After a little over a week I left a review this was a new pizza place and I thought it would be a great spot with new experience.. I came into the place tonight waiting in the line for very long time .. customers had jumped in front of me when I got in the front I addressed the customers and told them I thought it was rude for them to cut in front of me like that.. when I voiced my opinion they were a white male and two white females who literally were in my face.. very disrespectful to me.. I was the only black male in the line from the customers who cut in front of me and behind... This was the first time meeting I believe the guy who owns the restaurant the first experience I had I thought it was his wife but it was his mother she was very nice to me... I told her that I love this place and it would now be my new favorite pizza spot... The guy who owns the place I've heard nothing but good things about him.. my experience tonight was not so pleasant.. he was very rude to me and the customers who jumped in front of me were also rude to me he said not one word to them.. I asked him if he could tell the guy to get off of my back.. they were very rude and racist to me in this establishment and I was not expecting that.. this place sure fooled me.. the owner do not want us blacks and minorities in their establishment ... The mother totally different... I really was not expecting this tonight very sad and disappointing.. that's why I try to stay away from places like this because when it comes down to it we don't mean anything to these independent/etc.. places of business we are just money going into their establishment I have seen a difference tonight from the time I have visited the difference the treatment catering to caucasians and different treatment catering to brownskin and minorities. The owner by far was very rude to me.. I told him I would just leave he said good........ Will never step foot in that place again.Just horrible!!!!!! This place now reminds me of Tanner Big Orange that used to be located on South pleasantburg drive Greenville South Carolina.. were the owner would serve everyone of all ethnicity but behind closed doors will tell you how he really felt about minorities"... For those who know.. know.. saying racial slurs about people of COLOR".. I do not support this type of activity whatsoever!!!!!! I don't care how good the food is everyone deserves the same treatment...
Read moreThe MOST amazing Pizza 🍕 buffet in town ONLY OUTDONE BY THE BEST OWNERS!!! John and Linda greeted me personally and showed me a kindness that made me feel like family.
This was a last minute decision for a quick weekday lunch before an appointment at Fluor Field and it FAR exceed my expectations! Lunch was quick, hot, fresh and delicious. This would be perfect before a game, concert, theatre, or any event when you are short on time or are REALLY hungry and don't want to wait a million years for great food. I also love to BUY and SUPPORT LOCAL business owners (ESPECIALLY good ones with huge hearts who help others 💓)
FOOD The pizza was absolutely delicious and I could have eaten my weight's worth as the counter was full of everything from cheese to supreme, plus the most wicked garlic bread! They kept asking if everything was okay (I wanted to say "No my tiny tummy isn't big enough to eat another slice 😆😂") The Salad 🥗 bar had mixed greens with carrots and cabbage as a base with black olives (MY FAV) and all the toppings from pepperoni slices to pepperoncini, onions, mozzarella, tomatoes, and all the dressings ranch balsamic, Italian, etc...
SERVICE This is one of those truly amazing family owned AND OPERATED spots where you can feel REALLY taken care of and before you leave you can get a hug from the owner and get called Sister. You will want to go back again and again. They also have a location in Clemson and I voted for them for best in the Upstate They were CONSTANTLY in motion cooking, cleaning, and loving on us all as if we were guests, No strike that, FAMILY. Italian know how to show love like no others 🇮🇹
VALUE UNBEATABLE value for the money...just being your appetite and ALL YOUR FRIENDS OR FAMILY This is PERFECT for a group of those who like different kinds of pizza or just salad or stromboli or WHATEVER. Everything is delicious
ATMOSPHERE Many tables which could easily be pulled together to accommodate different parties and they threw open garage doors which totally changed the feeling. They have an amazing outdoor patio which has a backyard/ tailgating feel. It's largely covered with umbrellas and the ground is completely covered with astro turf... really charming and well done
LOCATION Easily accessible from Main street a block over from Fluor Field or from Academy
PARKING lots of...
Read moreAfter moving from New York to South Carolina in 2008 the search was on to find good New York style pizza in the Simpsonville/ Five Forks area and we did find two "acceptable" pizzerias.. then after moving to Greenville 5 years ago the search was on again with very little success. Being Italian, born and raised in New York and a second generation Chef specializing in Italian food I can be very.. well.. viciously critical. Then several years ago my wife heard of a new pizzeria opening up Downtown. Here we go again.. then a little more research and.. what.. huh.. their from... what.... New.. Jersey... Ughhhhhh ! So armed with my "cynical" hat as well as my black belt in sarcasm.. off we went. As soon as I walked in I was greeted with the magnificent aroma of well-seasoned (burnt on) fond from the the pizza ovens.. which can only be achieved at the proper "high" temperature, the result; By Far the best , most delicious, perfectly crispy new york-style crust that that has found its way to my mouth in more than two decades of searching below the Mason-Dixon line. For purists.. the "large cheese" is like a 12 hour trip up "the" I-95 to my crazy Uncle Vic's pizziaria in Brooklyn. And it's the perfect canvas when tastefully painted with thinly sliced pepperoni that will drip the prerequisite amount of amber-colored oil leaving the light glaze on your hand and soaking your paper plate (it's okay to blot it with napkins) So there's the basics. And while I still need to have a conversation with John regarding pizzas with fancy names or covered with fruit or pimento cheese. I'm fairly sure that he will not snatch your pizza back and throw you out if he catches you eating a slice any other way than folded in half while gripping the crust with your fingers.. like my crazy Uncle Vic in Brooklyn would. John and the rest of his crew have certainly proven to this New Yorker that great New York style pizza can come from their side of the River.. The...
