I would give 0 stars if I could. My reason for coming to Maggiano’s today was to try out the food before I scheduled a catering for the company I work for. When I walked in and sat at the bar Ebony said “Hello, I need to see your ID” she walked away for a couple minutes to train the new bartender then she returned and said I need to see your ID. I asked for a menu and she said I need to see your ID first. I have never been carded so rudely before so I asked was this standard procedure. She said we card every one who looks under 4O and that I should take it as a compliment. I’ve been carded many of times before but her tone was extremely rude and abrasive. I did not expect this type of greeting/interaction from an establishment such as Magiano’s.
I proceeded to ask her for the lunch special so she walked me to the carryout to order my food to go. I returned to the bar to order a drink. I noticed the bartender in training messed up my drink. I understand he was in training but I wanted a quality made cocktail that I could enjoy within the 15 mins I had left on my lunch break. I asked her if she could make it for me she said no he’s going to remake it and I’m training him. I voiced my displeasure with her demeanor she had with me from the time I walked in. I proceeded to ask for a manager. Cory came out and I expressed my frustration with the service I had received from Ebony. He replied in a snarky sarcastic manner that “they” take TABC very seriously and all I needed to do was wait one minute for the bartender in training to remake the drink and everything would be fine. In total disbelief and dissatisfaction I asked for a refund on my to-go order.
While I waited for Cory to return with my receipt a gentleman walked up and sat to the bar. Ebony did not ask him for an ID. He had hair on his face but he looked under 40 to me and in regard to Maggiano’s standards he should have been carded.
Ebony and Cory both need more training with etiquette and not use the TABC as an excuse for bad service. This was my first time in your restaurant and my...
Read moreYesterday, we celebrated the 3rd anniversary of my daughter and son-in-law at Maggiano’s Post Oak, one of my favorite American-Italian restaurants. As residents of Katy, Texas, we were willing to navigate through heavy Friday night traffic, passing by other locations to dine at this particular one.
Due to the traffic delays, we arrived later than expected, but I had called ahead to inform the host/hostess, who assured me that we would be accommodated upon arrival.
Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by a beautiful, well-maintained space and a warm, welcoming hostess (whose name I will confirm on my next visit to update this review).
Our server, Sara, was incredibly kind with a bright and engaging smile. She, sincerely cared to make sure everything was made to satisfaction. My favorite appetizer is their Fried Zucchini and that aioli sauce is to die for! For anyone looking for an exceptional drink, I highly recommend their Grand Margarita—it was outstanding.
I’d also like to commend Andrea, one of the many managers on duty, for her exceptional service. While we did have a couple of minor concerns, I will refrain from elaborating, as Andrea promptly addressed and resolved them when another manager did not. Andrea made a lasting impression, reminding me of my own experience as a restaurant manager. She ensured that my daughter and son-in-law had a truly memorable anniversary celebration, going above and beyond to ensure their happiness and satisfaction.
Ultimately, the evening was a success, especially since my son-in-law, a chef himself, commented, “The food was great!”—a rare compliment from someone with such high culinary standards.
Overall, our experience at Maggiano’s Post Oak was enjoyable! On my next visit, I plan to request a seat in Sara’s bar area for an even more...
Read moreI wanted to share some feedback regarding my recent visit to your restaurant, as I believe it is important to provide constructive comments to help improve the overall guest experience.
Unfortunately, my experience did not meet the expectations I had for an upscale establishment such as yours. I ordered the lasagna priced at $24, but found the portion size to be quite small, especially considering it did not come with a salad or any accompanying side.
Additionally, the service was somewhat disappointing. Our party consisted of over 45 guests, with approximately 20 seated at our table. However, the waitress only brought out three sets of bread plates, each containing two pieces of bread. By the time she returned with olive oil, balsamic vinaigrette, and Italian seasoning, most of the bread had already been consumed, which diminished the overall experience.
I also ordered a top-shelf margarita priced at $16, but the glass was only half full. It seemed unusual compared to other establishments where the glass is typically filled more generously. The ambiance was another concern. The lighting was quite dim for a 5 PM dining time, with candles creating an atmosphere more suited to a romantic dinner rather than a group gathering. Moreover, the staff appeared relatively young and inexperienced in customer service, which was noticeable throughout our visit. Lastly, I was surprised by the scent of incense burning near the bar area, which was unexpected and somewhat distracting. I share this feedback with the hope that it will be helpful in enhancing the dining experience for future guests. Thank you for taking the time to consider...
