update This is an exact and perfect example of the lack of accountability of the owner of this establishment. I am not a former employee. However, I am friends with a handful of former employees, and I've seen these things with my own eyes and from their stories. I also posted on their Facebook page after firing my friend a few weeks back and they deleted all of those as well. The owner tries his best to keep negative reviews silenced and hidden. I know for a fact there have been numerous reviews on Facebook that have all been removed and the people been blocked from their page. When you ran a horrible establishment with no business sense whatsoever, it's going to present itself one way or another. Nice try by the owner, though 🤣
This place is a terrible joke. They sell the same wine that everybody in a three-block radius at restaurants sells as well but for more money because they call themselves a wine bar. I see the wine that they have for sale at gas stations. Everything there is basically overpriced or not priced correctly. They charge $4 for a side salad that won't even take up the space in the palm of your hand. They charged 14 or 15 dollars for a grilled cheese sandwich with Lay's potato chips , and you're not even allowed to pick more sides than what they've decided to cook for the day because they're lazy. But all of this comes straight down from the owner, Keith. Everything comes from food companies pre-packaged and made, it's garbage. Nothing is made fresh in house... The owner walks around yelling at his staff when he's in a bad mood, and he talks poorly about his customers and the town of Inverness. I've also heard him talking badly about a lot of the other businesses around him, trying to get them in trouble with the city.
Things I've witnessed at his establishment:
*He literally fired the entire staff and made them ask for their jobs back.
*Almost every single female there has told me he's made them cry by saying horrible things to them.
*This local renowned chef, Rosario, didn't decide to leave and move along just because, Keith cut all of his hours and basically pushed him out.
*He actually has worked hand and foot to get the car show removed, which I wasn't a fan of either, but I don't have a problem saying it instead of lying to people about my feelings like he does.
*I've heard him talk poorly about customers and regulars in every way possible.
*I've heard him say racist comments about "blacks and Mexicans"
Horrible establishment with an even worse owner. I would suggest going and spending your hard-earned money at a different place where they care about their staff and their patrons. 😊
P.S. their staff is one of the most cordial and hard-working I have seen in a long time. It's a shame they work for someone who doesn't care about them or even know what he's doing...
Read moreWent there on a weeknight. The chef was outside. Five of us got to meet him and talk with him. Server lacked charisma of serving at a winery and was very flat when asked questions.
Two ladies said the Twysted Lemon Caesar was very good. I ordered the bruschetta to enjoy with my wine. Nothing to write home about. The baguettes were so small, they were very hard after being toasted. They lacked flavor. If they were larger, would've had a better texture. Perhaps not enough oil. Not worth $10 for such a small serving and cheese was extra which I did not opt for.
One of the ladies asked for bread with their salad. The server came back with a cold, "No, the chef does not offer that." We were willing to pay. Afterall, doesn't the restaurant have bread for the baguettes? So, we went across the street to Le Pergola and for $1.50 we brought back a large, delicious toasted hoagie sprinkled with oil and garlic. Very flavorfull!! It was so delicious that we've decided to go back there.
When the chef came out and we showed our displeasure of having to order bread from across the street he said the server didn't clearly communicate to him what was needed. ?????
This restaurant receives high marks and the rest of the menu is probably delicious. Just be aware, if you'd like some warm bread, any bread served with one of the dishes, for now, it's a no. Also, the baguettes are not worth the purchase, in my opinion.
The entertainment is ALWAYS fantastic. I have frequented this place many times but only for a glass of wine. This evening it was a very talented violinist. You would think that would not be loud but he included a large speaker with backup music. The recurring complaint I hear is that for a quaint restaurant, the music is too loud and it is very difficult to converse. We all went outside and we could still hear the music perfectly through the closed doors. My suggestion to the owner is to play dinner music during dinner hours (up until about 8) and then turn the volume up.
My bill for a glass of house merlot wine, baguettes and a...
Read moreWe drop a minimum $100 couple times a month at this establishment and never had a problem until today. Ordered takeout at new place Joe's across the street. While they were preparing our food walked across street to Twysted Vine for my wife to have a glass of wine outside and get ready for evening music venue. Wife got glass of wine and left tab open. I walked back in 2 minutes later to ask bartender if we could eat our food from Joe's outside at their table as my wife was sitting out there enjoying her wine. Was told no because they serve their own food and owner does not allow patrons to eat other restaurant's food outside anymore. That's completely understandable and not the problem. Proceeded with asking bartender what was on their menu. After being told asked the bartender if we ordered Ceasar salad with our wine could we eat our Joe's too. Was told no. So, let me get it straight...I frequent your establishment the last year 2-3 times per month ordering a bottle of wine mind you not glasses and tip no less than 30% every time and I can't sit outside at your table to enjoy a glass of wine and Ceasar salad I purchase from your establishment, along with a burger from across the street? That also is absolutely not a problem. But, what is a problem is the fact that you deny me a disposable cup to put my wife's wine in as "it's not allowed" to then no more than 5 minutes later provide one to another customer simply because he's a local and you know him. That's not only unethical but downright ignorant. The man literally was sitting on the side of us at Joe's and came walking from your establishment back with a styrofoam cup of wine for his wife to finish eating pizza giggling. Unfortunate, because you lost a good customer. We will never step foot, nomatter spend another dime at your establishment. Unethical and bad...
