Jalisco's Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Idaho Falls

Today was my mother's birthday. All she wanted was a nice evening out with her family. So the 4 1/2 of us went here for a nice family dinner. We arrived at 4:25 PM and hoped to beat the dinner rush, which we did there was only 1 table being used. At first the server was great talking about what she recommends. We all ordered drinks. 15 minutes later we received some drinks. When we got them we informed the waitress that it was my mother's birthday and we were out celebrating and ordered her a festive hot chocolate. We finished all the chips and dip and asked for more. 45 minutes later and all of us but my mother received our drinks and no refills on anything. Another 15 minutes went by and we even took a 7 year old to the bathroom and back and there wasn't any drinks or food. So here we were at an hour into the evening and my mother didn't receive her drinks we all had nothing to snack on and everyone who walked by ignored us. It was so bad my mother started crying! On her birthday! This made my dad very angry and told all of us to go to the car. We left to the car and my dad and husband went to the waitress and said "everyone but my wife received their water, we have no refills of chips and dip and every time we tried to get your attention you ignored us. It's been over an hour I'd like to pay for the drinks we recieved and go." The waitress said " I'm sorry have a nice day" which my dad and husband didn't understand and then she left. So we all got into the car, with a crying parent, a confused 7 year old and an angry father. It was the worst service I have ever had. I have never in my life had to walk out of a restaurant and tonight we did for the first time. We then went to the other restaurant on 17th and told them what happened. They said they were so sorry and not to worry about the other place. They served us beautifully and quickly. The waiter was so kind and he made sure to get a happy birthday in and got the restaurant to sing to my mother. The other restaurant in town is the best to go to! They turned her tears to laughs. DONT go to this one. They won't respect you as a customer or serve you in a timely manner. We arrived at 4:25 and went to the other restaurant in town at 6:30. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Hope this rant saves some people time. I've been to this place before for work and didn't have any issues but from other reviews and this awful experience we will not be going back. We will not refer them and with our jobs and network will not send them here. We just wanted a nice family evening and I ended up with a mother crying over bad...

Several issues that I am sorely disappointed with. First, I am not racist in any way. However, when the hostess does not speak any English when most of the customers there waiting to be seated were not Spanish speaking, how do they expect her to do her job? I was trying to tell her that we had two adults and one baby. She could not understand me and had to wave another employee over. Next issue. I asked for a high chair for my daughter. The chair they brought had no buckle and was so wobbly and unstable, it was dangerous. I had pointed this issue out the last time I was there and the same chair was given to me this time. I pointed it out again and they brought me another chair. The buckle on this chair was broken as well, so no way to secure my daughter safely. When I asked for a different chair again, the waitress rolled her eyes and said that they don't have any others. Again, the chair was still wobbly, but slightly better so I just kept my daughter close for her safety. Next issue. I asked if we could get my daughters food out as soon as it was ready so I could feed her first in order for me to eat my food when it was hot. Apparently that is confusing? My daughters food came out with the rest of ours, 40 minutes after ordering it. Chicken nuggets and fries do not take 40 minutes to cook, nor do they take as long as enchiladas and burritos to cook. Next issue. I ordered the enchiladas banderas with flour tortillas specifically because I am allergic to corn. The waitress said that the enchiladas were with flour tortillas when she set them down, so I know she didn't forget. They were corn tortillas. I didn't check before I started eating them due to her specifically saying they were flour without me asking. So I figured she made sure. When she finally came back to check in on us, I told her about the issue and she took the plate back. 10 minutes later I finally got my correct food, but was unable to eat it due to having an allergic reaction from the two bites I had taken before realizing they were corn. I won't make the mistake of ever eating there again. While I was out putting my daughter in the car, my husband paid the bill and spoke to the manager. All they would say is "sorry sorry sorry". We were in town visiting and figured we would go becuase of the decent reviews and the time we visited several years before, wow was it bad service was horrible, food was so bad we couldn't eat it, I ordered the 7 mares and it was so salty I could only eat the shelled shrimp and the crackers, my husbands dish was worse! He had the Seafood Fundido and mind you my husband is not picky at all, I saw his face and knew right away I thought maybe he was no a fan of the cheese so I tried it and oh wow eas it awful! I had to spit it out it had either extremely gone bad or it was such an awful sour nasty taste my husband then ordered a different dish because it was not edible being the nice guy he ordred Camarones a la Diabla which is supposed to be spicy and it was so bad not only was it not spicy at all it was sweet and grainy we were so dissappointed the waiteress askes him if he did not like it and he said no to be honest it may habe gone bad and that the stew was salty andshe went ahead and charged us everything no apology no discount but we did not want to make a whole issue of it and just left diasappointed, we went there back in 2013 and it was decent, now I don't know what happened and will never go back Its to expensive foe the flavor taco trucks make better food and you spend waaaay less. honestly I would not go there I don't know how it got good reviews they must have gone on a good day but restaurants shouldn't have bad days...
