Over a year ago, my wife and I sold our house, packed up our lives, and hit the road in an RV—eating our way across this beautiful country. As someone who once tipped the scales at 330 lbs, trust me when I say: I LOVE FOOD. And tonight’s experience at Trio? Hands down, top 3 of all time.

Everything was flawless—the food, the staff, the menu, the vibe. We came in on a Monday, so it was quiet, which made our evening feel even more intimate. At one point, the manager walked by and said, “If you pay for it, I’ll make it.” That kind of attitude? I’m all in.

Too many restaurants forget that diners have options. If you’ve got the ingredients and the time, why not make the dish? Scallops, peanut butter, green onion on angel hair with butter and parmesan? You can make that? Amazing—here’s my money!

Trio didn’t just say yes—they embraced the challenge. That kind of hospitality and creativity is rare, and absolutely unforgettable.

Now let’s talk service. Anne, our bartender/server, was phenomenal. She and the team seemed to anticipate our every need—like they were reading our minds.

And the food? Let’s start with the bread. Simple, right? But they nailed it. Fresh, homemade mini loaves baked just for our table, served with olive oil, minced garlic, and parmesan. Spectacular.

Then came the Tortellini Napoli. Creamy cheese tortellini, fennel sausage, spinach, thick slices of portobello mushrooms, all swimming in a rich parmesan reduction. My wife coined it a “Chef’s kiss!” moment—and she was spot on. I couldn’t finish it, but I’m thrilled to have leftovers waiting for me tomorrow.

If you ever get the chance, do yourself a favor and visit Trio. I hope your experience is as magical as ours. Safe travels and happy...

I agree with some reviewers stating this restaurant is truly underrated in Yelp. This restaurant's food is delicious!!!

The place has a tasteful rustic atmosphere/decoration and a diversified menu. We ate there in a couple of occasions and we asked for the Tomato Basil Soup, Potato Soup, Spicy Shrimp & Scallops, Chicken Parmigiana, BBQ Chicken Pizza and the Toll House Cookie for dessert.

Everything tasted delicious and was exceptionally cooked, except for the Spicy Shrimp & Scallops which only needed a tad of salt. Personally, I can not recommend the Tomato Basil soup enough to everyone - it was amazing! Creamy, rich in taste and texture was my favorite dish by far and, in cold days it sure can make a warm happy belly.

I highly recommend this place and no, I'm not endorsing it nor getting paid to do marketing. We were stuck in Greenville due to a snow storm and we happened to ran into this restaurant.

If you're visiting Downtown Greenville and are unsure which place to choose from its many restaurants, I invite you to give Trio a chance, you won't regret it. Just be aware, it can get busy fast, especially during the weekends because the word is out this place is really good! ;)

P.S. Reading other reviews regarding the noise in this place. Yes, it's noisy and can get really crowed on the weekends, the place it's not too big which doesn't help with the noise level but, hey, it's local, it's downtown and it's that good the wait sometimes it's up to 30 minutes so, get there early people and stop...

Mmy husband and I have been to Trio several times before (also many girls nights) and we absolutely love Trio. The food is always impeccable and delicious. But tonight we waited over and hour for our entrees with very little updates or check ins by our waiter. We ordered very soon after ordering our drinks. This had to have been close to 7:30. We got our complementary bread, then soon after the feta tomato basil dip that I ordered to go with my cup of soup. I did indicate that I wanted the dip to come out before our entrees, just so we could share and enjoy. Well I didn't expect to wait another hour and watch 5 tables get food before us and leave with their leftovers. Only after we inquired about our food did our waiter go and ask, told us that it would be only a few minutes. Only about 10 more minutes before our food came. It was so piping hot that I could not really eat/ enjoy my soup and we went ahead to get our check so that we wouldn't be waiting much longer. We could see that they were slammed, and the manager was doing all he could, but the fact that our server neglected our table, never alerted his manager that his table had been waiting for nearly and hour for their food, nor attempted to comp any portion or our dinner really left a distaste in our mouths. We hope that we will have more positive experiences at Trio again in our future, but will definitely make sure to come in super early to be able to be served in a...

Easily the best Italian Eatery I’ve tried The atmosphere is just super cool. We went the day before Mother’s Day, we expected things to be packed and potentially a bit slow. We didn’t even wait 5 minutes before our waitress Melissa greeted us! She was so kind, and attentive. It felt like she was our best friend for the hour we were there. We never had to ask for a refill, or even for boxes. Before I could form a sentence she asked if we’d like boxes and she actually boxes our food up! The food was delicious! It came surprisingly fast, I want to say we received our food 25 minutes after our delicious Lobster Bisque appetizer arrived. My fiancĂ© got the chicken parm, he is a chicken parm critic of sorts. He said that was easily the best chicken parm he’s had in GVL, and possibly the best food in that type of setting. I got the blackened carbonara! It was so fresh, the diced tomatoes and green onions added the most delicate touch! I’m looking forward to digging into our leftovers tomorrow! It was also very reasonably priced for the food quality, dare I say the prices could use raising. I’d say this is a $$ priced restaurant but tastes like $$$. One thing is for sure, it was the best service we’ve received yet, and we eat out A LOT! Definitely give this a try! Speedy service, amazing staff (keep up the splendid work Melissa) and great food!

Trio - Brick Oven Cafe is the kind of place that immediately draws you in with its vibrant energy and charm. It's a bustling hotspot, and while it can get pretty crowded, the lively atmosphere only adds to the appeal. The real star here is the pizza. From the first bite, you can tell that the chefs truly understand their craft. The crust is perfectly crisp and slightly charred from the brick oven, giving each slice a smoky, delicious depth. Whether you’re a fan of the classics or prefer something more adventurous, there’s a pizza here for every craving. Despite how busy it gets, the kitchen works quickly, and the food arrives hot and fresh, exactly as you’d hope. You get friendly & efficient service from the staff who keeps everything moving smoothly. They also bring out delectable bread as a starter. There's cute outdoor seating as well that allows you to enjoy the street life with your meal. I was able to find a parking spot fairly easily but it's in a busy location so finding parking could be challenging.
