This is the worst bar in Greenville. I'm not sure why they have reviews from two days ago because they told us last night that it was their first night open. We were excited about going because it is close to our house and we love a sports bar. We looked them up earlier in the day and it said happy hour was from 4 to 6 and there were some $5.00 appetizers. We show up around 4:30 and order some beers. The waiter confirmed that it was happy hour. After getting the beers we ordered some appetizers. The waiter went to the kitchen and asked about the happy hour. He told us that the happy hour on appetizers wouldn't start until next week. Ok, no big deal. We got appetizers anyway. The food- nachos and wings were horrible. The waiter returned and told us that the drinks were not on happy hour either. We were not happy about it and complained to the owner. He told us that we would not be charged. We told him we just wanted the happy hour prices we read on the web page. We continued drinking thinking we would be charged the happy hour prices but when the bill came we were charged full price. That would have been ok if it were quality food and nice cocktails but the wings were rubbery and the nachos beyond basic. Store bought chips with some hamburger and cheese. $7.95 for a 16 oz Dos Equis draft is high. This bar is a train wreck. Whoever wrote reviews before mine had to be friends...
Read moreThis place is trash. The girl behind the bar was so rude and unbothered. She was more interested in talking with her friends, than taking our order (a party of three, ready to eat and drink). When she did finally come over to us, she had an attitude, acting like we were disturbing her for trying to place an order. When we finally got our wings, they were pathetic. The flavor was ok, but the wings were pitiful. They were tiny, scrawny things, the kind of wing that is so cheap, it feels like it was stuck together with meat glue. The bones broke when you tried to get what little meat was on them, off of them. Whoever purchases their food, definitely gets the cheapest option out there. For a downtown, main street location, this place is scraping the bottom of the barrel. It seems like they are bargain buying everything (including their employees) in order to afford their prime location. The only time the bartender was nice to us, was when she handed us our checks. I'm sure she only forced a smile and feigned politeness, in hopes of salvaging a good tip. Unless drastic changes are made, this place won't last long. I say,...
Read moreWe visited Greenville with a large group and coordinated with Hector prior to our arrival flto make sure the Goat could accommodate us. From the very start, Hector was helpful, responsive, and aimed at ensuring that our group wpild have a great time.
During our dinner, we had a group of about 25 and it was great. Sebastian started off with seating us and getting going. He was doing great, but a little overwhelmed. Shortly after, Julia jumped in and helped.... She is a rockstar. She got things moving along and was prompt for all our requests. She maintained a smile and pleasant disposition the whole time. No request was too much!! The service speaks volumes of how great The Goat GVL is!
The food was amazing as well. The burger was possibly one of the best I've ever had and several of our group LOVED the bowls. Definitely...
