I love this place! My friend and I meet every other week at a coffee shop to write, talk about writing, and read our writing, plus get a little socializing in. Today she picked Coffee Underground per my request to find somewhere with healthy lunch options. We were both very impressed with the ambiance and energy of the place. The entire time we were there the place was filled with people but it never felt busy, as in rushed, crowded, or uncomfortable. There was a great vibe and the service was excellent. Now for the food... I was so excited when I received my order. Everything was so fresh, nutritious, and delicious. I had their tuna salad with a side salad. It looked so beautiful that I had to take a picture. And it was served on a nice ceramic plate. I definitely recommend Coffee Underground....even though I don't drink coffee. Lol. Tea drinker here, but today I had water. The only request I would have, well two, is that there be real silverware instead of plastic and that they use compostable to-go containers instead of styrofoam. I hope to catch one of their evening comedy nights. That sounds like fun!

If I could give 6 stars on atmosphere, I absolutely would. On the next stop at Hipster central, we have this nice dungeon-y underground café with a french lick and a bit of Je ne sais quoi. I ordered the coffee and the turkey, brie and apple sandwich, and I still remember the nice and soft brie cheese melting into the turkey with the french cheese aroma. Why have I never thought of using brie cheese like this? It's brilliant, thank you Coffee Underground! The bread was a bit dry, and I think a bit more thought could've been put together for the sandwich, but for everything else it's brilliant. The water situation was a bit precarious, because of the large well of non-existent ice at the time, but I take it I came at a busy time. Alas, if you are on a 10 mile long urban hike through downtown Greenville and want to take another one of the 10 pit-stops you'll take through this sweet downtown, you should take a stop down here. Take a date here, whatever, talk about your next business venture, or even study PoliSci! One of the many activities you pretend to enjoy!

Amazing gem of a place! Food is awesome and coffee variety can’t be beat! I got the lady bug mocha which is a latte with mocha and raspberry. Would highly recommend and would get it again! The build your own breakfast sandwich creates endless choices and breakfast is ALL day! When I got my sandwich, it was evident that it was made fresh and not from a freezer and heated up. My cousin got the pancakes which also were great as they were from a scratch batter and nothing store bought for bulk processing. The pancakes came in three and were not obnoxiously large. She finished all of them and isn’t a huge eater. She said the bacon was perfect - not too done and not chewy either. Can’t wait to go back and try more food! The water station is self serve. You can get a carafe is you want to for the table. Also, there is a bussing station where you toss your own plates. Definitely a place that feel comfortable and private if you needed to study or have an intimate meeting/date. Many different seating options as well!

I went to this place yesterday after knowing that they are the no 1 coffee shop in Greenville. However, the coffee is just like a usual nothing very special. I am a coffee graduate from a coffee school so I can tell this that I can make better coffee at my home. I would prefer other coffee places such as village grind coffee for better coffee experience. Food was good not the best though. The ambience of the place is nice gives you feeling of underground place. Furniture could be little better as I felt falling down more than twice.

For the people who wants to go and work here on their laptops: they only offer 2 hour Wi-Fi pass with min $5.00 purchase. Which is okay and understandable. However if you in the middle of the call or meeting and using their Wi-Fi make sure you get another code with another purchase as your meeting is going to end as soon as 2 hours are done. No grace period or no asking for new code so you can extend the Wi-Fi.

I would say this more a chit chat friendly cafe to go where you can have nice brunch or lunch or breakfast or dinner but not for usual coffee place where you go and work with your cup of coffee and some food.

Please improve the quality of the lattes and coffee. I purchased two lattes but both were okay and taste differently as the barista was not managing espresso machine heads according to crowd. If you want to know more about how you can improve your coffee I can come and...

I have not written a review in years, but NEED to write one for this place. Love, love, LOVE this gem, and am so grateful it exists in the heart of Greenville. This is not an exaggeration: I literally came here 8 different days in a timespan of 10 days. Service is impeccable and attentive to detail. Morning weekday barista (tall man who looked like a manager or potential owner) knew my order by heart on my THIRD visit. By the time I got to the front of the line, he had my order all prepped and ready for me to take (and this occurred again whenever he worked there). Incredibly impressed. I've been to other coffee shops probably over 40+ times in a short timespan and yet the same barista there does not have the slightest clue what my order may be or what my name is (trust me, I've asked if she remembers).

The atmosphere is a very laid-back, chill coffee shop vibe with lots of GREAT indie music playing in the background (I need to ask for their playlist). Tons of seating, not cramped whatsoever. I also consistently get the farmer quiche when I visit. If you're looking for a sandwich, tuna melt was pretty solid. Thank you, Coffee Underground, for hosting my long solo study sessions and being so kind to me. I will absolutely return whenever I come back to Greenville. Hands-down, the best study coffee shop I've visited in my life-- not too loud, great background...

First I want to say how much I love this place. The atmosphere and coffee is fantastic. In college I would come here and watch films downstairs for my Art classes, super cool. I have a teen now that loves to meet up with her friends at the CU and chat for a bit while each one gets a coffee and dessert. We went at night and it was super chill. Once we went during the day with my younger daughter to get me a much needed coffee and them some desserts and was told by the host that we can’t sit in the open couches due to they are on a rotation. We just ate and just wanted to chill with dessert on the little couch like we do at night. I was not aware that they had included those couches as a rotation. The host proceeded to take us to the back to a small table, we felt forced and I didn’t like it so I said we’ll just go since the atmosphere was no longer setting right and we ordered our stuff to-go, I saw the host apologizing to the server so when she left I spoke with the server so she didn’t feel like it was her fault that we were leaving and I tipped her anyway since I know how hard it is to be a server on a Sunday. I think we’ll stick with the later hours since that is what...
