Where to even start;
Atmosphere: You walk in and immediately it's clear that much thought and effort went into the decor and seating etc. The seats are comfortable and add to the ambiance. We ended up speaking to the owner who told us he had many of the fun details brought in from the south of India (a fun car for a bar, motorbikes, art, tables etc). Dishes were served in very modern yet traditional metal dishes and plates that added to the experience and vibe seamlessly. All in all, unique and fun, not too much going on and not overwhelming but also not too little, just right.
Service: THIS is where the rating REALLY earns every star it deserves. I have a mother who, by nature of her sheltered southern origins is...resistant to the idea that she might even possibly enjoy Indian food, even getting her through the door of an establishment calling itself Indian is nothing short of a miraculous feat. We get in sit down and are greeted by a man with menus, who she promptly invited to sit down with us and ask for a recommendation for. He asked many very good questions before offering his rec (spicy or no? Meat? Texture? Rice? etc). She tells him with the utmost trust that he should NOT tell her what he suggests but instead just put in he order, and so he did (and she loved it!). Throughout the meal he stopped to chat, eventually telling us he was the owner and about the restaurant and his family etc. Amazing and above and beyond service, fantastic! Thank you Raam for finally getting my mom on the Indian food train!
Food: Another true hit that deserves all five of its stars. According to our server the menu has nearly 300 items listed and unlisted. We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala (yes I know, very American of me but hey, first time ever here and its a good gauge) and Telangana Lodi Korma/Chicken Korma (per Raam's recommendation) and of course rice and naan (garlic and plain). We were asked when ordering what level of spice we would prefer etc. Both dishes were a huge hit with the family, particularly Raam's expert recommendation which turned out to be the favorite. The chicken was tender and perfectly cooked in both dishes but distinctly diffrent. Fantastic and distinct flavor in both! Love them! The portions were well sized, feeding a table of three with two dishes and leaving enough for left overs to take home! I will certainly be back, for both the Chicken Korma and to try more expert recommendations and expand my pallet!
Thank you very much to Godavari for such a wonderful dining experience and for convincing my mom that she does in fact enjoy some Indian food! I heartily recommend this place to anyone, especially those that may be trying Indian food for the first time! We...
Read moreMy family and I have been a loyal customer for godavari for quit a few years. We usually visit this place once every month spending well over $100 + service tax which these restaurants add automatically to every check each visit. But yesterday dinner experience made us broke that tradition of coming to Gadavari now for a good time. I am very much surprised by the explanation that people working over there had given us as how to serve food when the entire order at the same table have been placed at the same time and all of our guests have ordered the entree and they are bringing food for all the people at different times and then telling us this is how they have been serving food acording to Godavari standards and by giving us an ezample of how americans reaturants serve food.Two of our guest have served food first and then after 20 minutes the remaining three and still at that point the food ordered by one of our guest haven't arrived and it's almost more than 30 minutes by that time.This is the worst customer service experience we had at this restaurant when two people are eating and others are still waiting for their food to come for quite a long time.It just completed broke our rythum of eating the food that we have ordered and we didn't enjoy any food ordered. We go to restaurants to have a great family time and enjoy the food at the same time not eating every one separately at the same table. THIS PLACE SERIOUSLY NEED TO CHANGE HOW THEY SERVE FOOD TO ALL THE PEOPLE AT THE SAME TIME AT THE SAME TABLE. Unless that is changed we will not go to this place in near future and would not recommend this place to anyone.If this restaurant is OK with loosing customers like us over the basic customer service that is very essential and the most important when it comes to serving food then we would absolutely give over business to some one else who definitely knows the basic principles of running an indian...

If you have time, read full story below:
Over the past few months, I’ve given Godavari multiple chances to redeem two of their popular starters — Gobi 65 and Masala Pepper Corn. Being a fan of bold South Indian flavors, I had high hopes. But after three consecutive orders, I feel compelled to share an honest review of my experience.
🍿 Masala Pepper Corn
This dish should be a firecracker of flavor, with buttery sweetness from the corn elevated by black pepper, curry leaves, and aromatic spices. Unfortunately, what I received was quite the opposite — nearly bland, under-seasoned, and strikingly low on salt. The masala was barely present, leaving the dish feeling more like boiled corn tossed with minimal effort than the spiced appetizer it promised to be.
🥦 Gobi 65
Now, this one’s especially disappointing. Gobi 65 is meant to be a crispy, spicy, and flavorful cauliflower fry that hits all the right notes — crunch, spice, and depth. But for the third time in a row, it turned out under-cooked and lacking in flavor. I had specifically requested them to pay extra attention this time, clearly mentioning the past issues — yet the result was no different. It seems the feedback wasn’t taken seriously, which is frustrating for any returning customer.
While I appreciate Godavari for its extensive menu and regional authenticity, consistency and attention to customer feedback are critical — especially when the same complaint has been raised multiple times. Both dishes have great potential, but they need better execution in the kitchen and a more responsive approach from the staff.
Until then, I’d recommend steering clear of these two items unless...
