We recently visited this location and ordered some pastries and bread. While at the counter, we noticed that the top cover of the Basque cheesecake kept falling off. When we went to pay, we politely asked the cashier if she could secure it with tape, since the cover wouldn't stay on. She initially tried using the red circular 85° logo sticker, but it wasn’t sticking. We then calmly and nicely suggested she use the scotch tape that we saw on the counter behind her. As soon as we made the suggestion, her attitude shifted noticeably. She gave us a sharp look and walked very slowly and exaggeratedly to get the tape, returning with a rude attitude and an unfriendly facial expression.
We were disappointed by the way she treated us. We approached her politely, with friendly smiles, and made a reasonable request — yet we were met with unnecessary attitude. To make matters worse, she didn’t even say “thank you” or offer any kind of farewell after completing our purchase — no “have a nice day,” no acknowledgment at all. It was a cold, dismissive interaction that left a negative impression.
Before leaving, we asked another staff member at the drink station for her name and were told it was Daphne. The rude lady’s name is Daphne, She was an older woman, wearing glasses, a work apron, and a cap, small to semi medium body built, 5 feet tall some inches.
Additionally, while we were waiting for our car outside the store, we noticed Daphne outside watching an incident involving mall security and police on the other side of the parking lot. If she is in a supervisory or managerial role, it seems inappropriate to be leaving her station during work hours to observe unrelated activity, especially when customers are still being served.
We hope this feedback is taken constructively. We do enjoy the products here, but customer service is equally important — and this experience was disappointing enough to make us...
Read more2 reasons for the rating… 1.) I was trying to ask the cashier questions about the different lattes and their milk options for coffee- which he didn’t know. Granted he was younger and I could try to find a way to justify it but he just kept telling me “I’m not sure” before finally walking away to get answers. This just tells me that he was ill-trained and they should work on that. 2.) I dined in and that place is so freaking COLD! It genuinely ruined my experience because the whole time I just thought about how I couldn’t wait to leave. Aside from that, I opted for:
*Ham & cheese roll- 8/10 it tasted really good but it was extremely greasy and the rolled ham portion was very small (only in the middle of the roll) *Milk Butter puff- 10/10 super moist and I loved the filling *Jumbo coconut strudel- 10/10 it was a subtle coconut flavor but still very yummy *iced Vietnamese coffee 10/10- it has a kick to it but it was sweetened and creamed to perfection.
I’m usually very skeptical about places like this because of the prepackaging but everything I had tasted fresh and it still maintained its moisture. Give it a try but make sure you...
Read moreI had no idea this bakery opened up and told my sister in Cali we don't have one. Well my friend told me we did indeed, and I was overjoyed to venture here after lunch. It's located in a previous restaurant/bar (Pearl) which threw me off. They didn't have the cake my sister brought when I visited in Cali (all chocolate, super rich with cream cheese frosting) but I did try their mango pastry. It was so light and fluffy, fluffier than pound cake but denser than angel food cake. I also ordered a matcha one for the kid. There was tons of space to sit and eat which I might do one day. This is def a must if you want a sweet treat or just take a break from shopping. My item was not overly sweet...
