NEVER Eating At Habit Again!!! have been eating Habit since way back in California in Santa Barbara all the way to Los Angeles and Glendale, etc.. for over 15 years same with friends and family. We eat habit once or twice week for sure and we always brings friends or suggest to friends and family, not anymore! On October 21, 2020 at 9:05p.m. (1502 Drawer 2) check/ticket 377 a young man helped me and took my order: 1 family char meal $23.84 He told me they will call me in 15min when my order is ready and to stand and wait in the covid waiting area. A lady behind me ordered her food for her husband and child. Then a gentleman behind her also ordered right after her. Then they put 2 online orders on the counter and then 2 separate people came and got their food and left, and then they served and gave the food to the 2 people who ordered behind me. Then I see them place some food on the counter and I I assumed it was another online order because it says online(uber eats, postmates, etc...) so after a while I ask where is my food you served 5 people after me. The guy who too my credit card order says oh this is your food right here everything is here there you go. I touched the bag because I knew the food has been sitting for a while on the cold counter. The food was cold. He said it is ot cold it just came out. I explained to him what happened and I watched this bag sit on the counter and not to lie to me. He said no it is hot and ready and I was wrong. Then I grab the food and th en change my mind and said I dont want this cold food. You made me wait her for more than 30min and then give me cold food when I ordered food for 5 people. Now you want me to go home with the cold food and have the other 4 people get cold food and ruin dinner? He said what do you want me to do, there is nothing I can do for you. I said what do you mean? You cant offer me anything for this terrible service and cold food for 5 people and waiting for a long time. No free drink something? He said no. I said I dont want this food. He said I can make it again and that's it. I said you are closing in about 15min. Your gonna a make me wait longer and the other 4 people wait longer and offer me nothing and make your staff work later for no reason? He said uea. I said no way give me my money back I was holding the food and he grabbed it and asked are you sure you wan to do this I said yes and he ripped the bags angrily out of my hand and mumbled some cuss words under his breath and walked away and threw my food to the side. Then he said he cant refund me on my card and can only give me cash. He angrily gave my money back and asked me to leave. Since service and quality of food has gone down we all just stopped going. We haven't been back since and almost forgot to post this review. He also told me he was the manager when I asked to speak to the manager but he was so young and unorganized I didn't believe him. If he is no wonder last couple months it's been not as good as before. Also my wife and her friend used to and still do work for Habit in Cali as managers so we know the rules and standards. He also never smiled. Also my wife works in the shopping center and eats Habit 3 times a week or more since the day they opened years ago because it is in the same shopping center. She has never been there since and just eats at Cafe Rio, and the nice restauranta and spends more money but that is no problem. We will pay more for better service and recognition and quality of food. Who serves cold.food to 5 people when it is supposed to be hot and fresh since why I came in, when I could be lazy or in a rush and do drive through at another place. Also this is the same jerk that always works there and has never been fired. So since they allow him to work there I will never go there. Same with my Wife and her friends and my friends. Which sucks because I'm the guy that buys everyone food...
Read moreUPDATE Found myself near Habit today...thought I should give them another chance...Pretzel Pub Char...much better than the burger I had before...(although, I did ask if I could please have one that's not burnt to a crisp) 🤗...but, I suppose this is essentially fast food...you can't ask for special treatment...just like others...McDs, BK, Wendy's, in n out, etc...you get what you get, right?...If I'm looking for medium rare...guess I make one at home or pay $20 for one at a more upscale place...if I come again, will try one of the chicken sandwiches...or a salad. 🤗 Also, the service was excellent this time...went inside, so they couldn't ignore me and pass off cold food like before.
Original review Ordered online from app. First order so, free burger with drink purchase...waited in car for 1/2 hour for carside...told her, thought they forgot about me...tipped her...asked, my burger isn't cold, is it?...she assured me not...WRONG!...was barely room temp...and looked like a piece of charcoal, hard cheese, embedded into the stale bun (it actually "cracked" upon picking it up)...lettuce wilted...tiny sliver of tomato...took a bite...nope...not even worth the price of the drink...thought maybe could take it home and "fix it up"...but not even warming up the "charcoal" burger helped...went into my garbage disposal... You would think if they are looking to garner new business by providing a "free burger" (with purchase) they would provide one that's edible. 🤮 Massive FAIL! How do these places even stay...

Habit Ambiance & Service: The staff has always been friendly and on point. The kitchen is quick with getting your orders out and I appreciate that I've always been asked if I wanted a side of ranch. The dining area is always clean and spotless. I've never seen an empty tray and I've seen numerous occasions where the staff wipes down and clears the table immediately after a customer leaves. You have contemporary lighting and overall dining area feels like a casual restaurant because it's spotless. The condiments area is also always clean, wiped down and I've never seen any stray jalapenos on the counter. Truly impressive..
Habit Burgers & Fries: Whether I'm getting a regular char or double char burger, I'll always add cheese and every burger has come out delish. Buns and veggies are always fresh and the burgers are put together neatly with pride. The consistency of providing a tasty burger quickly happens on every visit. The sweet potato fries is my go to side and they've never let me down.
