SIP Whiskey & Wine Bar — Restaurant in Greenville

Visited for my first time for my cousins birthday saturday. The view and ambience was amazing. However, the service very much so. Unwelcomimg service. We we’re ignored for hours and bypassed by the server as if we weren’t sitting there after telling her we would be ordering again after our first drinks. We watched as she served and checked on everyone one else that came in after us while walking past us refusing eye contact as if we weren’t there. after several attempts to get her attention to ask if we could order a cheese board she lied and told us we had to go inside to place that order. After watching others order food from other servers I decided to get the attention of a different server who confirmed what she told us was indeed not true. This server was very nice. She apologized, took our order, and sent the manager over. The manager did apologize, tell my cousin happy birthday, and ask if the other server took care of us. He said he would have a talk with the employee, but I will say he was very nonchalant at the same time. Shortly after I guess her shift ended because she was around taking drinks herself. We decided to stay after driving an hour to check the place out. During the evening and night tables were being cleared as the drinks flowed, but our table remained full of the same glasses and trash we occurred from 4:30PM until we left at 12AM. Had some good experiences here then one horrible one that has ended my patronage. On a busy night me and 3 others arrived intending to buy a few bottles and enjoy; we sat for 30 minutes without being served. When one of us approached the bar they were out of the bottle we tried to order, told us to head back to our seats and someone would be with us shortly. We waited another 15 minutes with no one. We decided to quietly leave. As we waited for the elevator the doorman asked why we were leaving and if we enjoyed ourselves; we responded honestly with if we had been served it would have been more enjoyable. The man responded with “What a shame...where are you headed now? Ink and Ivy? Up on the Roof?” (Clearly he was more interested in where the competition is). We responded with “somewhere that will serve us”, and he had no response. I have worked in the food industry and customer service, a simple walk back to the table and getting our order was all we needed. Totally misdirected energy and lacking customer service quality in that one instance was enough for all 4 of us to choose actively to share this story with others as well as not return....

I wasn't as impressed with this place as I had hoped. Their website offers 1/2 price whiskey flights which is why we came. We were told they quit doing whiskey flights a while back so someone needs to update the false advertising online. They were out of lemonade, so I could not get the cocktail I originally ordered. I got the adult "Capri sun" pouch drink instead, which was good but would be better if it closed. The 1/2 price whiskey was a good option for my husband to try some different whiskeys, although we were charged full price on one of them and had to wait to get credit because we had already paid on the handheld device they brought to the table to pay. Had I not texted a copy of the receipt to myself, I would not have noticed. Although the rooftop is spacious with lots of seating and fans, there's not really much of a view like we expected.
