Took my daughter here for her birthday. 1st there is no parking. You have to use the garage next door. Horrible. Charges you by time.Elevator broken, machine to pay ticket broken had to use the stairs. When we left Exit signs aren't set up correctly, sent me to a deadend! Ha. Oh & the receipt wasn't given & you have to use a card. No people! Ok food, I have never been here. You sign in at a tablet at the door. Nice waiting area. It was super busy was about 1:30 on Sunday. Sat us down, we picked counter. You have a tablet above your head. If you don't see what you want, order it on there. If you hit the pic, it will give you details. Ordered my Diet Coke (YEAH COKE place). The robot brings it to you! Now if you need a refill you need to call them on the tablet. Guess the robot doesn't do refills.Sushi was really good. F.Y.I. the sushi plates in the dome, the dome didn't want to go up!. I felt dumb, thinking it was just me. But it wasn't! I think you unsnap the plate right away then the dome goes up! Go figure. Also, if you order something on the tablet it will come to you on a belt above the regular sushi belt. They zoom by really fast! Funny to watch! I don't recommend the Taiyaki (fish shaped dessert). It was way fried hard & kind of greasy. Is filled w/red bean paste & has vanilla ice cream. Just wasn't to my liking. Now the Hokkaido Milk tart was yummy! You are charged per plate each is $3.05 each Soda is $3.30 each the Taiyaki w/ice cream was $5.20 each. If you eat 15+ plates you get a prize. Total w/my daughter we had 17 total sushi plates. So the total bill was $ 74.53. so tip on top, so I gave them $90.00 I tip good. If you can't tip - go to a fast food place! Pretty pricey. But it was for her birthday & that is what she wanted. In general I hate going anywhere Downtown or Midtown. But whatever, she picked. Just remember you have to pay for parking next door too. Ours was $7.00 when we left. The waiters were on it. You called them & they came right away! I didn't add any photos because there are...
Read moreThis is a great place to quickly get some good fresh sushi, Japanese soups, and Japanese sides. You can get table service but IMO counter service is the way to go. At the counter all of the various dishes rotate past you on an elaborate conveyor system. If you see anything you want, you just simply reach up, grab the food dish, raise slightly upwards to trigger the lid to lift, and then set the food plate in front of you. If you don't see something that you want rotating around quickly enough for you, there is a touch operated menu screen above the conveyor system in front of you. Use it to order the foods you want and they will be promptly prepared and sent back exactly to your location on a reverse conveyor system immediately above the primary conveyor system. Each dish contains from 2 to four pieces and costs between $3 and $4. The soups are good servings that cost around $4. There are a few desserts costing from $3 to $4. There is also a variety of sodas and beers from which to choose for a beverage. An amusing novelty is that a robot will deliver your drink order to you. Tallying the bill and paying is automated and relatively simple. You just insert the plates that you have taken into a slot located behind the counter where you are sitting. And the overhead touch screen lets you see you tab and pay with Google Pay, Apple Pay, or entering a credit or debit card number and authorization code.
The one detraction is the road construction currently taking place in front of the restaurant and to it's side on Holman Street. You can still easily navigate to the restaurant if you plan in advance to park in the Public Parking Garage which you access off Travis between Winbern and Holman. You can still walk out of the Holman Street exit of this garage to get to...
Read more"Moody is the best Manager around" . Ok I posted this review about a month or two ago. I had just left the restaurant and was very excited. I wasn't there to eat, I rode my bicycle there to try and apply for a job. I had previously called a couple of days before. I spoke with a gentleman on the phone who said his name was Moody the manager. He told me to come in that day I believe. I couldn't make it that day but totally didn't inform him. So the next day, the day that I posted the review. I got dressed up, rode my bicycle there and walked in. I spoke with someone up front asking about work. I said I'll bus tables, wash dishes, whatever work they had and that I had spoke with a gentleman named Moody the previous day. The man said, "Oh, Moody's here! Let me go get him". After waiting about 10mns, a big tall gentleman finally walked out with an application and a pen. He said his name was Moody and he was expecting me the day before. Anyways, I go on to tell him I've been in the restaurant industry for 20+ years and I'll do whatever. We talk at length and he goes on to say, "Why bus tables? You should manage". I go, "Really?!". He says, "Sure!". He leaves me to finish filling out the application. He's comes back about 10mns later to see where I'm at. I show him I just finished the basic information and was about to move onto job history. He puts his hand on top of my application and says, "Oh don't worry about that part. You don't need to fill that part out. The head bosses are going to be here tomorrow and I will hand it directly to them". We shake hands and I immediately leave. I get on my bicycle and ride off into victory! Or so I thought. I get home to tell my family all the good news. So proud that it went so well. I say all that to say this, he...
