My husband and I had a horrible experience on 12/28/21 at Florio’s on The Broadwalk in Hollywood, FL. I went once or twice before a few years back and had a 1-star experience then as well, but I thought we should give it another chance.
We went to the front of the restaurant and no employees came up to ask if we wanted a table. I went inside and asked an employee if we could sit at the open tables and they said “yes.” A server came over and brought us 2 waters and 2 chocolate milks we asked for. The server brought over our drinks and she asked brusquely what we wanted and we ordered some omelettes or egg sandwiches. 10 minutes later my husband asked a female employee who wears a black chain on her face mask for a black coffee. She gave him a death stare and a curt nod without saying “yes.”
We next waited for 1 HOUR without a server coming to our table. We were not asked if we wanted more water or chocolate milk. My husband did not receive his black coffee. I went over to the female Latino-looking employee and asked for his black coffee & said he’s waited for 1 hour. She said “I’ll tell your server.” I told her that’s fine but that we asked her for the coffee and she said she’d bring it to us. She didn’t say anything & didn’t apologize.
Our other white, brunette server brought over the black coffee & I asked when our food will be ready. She said it’ll be coming out soon. I gave 15 minutes and said if it was not out 65 minutes after we sat down, that we would be leaving without it.
We stood up picking up our bags at the time we promised we would leave. Our server made her way over to us with the food. She did not apologize for what happened but eventually did give us a 10% discount. I asked her for a refill of our chocolate milks and she said “we don’t offer refills. We charge for that.” It was a weird statement because she could have said, “We don’t have refills but can get you 2 more chocolate milks for $4, would you like them?”
The food was good but it was not worth this experience. I will not ever go back. We were not the only other table with a poor experience. There was a table next to us who sat down before us and didn’t receive their food between 10:30-11:35 AM as well. 3 other tables received food before us that came after us. We almost always leave a 20% tip and only once in my life have I ever life a 0% tip (when there was a bug in my food). We did not leave a tip today either after how we were treated. If the 1st server apologized for forgetting the black coffee and if the 2nd server had apologized, we would have left a tip. The manager did not come out and apologize for this experience.
Restaurants with great-tasting food, outstanding service, and a great ocean view on The Broadwalk I recommend instead: -The Marriott -Bonnie & Read’s -Nick’s -Rocco’s (I don’t love their pizza but my family & a friend like it)

Read moreI'm genuinely not one to complain about restaurants, but the service here was terrible. Our waitress was unbelievably rude. We started by ordering Landshark on draft, the menu states draft beer pitchers are $9. We asked another waiter if Landshark was one of these options, and he said yes. Our waitress then returned to take our order. Dinner was served, food was decent, and there was nothing out of the ordinary, until the bill was given. When we went to pay, the Landshark pitchers were on the bill as $15 each, and figured there was a mistake. So naturally, we asked about it, but were willing to pay the $15 anyways if nothing could be done. The waitress, instead of saying "I'm so sorry there must have been some confusion, but let me see what I can do," argued about the price with an extremely rude tone, and then said "I'm so tired, why are you doing this?" She then called the waiter that told us pitchers were $9 and Landshark would be included (because it was on DRAFT) and asked him "why would you tell them that?" in front of us. And I wish I were making that up. Talk about a hostile work environment. He ended up apologizing to us later on in the evening, and was a really nice kid. After all this, the manager was spoken to, and it was taken care of without incident. I've never had a waitress who clearly did not care like this. I get it, a bad day can bring you down, girl, we all have bad days! But that does not mean you can act this way at work, and especially to people who were just inquiring about something completely reasonable. Like I said, we would have happily paid the $15 instead of $9 had there not been such an attitude problem. Hopefully we can return in the future when the wait staff is a little friendlier to both coworkers...
Read moreTERRIBLE SERVCE. ADDED GRATUTITY ON BILL. I rarely (if ever) post Google reviews and if I do, it is to leave a good review. The service of this restaurant is absolutely horrendous. I went with my family last night (5 of us) and we ordered a large cheese pizza and one chicken parm. After about 40 minutes of waiting, the chicken parm came out. We all shared that meal while we waited an additional hour for our pizza. Our waitress stopped at our table multiple times throughout our wait to inform us that our pizza is "coming" (whatever that means). A table near us was empty when we arrived, and then filled by a group of 5 that got there probably 20-30 minutes after us. It was the last straw for my family when we saw that table get served 3!!! LARGE!!! PIZZAS!!! WITH TOPPINGS!!! (Before we got our 1 plain cheese pizza that was ordered half an hour before them.) At that point, we told our waitress we would like to leave and to please provide us with the bill of what we already received. She comes back with our bill with the chicken parm on it, with an 18% gratuity added. This service was absolutely despicable, and the fact that nothing was done to correct the situation made it even worse. We demanded to speak with a manager, and she went back to get him and returned without him, saying he was "too busy to talk". We waited to talk to him, with the waitress going back and forth multiple times, each time coming back to let us know he could not talk to us.
