I absolutely adore this izakaya. I don't know what happened a year ago for it to get such dismal reviews, but you can trust that the staff here have been dedicated to rectifying those complaints. I first tried this place last year and got the Oden and I could not stop thinking about it since. Came back to Oahu for the holidays this year and this was the number one place on my list I wanted to take my husband to. It did take a while to get through to make reservations over the phone but I started calling as soon as they opened, so needless to say they were busy but it's worth getting reservations ahead of time so I didn't mind. The staff here are so polite and on top of things. Even though there were a couple of big parties, they took care of us right away and got our orders done. They let us know beforehand over the phone that it might take a while for the food because of the parties, but the drinks came out fast so it was nice to just chill and have a chance to relax. The food here is phenomenal. This is my favorite place for oden. The fish here is also one of the best on the island. The tonpeiyaki was delicious. I will come here every chance I get whenever I'm back home.

Small place tucked in the middle of mccully shopping center. We were lucky to get in without reservations and not much of a wait. People here usually sit, drink and eat for long periods of time. First we got the deep fried battery mackerel. It was lightly battered and deep fried to perfection. Served with a side of tartar sauce. It was a good way to start. Mentaiko pizza worth a try but nothing to write home about. A nice little appetizers that won't fill you up. Chicken nanban was ok. Felt like it was just stir fried and tossed in mayo. Probably can skip this one. Pork yakisoba light in flavor but overall Still satisfying. Asked for chili pepper. Guy seemed to be confused. I don't know why. Either you have some or you don't. Okonomiyaki, well it's in the name of the restaurant. Overall pretty good with batter to ingredients ratio. Would like more sauce. Overall experience was ok. Don't expect too much this place. Service could have been better. Guy was on computer while we sat there at the bar without water or an option to order drinks.

The service sucked. I went in without a reservation, fully ready to wait for a table. The host/server lady just didn't wanna help me at all. She just told me well the tables are all full so. probably expecting me to just leave and find another restaurant. i told her I'll wait and she goes well you can put your name on the waitlist but idk how long you gun be waiting. Probably should just left right there and then but I ended up waiting for 15 min until a table emptied up. another server came by to take the orders. Btw whatever food photos you see on Google are probably old. They've since changed their menu and are serving much less variety of foods. I was told the okonomiyaki takes about 20-25 min to complete but ended up taking 1 hr. The same hostess lady brought our food over but gave it to another table. Another time she put the food on the table then took it away because she "forgot something". At this point it's just pathetic and laughable. The food was just mehhh and not worth it after all that time waiting for it. Won't return.

This is a very popular place to eat for everyone that lives around the Mcully area. This is located on the 2nd floor of the Mcully Shopping Center. This is both trendy and casual depending on what you define in both questions. I also see a lot of Orientals eating here because I think it's how the food would be made in their country and they have a huge assortment of items on their menu. The only time I've seen people standing outside is during the weekend but don't get me wrong because I am not sure if they had just eaten their and having a breather outside because they are so much of the yummy foods there or they're actually waiting in line to get a table to sit down and order from. I have only been there twice so I cannot honestly say which it was. But I can honestly say that it's a very nice comfortable place to eat. You will find something for everyone to enjoy. The service is at its best at all times and the prices are a little about average so it's a little bit more than I'm used to spending in a place like this. But I have to say I will definitely eat there again and will also recommend this place to friends and family....
