So, I've been here a couple of times. Wanting it to be delicious. The first time i had catfish and shrimp. Was disappointed with it. Seemed like they needed to clean the grease it was fried in. It was dark and overly oily. The second time i went i got the shrimp poboy. It wasn't the best one I've had but definitely want the worst either. That poboy is what made me decide to give Sam's one more try. I went today and got the fried mushrooms, and a 1lb crawfish boil. The mushrooms were good. The crawfish was very bland and fishy tasting. Ive had my fair share of crawfish in my life. I lived in Louisiana for almost 10 years. And i knew that it wouldn't be that same as it was there. But , even the boil liquid has next to no flavor. The seasoning the pot on the crawfish after the cook is really good. But the deep fried sausage that comes with it was not. If your billing the crawfish why not cook the shrimp and sausage in the boil as well. It would only add flavor. Anyways, I feel that it's not a bad place ingeneral but to say it's a cajun place... Well it's not that. Nothing about this restaurant days cajun except there sign. It rather disappointing for myself. Because i was desperately looking forward to having a cajun restaurant here. And i really wanted it to be so good. But it's simply adequate...
Read moreI struggled with this rating. The food here is great. I was very surprised, but every new restaurant puts out their best food at first. The restaurant has closed early on several occasions due to supply shortages because of food stock running out. I however wasn’t to thrilled on the pricing and the wait time. I’ve gone back to buying my own oysters and frying them at home because it’s cheaper and quicker. When I placed my order I was shocked by the high total even though I knew it was going to be high, but not more than $2 per oyster. I also was informed after paying for my item, I would have an one hour wait time. I wasn’t very happy and wished she would’ve said this before I ordered. She explained they were already short staff and hadn’t scheduled enough people to work that day. So I was confused, did they not hire enough people for the opening, or did they just not schedule enough people to actually work? I will try again after the location slows down on the amount of customers, but I do hope this doesn’t affect the taste of the product. I sadly choose a refund rather than the one hour wait time and that is why I have issue with leaving a review. I did however see a family member who allowed me to sample a fry, and it...
Read moreNOTHING SOUTHERN OR CAJUN HERE!! Hubby and I have been looking forward to giving this place a try as we LOVE Southern and Cajun food. Got 1 lb Cajun crawfish, 1 crab cluster, grilled shrimp (daughter). Smallest hush puppies I've ever seen, no flavor. Crawfish were tiny no claws, no flavor. Crab no flavor, green beans were supposed to have a little kick, were plain as you could get and mush. All of the corn, potatoes, eggs and sausage didn't touch any seasoning until it was plated. The Cajun seasoning was not Cajun in any way. It was a butter sauce with about a pound of salt per plate dumped over the top of everything. Daughters shrimp was a ok, fries were ok. Absolutely everything was way overcooked. At 8 pm they stopped taking some in orders and didn't bother to tell the customers until after their food was brought to them in to go bags. Don't waste your...
