Went to Bonefish last night because we love fish fry's and this time of year you can usually find some goods one.
Our reservation was for 7:15pm showed up at 7:05pm but nothing was ready we stood by the host stand for about 5 minutes before we where greeted. I didn't care I could see everyone was working hard and helping customers.
We where greeted and told it will be a short wait, the stood for about 10 minutes and was seated in the bar area near the door. Not sure how I always get these great seats, (just kidding).
We waited about 10 minutes before our server greeted us, I am assuming they are rotating the bar area I can see her leave and comeback to the area often. We had plenty of time to look at the menu and my wife wanted to leave, but I wanted to give them a chance so we did.
I ordered a appetizer of the bang bang shrimp always a favorite of mine. Its old school and not on many menus anymore, but Bonefish holds on to it. Also ordered 2 specials of the Fried cod dinners and a sangria.
The app came out in record time which was amazing considering how long we have waited just to get to this point. We still do not have water or a drink, just eating the app with a dry mouth. Most have been fried ahead and flashed in the fryer for a minute or 2. The sauce tasted like mayo with very little sweet chili sauce, part of the reason the food is only getting 4 stars. But shrimp was all right.
Wife's sangria she said was dry, probably no fault of there's it is a corporate recipe.
We waited 15 more minutes after the app came out for the special fish and chips. To my surprise there was more of that fried shrimp on our platters, served with tartar, cocktail sauce, and ketchup. It was a good fry on the fish and and everything tasted really good. They lived up to what I have heard about there fried fish special.
Why the 3 stars? It was absolutely no fault of the waitress she was not trained at all. This poor person was thrown out on the floor with out even menu training. When she attempted to show us the menu it looked like it was the first or second time she had looked at it. The lack of greeting us in less then 2 minutes, no water before the app, and after we said we wasn't interested in dessert she brought us a dessert menu anyways and thought we where going to order dessert. When the check came there was no pen to sign lucky I had one, which I gave to her as a gift. No merchant copy of the bill. Now if I would have thought this is just the server being a bad server I wouldn't even bother with this review. But she was not trained very well at all. As a GM for several years and working in the industry you have to teach your staff constantly with weekly trainings, mock tables, and testing there knowledge. Make it fun! They will appreciate it and it will make it a better experience for all. Service is the most important thing in a restaurant. Not saying that bad food will not sink you also, but nothing is worse than spending $75 on a meal for two and not feeling like you got your moneys worth out of it, perceived value is huge in a restaurant. Part of what you are paying for is excellent service. Can say what you want its Canton what do you expect, more than what I was given.

Read moreWe went there on a Friday night 3/7/25 and we were seated immediately. That was great because outback next door had a line out the door. Our server Allison was amazing she was nice and sweet. Only thing was she forgot to mention they were out of sirloin steak and only had filet mignon which is obviously a significant price tag higher. This really bummed me out because I went there specifically for surf and turf which I was desperately craving and I didn’t want to break the bank to get what I was desiring. Well the manager came over doing his diligence of interacting with the tables asking how everything was going. I was honest with him and told him how I was a little upset that they were out of sirloin and it wasn’t mentioned until after we already ordered our drinks and were getting comfortable for about 20 minutes already and they wouldn’t comp the filet at a sirloin price. He actually took the time to explain that due to seasonal changes it’s causing their orders to get a little messed up and they are trying to get the filets pushed so they haven’t been able to order enough sirloin. That made enough since but then icing on the cake he apologized that I wasn’t getting what I wanted so he gave me a free dessert on the house. That was amazing. Then however my Filet finally came out. I had ordered it medium rare (the only way to really enjoy a steak if you disagree you need a shrink) and unfortunately it came out rare and I mean barely rare from raw. It had a thin crust around a very cool red center. They took it back and refried it for me and then the manager brought it back out with more mashed potatoes which was awesome and he then comped an additional $15 off of my bill. The customer service here was above and beyond. For a change my fiance and I felt our opinions were actually heard and taken into consideration it was amazing. I was satisfied with the free dessert which made the upcharge on the Filet worth it and then an additional $15 off was beyond impressive. We will 100% be making this our go to...
Read moreSub mid-range taste at above mid-range prices. Bang bang shrimp is delicious as an appetizer but the amount you get is the price lacks any sense of value. I got the mahi mahi with fries and brussel sprouts. The house salad was okay. A few spring leaves, garnished with sunflower seeds, a couple of cherry tomatoes, olives and two big chunks of water chestnuts. It definitely could have gone without the olive and wc. The mahi mahi was a little dry but tasted great and the fries were on par with most places. The brussel sprouts weren't very good at all as the flavor was drowned out by a red wine vineger taste. They were slightly undercooked for my liking as well. My children got sirloins coupled with various sides. The sirloin was delicious and cooked to order perfect. The sides, again, were a letdown. The asparagus was dinky and lacked any flavor. The Mac and cheese looked delicious but somehow lacked cheese. The mash potatoes were decent. For desert we had raspberry cheesecake and macadamia brownie which were both delicious! The pre dinner bread looked good but we didn't get to try it because for some reason it came post dinner which I'm guessing was just a mistake as it looked like other tables got it before their meals. On that note, our waitress was very friendly and did a great job so I won't ding her for the bread. Overall, the restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the service is good but I can't justify spending that kind of money on hit or miss food. Glad we tried it but the value andtaste just isn't there, so it's unlikely we...
