If you buy something from this bakery, you should check your receipt well if they charge you the correct amount.
I've been thinking it's pretty good quality bakery in Honolulu, especially because I like their strawberry shortcake, so I came back to this bakery. This time, I bought a few pieces of cake and one Madeleine. I paid for them with a credit card and got a receipt. When I received it, I found out the price of "Madeleine" was quite costly. When I grabbed a Madeleine, I just glanced at its price, so I came back to Madeleine's side and checked the price again. The price display for the Madeleine stated "$2.20", but it states "$3.60" on the receipt. So, I asked the clerks why the price is different between 2 of them. 2 clerks couldn't answer my question, and finally one lady who looked like a manager or owner came out later and she apologized. She said that the refund can't be established today if I want to get a refund for the original payment method. I got a cash refund. I don't know if they fixed their price so as not to show the wrong price on the receipt anymore after this issue, but that was not a happy experience even if it was small money.
Also, I feel like the taste of their confectionery/cake doesn't taste as good as before. About the Strawberry cupcake, it was hard and the circular shaped cream of Montblanc was not hanging around each other well, separated out too much. They tasted like they had passed quite long after baking.
I hope they improve their cakes' quality and service. The clerks were not friendly at all, inattentive, never smiled, and didn't know how...
Read moreHorrible. I visited this place today (April 9th 2023 at 4pm) and received the worst customer service from a lady working here.
After I purchased a $67 birthday cake with my credit card , I asked the lady if she had a candle. She said it would be extra $1.31. So I gave her my credit card again and she said “minimum $5” so she said I have to pay a candle with cash as it is less than $5. Is she kidding? I just paid $67 with my card and she did not say a candle costs extra. She should have asked me first if I needed a candle or at least accepted my credit card again as I already just paid $67. It doesn’t make sense and obviously no customer service over here. I will never come back again.
What was funny was I gave her $1.75 as I did not have the exact amounts.
But She did not have a change so she had to look for the change from the TIP Box at the counter loool That is so unprofessional. If they do not have any cash with them and have to look for the change from their tip, just do not accept any cash and do the business with a...
Read moreOver three years, this patisserie was my wife and my own favorite, the only place on the whole island to get the delicate pastries, frambois, cakes and mousse that make life more bearable. To that end, it was also where we traditionally got our anniversary and Valentines Day cakes, preferring the chocolat gateau. For newcomers and tourists, i suggest the strawberry shortcake, a delicate and aestethically pleasing variation on the classic, or the berry frambois. The mont blanc is quite airy, however, and should only be approached by those with a sweet tooth. By comparison, the chocolat mousse is savory, dark, and rich as sin. No matter what you get, to complete the taste, I would suggest their boba tea, or to grab a drink at the cafe in the Barnes and Noble...
