Walked in around 12:30 pm on 9/9/2020 to get a sandwich. Ordered a half sandwich with turkey, bacon, swiss on sourdough bread. Stood in line for a few minutes. Paid for the order, adding an oatmeal cookie. Was asked if I wanted to add a tip. I selected 15%.
Since there were no names taken or numbers given for the orders, there was a little confusion when an order was ready. The staff simply called out what they had prepared and waited to see if any customers standing around claimed it.
A guy claimed he had prepared my order, but admitted they didn't actually have any sourdough bread, so he chose honey wheat bread without asking me. I'm not a fan of sweet bread but said I would try it. Walked a block and a half back to my office. Took one bite of the sandwich and wrapped it back up. Too sweet. Walked back to the shop and asked for a refund.
The girl behind the register didn't know what to do, but the woman who actually prepared my sandwich recognized me and came to her rescue. She said since there was no name on the order she didn't know who to ask about a substitution. I'm sorry, but that is not my fault. I waited for two people in front of me to order. No names were asked for. No order numbers given. Two people behind me ordered without being asked for their names either.
This is a management issue. There needs to be a better system in place. If my name had been attached to my order, they could have let me know they didn't actually have sourdough bread and allowed me to decide what I wanted to do. Instead they chose an option for me that I would never have selected.
This is the last time I will ever tip before...
Read moreThe smell...the amazing smell of fresh baked breads...your mouth begins to water as you step outside of your vehicle. I tried an assortment of baked goodies, cinnamon chip bread and I am not a fan of cinnamon, pineapple blueberry bread, caramel apple bread, and buttered oatmeal cookies. Turned the cinnamon chip bread into French toast, you should try it! The pineapple blueberry was dense and heavy but still good. The caramel apple is hands down my new favorite bread. All taste good warmed up with some butter.
The gentleman who assisted me looked at every loaf of bread to make sure he gave me the best possible product. My only regret is living here for 8 years and only finding out about it a few months...
Read moreI arrived at about 3:01 on a Saturday. (They close at 3:00.). Parked outside so I could use my phone to determine my next destination. I so wanted a bakery item. The man inside who was clearly closing shop came out to my car to see if there was anything I wanted. I got a strata for tomorrow’s breakfast, a brownie and a trek bar. So far I’ve only eaten the brownie which was incredibly creamy with a smooth texture. Soooo good! Looking forward to the other two items. Thanks for accommodating my...
