I have been eating here with my family for thirty years. Unfortunately, last night's visit, June 30th at around 10PM, might be my last. Typically, the service is exceptional. No matter how late or chaotic things get, we always rely on the consistency of this IHOP. Usually, we are served by Joyce, a wonderful waitress who never fails to go above and beyond and treat us like friends. Even during the jam-packed rushes that happen, we are met with kindness. Last night however, we left before even being seated.
We were waiting in the waiting area and were immediately snapped at by the lady working there. I did not catch her name. She told us not to stand in the waiting area because we're blocking the entrance. The restaurant was pretty empty, as was the parking lot. Aside from maybe one or two other guests, we were the only business happening. We weren't even standing in the doorway, just in front of the podium for a few seconds, waiting to be helped as we had just arrived. She repeated herself a few times, growing irate that we weren't sitting on the waiting benches before storming off without seating us. It seemed like that lady was the only one working there that evening, so instead of subjecting ourselves to her inexplicable attitude, we left.
My four star food review is based on all the times we've eaten here. It's not like it's gourmet fine dining, but always tastes generally the same, and consistency is great for a 24-hour eatery. The three stars are all for Joyce from past visits. I'd give one star if only for the lady last night, but feel like that would be unfair to the other, good employees. Atmosphere would have been a four based on the past, but I can't in good conscience say it's passable after being turned off after barely entering last night.
I can't see myself coming back as long as there's a chance I'll encounter that lady. I'm very disappointed to have had this happen after so many great,...
Read moreOn July 27th my family and I came in to eat dinner around 930pm. This was after our truck broke down 40 minutes from our hotel while on vacation from Pueblo. The service was absolutely awful. We waited to be seated for about 20 minutes. The restaurant had quite a few tables open. We would have left if it wasn't the only place open at that time of night walking distance from our hotel. The food was cold and blah. The waitress appeared very high and all over the place. Even made my 2 young sons uncomfortable. The waitress was an only lady 50s or 60s with long dark brown and grey hair. I didnt catch her name. My Bill was $44.95 and I tipped in cash The worst part of this whole experience... On August 9th I get a notification from my bank that I had a charge for $54.95 from the IHOP in Greenwood Village. Im back home in Pueblo. I immediately call the IHOP to find out what is going on. It took me 2 days to get in touch with a manager that would be able to look into this. They tell me that they have the charge in their system but no hard copy of the receipt. The manager did call me back to tell me that they would send back the unauthorized charges and to contact my bank. I have to wait 90 days for my bank to investigate this and give me back my money. Well IHOP only gave me back the $10 tip the waitress gave herself because they couldn't find the hard copy of the receipt. My bank account is still in the negative after what the waitress did. I'm going to be late paying my bills and getting my 2 kids school supplies. Don't go to this place if you don't want your card...
Read moreThis location used to be a lot better. I went around 3pm, hoping for better service during the slower hours. The food was good, although a bit cold. I didn’t want to complain, but didn’t really have the option, as my server never seemed interested in checking on me. She didn’t come to greet me when I sat down, but waited about 10 minutes then came to take my order. She kept telling me that I couldn’t order certain items that I wanted because they are on the “happy hour menu” and it was not happy hour. I said that’s fine, I’m not interested in the sale, I’m interested in the food but she must not have been understanding me because I had to go and point it to her on the regular menu as though she didn’t know that it was there. She then brought me a watered down orange juice with no ice, then I asked for a second one and it was not watered down but had ice. The manager was checking up on tables and I overheard that she was doing the same to others and they were NOT happy. The manager seemed to agree that it was unacceptable on her part and made it right. I did not complain to the manager, as it was probably her first job and didn’t want her to feel bad. After I paid, she just quietly walked off, no thanks...
