Wonderful place for authentic Cajun food. You can always tell a place is good based on the how busy it is. Food was authentic and served piping hot. Also, the waitress (Lulu) was the hardest working server I have ever seen. She runs back and forth with all these hot liquid dishes with a great big smile or her face. I estimate she is doing the work of 3 people... When you walk in, you are immediately hit by all the rich, delicious smells from the kitchen. I ordered the BBQ shrimp plate. For those you are not familiar, this is a butter based sauce with Cajun seasoned shrimp served with bread (see picture). It is not what people traditionally think of BBQ. An absolute must visit if you are in Birmingham traveling south on 280. Not only will I be back, I plan on entertaining business colleagues here as well.

Okay this was absolutely amazing! I sat outside it was beautiful weather. By the way on Thursdays they have a guy that comes to play guitar from between 5:30 and 7:30 I think The food was absolutely to die for, it was great I got the seafood platter and with it came a side which I got jalapeno black eyed peas. Also got a little bowl of gumbo, it was amazing. Great food great Cajun style great taste, the server was really really really really really really friendly she was really really really kind, This place is phenomenal. I'm glad to know that it's not too far down the road! The restaurant was really clean there wasn't dishes everywhere. There was no trash everywhere there was no trash on all the tables, it was a clean store, and it's got a great authentic Cajun look and smell, it was great!

The gumbo was overly spicy and had a texture more like rice and gravy, lacking the traditional flavor profile. I ordered the catfish platter, and when I asked the waitress about the fish, I pointed out that catfish shouldn’t be pink. Fish was cut like chicken strips. The french bread was hard as a brick with melted margarine. The shrimp etouffee tasted overwhelmingly of black pepper, as if an entire bottle of McCormick's had been used. I sent the entire plate back and still had to pay for it. When I raised the issue, the waitress mentioned she wasn’t a manager and that nothing could be done. Overall, the food didn’t live up to its name, and there was nothing authentically Cajun about it. As a visitor from Louisiana, I was disappointed. I would rate it 0 stars.

I've never written a review or taken the time to complain on anyone or any business; however, the service that my family received at this business was not only extremely poor but the response from the manager/owner "LuLu" was sickening. I'm not going to play the race card; however, I will say that we were the only minorities in the restaurant and EVERYONE was served except us, including several guests that came in after us. After an hour of waiting to have our order placed, we finally got the waiter's attention and he snobbishly blew us off with no apolody or ackowledgment for the poor service. Upon leaving the restaurant, we attempted to contact the manager, and a person name "LuLu" answered the phone and stated she was the "manager of the day". We very calmly explained our experience to her and she sharply and aggressively responded, "what do you expect me to do?" We shockingly replied, "we wanted to bring the incident to your attention to improve customer service".....she sharply said "OK!" and hung the phone up on us. I refused to believe that she was the "manager of the day", so I called back and calmly asked to speak with a different maneger, and she said she's the only one, so I asked for the name of another manger that would be there another day and she said, "I'm the OWNER!" and hung up on us again. I sincerly hope that our experience is not the norm for this restaurant; furthermore, I hope that "LuLu" is not the manager. This service made me sick...

The worst restaurant experience I have EVER had! I am an extremely laid back/nice person almost to a fault, but this outing drove me over the edge. A co-worker and I went out to lunch there at 1130 sat down and after over an hour of waiting and a "computer glitch," we had to leave the restaurant without being served even though ppl who sat down after us DID get served. So I called back to the restaurant at 1245pm and whoever the manager on shift was answered the phone. HE WAS A TOTAL A**HOLE!!!!!! He admitted it was their mistake, also admitted that they wasted our time (we were late getting back to work), and he also admitted that another customer who had the same issue but had enough time to stay get their meal on the house. I told them if we decided to come back and give them another chance would they make it right, and HE SAID THEY WOULD NOT DO THAT! HE EVEN HAD THE NERVE TO SAY I "WAS FISHING FOR SOMETHING FOR FREE!!!" So in all, he wasted our time, we didn't eat, we had to deal with being late back to work, we get insulted. Even if there food is good or you have been a long time customer of these guys who just so happened to have "not gotten screwed over" by a mistake yet, DO NOT GO BACK TO THESE GUYS UNTIL THEY CAN SHOW THAT EVERY CUSTOMER COUNTS! THey think b/c they have a lot of customer volume right now that they don't have to worry about pissing ppl off, but rest assured YOU REAP WHAT YOU...

I visited with a few friends recently and was excited to enjoy some crab legs. Since Joe's crab shacked closed I haven't enjoyed some good crab legs. I ordered the snow crab and it was very disappointing. They give you 3 clusters with no option to add more. I would of paid additional money to add another one. The food comes out and I was excited. I always start with the smallest leg and work my way to the bigger ones. For starters I thought the price was great for what I was given until I started cracking it open and there was hardly no meat in the first cluster. The meat I did eat was so salty that I had flag down my server and tell them I couldn't eat the other 2. Now if you knew me you would know I love my food to have lots of salt (more than average) but this was so saturated in salt that my lips with drying out. They did remove it from my bill and gave me an alternate meal which was good. I only leave this bad review because these crab legs were the worst I have ever eaten. I would recommend staying away from them. I ordered the shrimp with 2 sides and got it to go and it was good. Personally I wouldn't go back just for that replacement meal. I was really hoping this would be the place to get good crab legs but it is not. The servers were nice but I personally don't see me going back for...
