Was craving for some cheap Asian food late at night (after midnight) and came across this place - FIRST TIME eater. 🌯🍙🍱 Never eat here before and was just checking out the prices via Google map. I called the restaurant & was planning on making a to-go order. However when I asked the guy (whoever I spoke with over the phone) if the prices are accurate over the web (cuz A LOT of restaurants' prices aren't updated & are actually inaccurate), the guy said to me: We have changed ALL of our menus! So it's best to come in to the restaurant and order from here. Since everything is completely different & all the prices have changed!!! (according to the server I spoke with)
So I did..... went into the restaurant & did a take out. Well, it took me a quite bit to look over the entire menu and decide what I want to eat! 😋🍜
However when I was ordering my food, the entire experience of my to-go order was VERY unpleasant!!! 🙄😨😒😡 The server that took my order was just straight up being rude & was EXTREMELY impatient with me the whole time during the process of taking my order! (spoke & behaved with negative attitude straight up, it was VERY uncomfortable! 👿)
Then, I sat down and waited for my to-go order afterwards. During the time I was waiting, I took the opportunity I got & looked over the entire menu again. The prices seems the same just as what Google posted on here... really wish I would've just order my food over the phone & by the time when I arrived it'll be all ready to go! 😞
But yeah, it actually didn't take that long for my food to be ready - probably 10 mins max!!! 🙆🏻
My suggestion: This is a great place for late night eaters!!! 💖 Though I do think their food is just so-so & customer service really sucks BIG TIME tho (well, according to my first experience! Not sure if I would ever go there...
Read moreWe as a community need to quit coming to these places that don't value us as the consumer as their bread and butter that keeps them in business. This place has changed too much and only in negative ways. I always order the same items Spring rolls pork fried rice the garlic beef and salt and pepper wings. The chicken in the spring roll was raw one time sure I got refunded and gave it back to them but the guy was mad and it was his staff who messed up yet he was passive aggressive with me. The rice is a hit or miss these days either no bland or too salty. Wings soggy or too hard. Garlic beef has very little beef sometimes its chewy and weird. I don't really eat big portions but I like left overs but here that's not likely cause the portions have gotten smaller and the prices have gone bigger/higher. I don't have issue with paying a price for what I want but when yall are giving bad service and giving less food and charging more and being Jerks that's unacceptable. I won't come back ever over 8 years of dining with yall and this is what yall have become. Sadly I doubt that yall will do better and change for the good cause yall know people will still come by. but hopefully more people realize that the only way yall will understand how much you're hurting us is by not coming anymore. And I'm not rude I'm actually kinda shy and reserved but I'm tired of people places and things being rude mediocre and pricey. I can't keep paying for bad treatment and bad food. I love dining out I live the experience positive ones. It's just ridiculous. Also I understand why prices have gone up but that doesn't mean the food taste and quality goes down. And the cherry on top YALL ARE RUDE....
Read moreMai’s is one of those places where you get what you get. For example, you may get bland pho but you’re also there eating at 3 a.m. and there aren’t many places open that late/early. We went for lunch and it was a relief to see the person who used to fight people in the parking lot gone, but Mai’s is very different than what it used to be.
The prices are more expensive than other places with a bowl of pho tai (pho with just rare sliced beef) is $14 and a bowl of pho tai nam bo vien (pho with rare sliced beef, brisket, and meatballs) is $18. I would be OK with the price is this was the best pho I’d ever had, but the broth is bland and served without Thai basil. It was underwhelming. The spring rolls with grilled pork were also OK. We also had the garlic tofu. It’s my wife’s favorite dish here and she used to drive from Galveston to get it. She said, it’s different with the addition of lime but still flavorful.
The bathrooms could use an upgrade. They were not very clean and needed attention. We went at lunch so we were seated immediately, food arrived immediately, and we had attentive service. The entire experience was kind of meh. I especially did not care for the flimsy little plastic soup soups for the pho. If you put the entire spoon in your mouth you’ll definitely cut yourself. Why are we being served plastic spoons for these prices?
If you’re looking for delicious pho I’d recommend Pho Saigon. If you’re looking for a place to eat after a late night event I’d...
