1/2025 Menu looks like it's been updated, and staff looks different. I wonder if the owner has changed. I had the double combination, which was still great, as usual. Again, sorry, I ate it all before I remembered to take pics. 1/2024 The food was so good, I forgot to take pics! 🤣 Fast and good. Try the triple combination. Rocks! I'll take pics next time cause I know I'm going back - again and again. They're like a lot of other restaurants going through hard times, but this location has persevered over many years. Mimi has been great over the years as well. It's all been pretty consistent! Great job!! 🤙✌ 4/08/22 They're still kicking it! Food is as great as always and really quick service!! 😋 🤙✌️ 10/2023 Still my Go To Favorites for sushi. Yes, there are many others in town, but they've been pretty consistent over the years I've been coming here. Very little has changed. The menu has evolved. My long-time favorite is the double and triple combination dinners. Sizzling scallops are always a popular specialty of theirs. Enjoy! 🙂🤙✌️

Authentic Japanese cuisine. Traditional restaurant menu similar to what is served in Japan. A few items, such as teriyaki ahi, is locally unique. Main menu includes sushi, udon, (noodles) donburi (rice bowls) and teishoku (set meals). Prices are reasonable. The tempura is excellent, lightly battered and not oily. The taste of deep fried items such as shrimp and vegetables is noticeable. The teriyaki ahi was tasty but the sauce was bit "koi" or strong and salty. Parking available next to restaurant. May become limited if nearby bar is reopened. Additional street parking available nearby. Lunch was uncrowded possibly due to reopening for fully vaccinated individuals. Vaccination card and ID required for entry. Would definitely visit again to try other menu items.

This sushi restaurant was the highlight of our dining experience while we were on vacation in Oahu this last week. It was a Thursday night. We didn’t have any reservations and happened across the restaurant while on a beer run. We were seated immediately and treated like family. We ordered the sushi and sashimi dish and the scallops (divine!). Everything was delicious. We devoured it all, forgot about the beer run and ended up at the nearby Korean soju bar (another treat). I wish this experience for everyone.

I will begin by saying this place is way over priced for what you get! Our waiter/Manager/host was very charming, smooth, but deceiving about the prices. I asked him to serve my wife a nice drink, the drink was close to one glass of wine and he says at the end that yea her drink was expensive $16.95! My one beer: $10.00 which wasn’t bad. But to charge $35 for a few small pieces of UNI… $25-$30 for a few Small pieces of butterfish that was burnt was just outrageous! I know my pricing! The sushi was not the best, it was mediocre at best. Wasn’t bad quality but not to charge quadruple of what the market is charging. Food was not bad but not worth they are charging. My check was $200 for a few appetizers and left still hungry!! Just because of this fact, they lost a customer! I will never pay what I paid for what we got here! I felt robbed leaving this place and when it sunk in I was angry that someone would take advantage of their customers like that! No wonder there was so much parking outside and tables available! I kinda felt bad for our waiter even though he was very kind and made friendly conversation so I still gave him a handsome tip.. The $5 gift certificate he gave me to snooze us even more doesn’t have much value for what they are charging for their F&B so ended up throwing it in the trash “should have gave it back to him.” “Warning” I would stay away from this place, there are way too many better sushi houses that are a much greater value and without ulterior price gouging for what the place down the street is serving that is much better and Charges less! There is a strip club next door so I think they really are catering to them with all their tip money. Don’t go here unless you like getting ripped off! Good luck, there are way too many places to eat in Hawaii. I’m in the business and operate a much larger company here in the island so I know prices and what to expect,, this is not one of them! Sorry guy but you f n ripped me off for what we got!! WILL...

Not sure why this was rated so high, i suspect the service and quality was better before the pandemic, but can't imagine how it could have fell so low.

Stopped by to have dinner with the family. Made reservations early enough to get seating. A few highlights of the poor service and average food quality: My $35 Chirashi didn't taste as fresh as it looked. The volume of food was also disappointing given the cost. I could have gotten equivalent, but better value at Kozo Sushi. Their popular Butteryaki Scallops tasted I and was tender, but also looked better in the pictures. We needed to request for tea multiple times before we got our first cup, then never got a refill, after asking for it multiple times. During the time we were there, many patrons came in saying they had a reservation, but they were told they are all full at the moment. Then was told to wait outside until they were called. Luckily we came early. We added a dish towards the middle of our meal that never came and while we were waiting they tried to convince us to cancel the order. Given the time we already waited for their service throughout the meal, it wasn't worth waiting any longer, so we canceled the order.

Bottom line, it seemed they were focused on turnover and profits, rather than providing quality customer...

I'll preface this with the food and sushi chef are great. It was one of my favorite places...

I used to love going here - a small, intimate place with well presented, tasty sushi and excellent customer service. What happened? I can only guess the management changed, and until it changes again, I won't be patronizing or giving this place a recommendation.

To start: the food was as good as ever. Everything was fresh, the sushi chef was excellent with terrific cuts. I usually site at the sushi bar and enjoy speaking with the chef, however, I choose to sit at a table for the first time. Mistake. The manager constantly interrupted us in the middle of conversations, encouraging us to order more and when I did order, one of the wait staff openly questioned my order. I could even hear across the room! Then, I could hear the wait staff (no one behind the sushi bar, who were excellent) griping about various topics. Whatever ambience there was, was sucked into this void.

It's unfortunate, since I've been going here for awhile. The food and chef's are still great. Everything else, well, enough to share a 1 star review. It's a shame this happened at one of my favorite places and completely...
