I was hesitant to book a reservation after reading some of the reviews, but if you are considering Pierre's - do it! The reviews did not live up to our experience and I'm so glad I decided to see for myself. The service was impeccable, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish and the food was beyond any expectation I had. I am leaving a long, detailed review, as a local, because this place truly deserves it. We did the 6 course dinner tasting and were full after the 4th course, but powered through because it was THAT amazing. The portions are half that of the regular size and it was incredibly filling, exceptionally beautiful, and full of flavor.
We booked a balcony reservation for 7:00 and the hostess tried to warn us that it was going to be very hot, but being locals, we thought it would be okay - it wasn't. This was the ONLY downside of the experience. I wish they had a fan at every other light on the balcony, I think that would have cooled us off enough. However, while it was hot, the view was breathtaking! The 6 course tasting menu took us about 3 hours, the timing was well spaced and the time allowed us to watch the sunset and see the stars come out - such a beautiful location!
I read a lot of reviews and unfortunately did not see any regarding the tasting menu, so here is my takeaway. It cost about $148/person and I believe was WELL worth it. They did not skimp on portions, changed out our silverware after each course, and paced the meal accordingly. Living here is expensive as is, so for those reviews complaining about portion sizes compared to cost must not know the Keys are flat out expensive. As a local, a typical meal out costs around $150-200 without drinks, so getting to taste a variety of menu items we normally wouldn't have tried AND filling full hours after getting home was a win. Pierre's is one of the nicest restaurants in the Keys and that comes at a price, but I would gladly pay it again. For the course we had: 1. Butter Lettuce 2. Sautéed Hudson Vally Foie Gras 3. Florida Lobster Ravioli 4. Pan Roasted Black Grouper 5. La Belle Farms Duck Breast 6. Molten Lava Cake. My favorite item was either the Butter Lettuce or the Lobster Ravioli - it was STUFFED with meat! All of the sauces and ingredients were amazing, there was not one meal I would say was bad. My least favorite dish was the duck breast and it was not anything they did, it was amazing, it was just my least favorite. I also removed the sour cream from the molten lava cake - it is a French thing, and I understand staying true to French cuisine, but as an American I didn't prefer it and that was an easy fix. The drinks were strong and very good, the wine menu was exceptional, after dinner cappuccino was amazing, and they even have a cigar market. After dinner we grabbed a cigar and sat down by the beach for a nice end cap - perfect all around!
Thank you Sandra for the exceptional service - she is such a sweetheart and knows how to give attentive service. We will be back for our...

The Butter lettuce salad looked so lively and tasted like that as well. The green goddess dressing tasted so sweet and went perfectly with the lettuce! The radish looked and tasted delicious as it added gorgeous color to the salad pairing with your orange and green! As delectable as it is, I have to move onto the freshly made lemonade.
A few members of my family including me ordered the lemonade. The amazing chef named Stuart Dove whipped up a batch of it right away! This was such a good lemonade for kids, It wasn’t too sweet or sour, but the perfect balance! We got this right away and it delivered to our table quickly!
As soon as the sea bass arrived on the table, I couldn’t take my eyes off it. The cauliflower purée did not dissatisfy, the silky white texture had me locked in. The mushrooms were tender and perfectly cooked. The main part of the dish, the sea bass was so crispy, and the meat was so soft gushing of many flavors.
Slamming in, the red snapper gave me the chills. Perfectly seared on the outside, And flaky like tender on the inside. The plantains contrast well with the side salad. Every greek would be proud of this dish!
The diver scallops did not disappoint! They were rich , dense and gushing with flavors. The mint purée was refreshing yet full of flavor! I can literally compare these to the adrenaline of dynamite!
The lamb chops tasted like the best served filet-mignon. They came with tzatziki. and pita bread which was wrapped up all cute. The couscous was so rich, and tasted like eating all the vegetables from your garden on a hot summer day.
My mozzarella tomato pesto pasta was safe to say hands down the best dish here. It felt like eating in Venice, Italy. The setting looked like it too. The tomato sauce had the perfect combo of a sweet and savory taste, as if i were in heaven. And the mozzarella looked like it was home made.. And don’t even get me started on the pesto, DELICIOUS! I cant compare this to anything better🥰
We ended off with passion fruit ice cream. This was so delicious and a great way to end off our night. I saw the whole experience flash with in my eyes. I couldn’t believe it was over!
Our waitress was so attentive and made sure we were comfortable with our seats, food and more. She was very polite and friendly. As soon as I saw her, I knew we would have a very delightful time.
Ultimately, The view we had of sunset was way beyond enlightening. And the decorations were lively and flourished. I loved the Roman vibe. The rooms were very clean and inviting. I would give this a five star restaurant.
Thank you for reading! 10 year old,...
Read moreYou would think by now we could have a zero star option but here it is…. So some locals told us that this restaurant was very uppty and extremely snooty. However, I wanted to give it a try since the menu looked delicious and I thought it would be the perfect spot to celebrate my 30th birthday dinner. Soon as we entered the downstairs bar I could tell this wasn’t going to be a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, last minute our baby sitter cancelled and we are not local to Key Largo. So I was trying to make the best out of the situation and had to bring my 4 year old and 21 month old. I thought we could make the best of it since most reviews showed it was classy but casual. I requested outside seating this way we wouldn’t bother most patrons outside. Our family got dolled up and I brought technology to entertain them so it would not disrupt the others around us. At the bar we had to ask the bartender for drinks even though the bar was empty with no one around. We had to bring our empty glasses and dish to the bar to be cleared. Not once did he care to wait on us. Once we got upstairs is when all things plummeted. There was some unforeseen weather so we had no choice but to be seated inside. Since our reservation was for right when they opened only three tables were sat near us. I guess less than 20 minutes into our meal we were asked to be removed from the “fine” dining section upstairs and go back downstairs where it could accommodate our noise level. I guess two tables already complained about us. My kids were not yelling, climbing or running on or near anything. Yes, they were not super quiet at the table and it was more my 21 month old son that was causing a little more noise over the 4 year old. However, I can say once the kids food arrived they sat in there chairs eating there food quietly. I have been to plenty of fancy restaurants where people have brought there children and the children acted like children. But not once have I personally been removed from a dining area. In this unprecedented time we all have looked past the price hikes and staff shortages that cause delays with meals and customer service. But at the very least I would ask for a little grace because if I am showing up with my kids it’s clear it was not my first option. I would not have gone period if my kids were not able to behave at a dinner table. All I would ask is from others and a restaurant is for some grace and understanding. Instead I get to be disappointed in society once again for how selfish people are. All I can say is I am glad I’m not a local because this restaurant is an...
