Tldr: Invited family to restaurant and paid for meal and tip only $5 dollars after a below average service. Stopped by waiter and waitress asking for more tip after we tipped them.
I think I'm a patience person seeing as from other post about me waiting for my meal after someone behind me got theirs before me. The restaurant was pack and service took a while for our table. We had to ask for water and when we order alcohol the waitress left before I could order my alcohol drink. I did not mind and waited for her to come back. When we did order our food in came in cycle and took a while for ramen to come in. The two chicken donburi came first and meat was a little dry but I was ok with that. Had a little misup when a dish came in that we forgot that we order, because it took a while, it was our honest mistake. Didn't even mind when waiters were talking with other table while we waited for the spoon we asked for our mom, twice, before we got it. This made our experience with the food Medicare and to be honest wouldn't warrant a review from me.
As we we walking out I did not leave a tip on card but with cash instead as I usually do. The waitress stopped us outside asking for their tip. I explained to her we left the tip in cash. I thought that was it. As we were about to cross the street they stopped us again asking for more tip. This really ruined our night as they came off very rude. Many people tip for various reasons and should you choose to tip or not is on you, but when someone ask for more tip I find that very rude. It isn't mandatory and they should honestly be better about American unique tipping custom. This argument about how much you should tip is a bigger topic that I don't want to get into. I just thought I was already decent enough to leave something even when I did not want too. We spent a total of $107.95 + $5 tip.
Ps. The waiter did not even want to shake my brother's hand after they talked to leave...
Read moreI went three times to this place, but only ate there twice. I originally rated them 5 stars because the first time was a good experience and their food is really good; we went during lunchtime. The second time we showed up for dinner and didn't know we had to make a reservation, the lady at the front was rude and talked to us like we should have known this; she said we could wait 45-60 mins to be seated, we left that day. The third time we got there early, I didn't realize it because the time was different on the door vs. Google maps; I was not paying attention to the hours. The door was open, so I walked in. The lady at the front said they were not open yet and asked me to wait out side, I looked at the sign outside and realized we had 30 mins to wait. We were the first in line to get into the restaurant. When opening time came around, nobody came to let the people know we could come in, so 5 mins later, I opened the door and asked if we could come in yet. The lady said yes and placed us at a table. There were four other small groups. We were seated first, placed our order second, and received our food last. When we went to pay, we were going to leave a cash tip so we didn't put a tip on our receipts. The lady who was at the front desk got attitudes and repeated herself several times, "Was the food not good." It caught us off guard, and I finally replied with "yes, the food was good. Why are you asking?". She said because you didn't leave a tip. She continued with her attitude and made comments about how we should have said something... I finally got a word in and told her we left a cash tip, and then her attitude changed. She said thank you and have a nice day. Everything up until that point, I let go, but that ruined this...
Read moreHell to the yes. Go here. STAT. We had so many delicious dishes here today.
To start we had a fresh watercress salad with a miso sesame dressing. A perfect start to our dinner experience.
Then it was on to the yakitori chicken hearts. Lightly salted and robust flavor. I recommend if you’re into dark meat and slightly chewy texture.
Next up was yakitori Saba. A flaky mackerel fish that, again, was seasoned perfectly. Topped with fresh lemon and a side of Daikon. Yum.
On to the yakitori Prawn. Salted and delicious. Eat the whole thing you won’t regret it.
Then yakatori Enoki mushrooms wrapped in shiso and bacon. Juicy, salty, with a little seaweed. Delish. 100% recommend
Then miso butter corn ramen. Oh HELL yes. If you don’t get anything else get this. Salty, creamy, and tasted like a childhood. Whatever that means. Kidding. It’s just SO good!!
Last but not least the okonomiyake was ono-frickin-licious. Talk about a perfect blend of thinly sliced pork-almost crispy, hidden under eggs on sprouts on noodles and fresh cabbage. Top it off with that classic Ökonomie sauce and I may as well be in Japan. This place knows what...
