Very nice hostess and waiter, but the food was really disappointing which makes me curious if the chefs have changed recently because these pictures look wonderful. The 8$ Kani Salad felt like a knife through my heart man, it was simply shredded imitation crabmeat on top of iceberg lettuce with absolutely no other ingredients and NO SAUCE. That is a value of 2$ and an absolute insult to kani salad (typically kani salad is shredded imitation crabmeat mixed in with sauces, oils, and sometimes a little tempura and tobiko to create a delicious blend of textures and immaculate flavor combinations). Why did the chef think that was appropriate to serve for 8$ is beyond my comprehension (no it's not, it is pure laziness and the ability to get away with it). I ordered 3 sushi rolls; Green Dragon, Poseidon and Typhoon. I'm scared I've developed some sort of sudden taste bud deficiency because despite the numerous different fish and other fresh-presenting ingredients, these rolls unfortunately lacked flavor. Mind you, I eat sushi for the fish quality, not to drown it in soy sauce (though I happily welcome complimentary sauces such as eel sauce, spicy mayo, etc.) and all 3 rolls arrived without any sauce to accommodate for the other ingredients, so I have to assume they are using really cheap fish because I could barely distinguish the flavors. And the real kicker was that the best ingredient taste wise, not suprisingly the eel, was practically missing from half the Green Dragon roll. They used such little eel for a 13$ roll, the knife wound in my heart only got deeper with every decision the chef made with my meal. Chef, I do not want to be mean or make anyone feel bad but this ended up being around a $125 bill which just left me feeling defeated because I really love...
Read moreHORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! My date and I had a taste for sushi on Friday, May 13, 2016, so we decided to try Tsunami's. After waiting 20 minutes to be seated, we ended up being seated in a section with a waitress who was too busy with bigger parties to serve us. After waiting for nearly ANOTHER 20 minutes after being seated, we realized that no one had even come over to say hi or take our drink orders. We noticed that a waitress came over to the table directly next to us and began to take the order of a couple that had just sat down, despite the fact that we were there first and had been waiting for at least 20 minutes at this point. I called that waitress to our table and asked if she could get whoever our waitress was because we had been waiting for a long time. She said she would check to see who our waitress was, and 10 minutes later, we still had not been served and had not even put in a drink order at this point. My date and I proceed to get up because at this point we were both livid and decided not to patronize this horrible business. On the way out, I told the hostess that we were beyond displeased with our service and asked to speak with a manager. The manager (or at least she said she was the manager) came out and instead of apologizing and doing whatever she could do to get us to stay, said that the person who was our waitress was busy with a large party. I was expecting her to offer to serve us immediately and at least offer to cover the bill considering that we had been sitting for 30 minutes WITHOUT ANY SERVICE WHATSOEVER!!! This was s horrible experience and this was my last time coming to Tsunami's. My date and I ended up going a block down the street to Sushi Murasaki where we were seated and served...
Read moreOne of the worst dining experiences of my life! My grandson chose this restaurant for his 21st birthday dinner. The food was good, but not great. I've had better at much lower costs. The service was lousy. The atmosphere was that of a beer dive, not a nice restaurant. A large table of young adults who acted like they were in a football stadium was seated behind us. We couldn't even carry on a conversation at our table, as they literally yelled profanities to the top of their lungs to others in their party seated at the opposite end of the table. When my son-in-law complained to the owner, one of their party yelled "You are the one making a scene", and one of the "ladies" (I use the term lightly, as she was obviously pregnant and drinking sake) , yelled "We are NOT at your house!". EXACTLY.....you're in public, where there are other patrons that deserve a peaceful dining experience. Does no one have any consideration for others anymore? Well, the owner did nothing about the middle-schoolesque thirty-somethings, who then increased the volume of their vulgarities out of spite. As we rose to leave, the rowdy crowd started yelling at us, so she (the owner) literally SHOVED me out the door before they became violent, while the inept red-haired waitress weighted down with body piercings made a snide comment, something to the effect of "Y'all need to go".She was right....we did, only we should have gone long before that so we wouldn't have the regret of spending one thin dime in this low-class...
