumbles topped with a berry...
