My wife and I adore Longhorn! We met at one while working their a few years back. Her a hostess and I a server. To say that we are overly critical of every Longhorn we go to is an understatement.
Tonight we decided to go to the Strip and have our favorite restaurant! We went in and were immediately seated even during a peak dinner hour. The hostess was lovely to my daughter and got us seated. The table setting was clean and comfortable for our family of four.
Our server, Emily greeted us quickly and got our drink and appetizer order (Cheddar stuffed mushrooms are the bomb). Emily also had a party table and a few others but she made sure to get our apps and drinks and had another server drop off the bread and butter.
Wife’s salad came quick after we were done with the Mushrooms and our entrees were delivered right after that. Didn’t seem like we had to wait long for much of anything.
Now here is where we had our issue and although I’m giving this Five Stars, I’ll explain why. Wifey ordered her filet medium rare and it came out medium well. She wasn’t upset as things happen. Emily agreed with our assessment of the steak and took it back to the kitchen and put a new one on for my wife. I went ahead and ate my fire grilled filet that came out a perfect medium rare and the redrock grilled shrimp was also divine!
Here’s where the stars come in. It started to go on about 15 minutes or so and Longhorns grill time typically is around 9 minutes or so for a medium rare. The manager on duty, whose name I cannot remember for the life of me came over, apologized and said he was buying my wife’s steak for her. We told him it was no problem and things happen but he insisted. So we accepted the gesture of good will. The new filet came out a hot and juicy medium rare.
This is the kind of service I wish I got at every restaurant I went to. My compliments to the entire staff as everyone was fantastic! Darden should be proud of this store as it’s the best for many...
Read moreVery disappointed...this was my first AND last visit...Saturday dinner time and not busy at all...I understand why now! Where to begin...
My friend and I had dinner at The Strip location in North Canton, OH...I'm 60yo, my friend is 65yo. We both ordered the 9oz filet...we asked the server if the filets were filet mignon prior to ordering...he didn't know, said he'd find out, he came back and said they were not, we asked exactly what they were then, all he could say was that they were steak filets and he showed us with his hands the approx. size of the 6oz and 9oz...we both ordered the 9oz. The server came by the table a short time later and said he confirmed that the steaks were in fact filet mignon. These were the thinnest, saddest filet mignons we had ever seen or ate in our lives! As far as we are concerned, they were not genuine filet mignons! And the flavor was not that great either! Way overpriced for whatever these steaks were! The skin of the baked potato was so overcooked, it was inedible...couldn't even cut through it...had to scrape the potato out of the skin just to eat it! The side salad amounted to what looked like weeds picked from the backyard, except for the tomatoes and cukes...unappetizing and a pathetic! We wound up charged for asparagus ($3.49) which my friend did not order (he ordered and received broccoli).
And the icing on the cake...3 bottles of Miller Lite = $19.47 (plus tax ofcourse)!!
The original server finally brought the bill...a whopping $103.09 for two people retired and on fixed incomes to boot!! Outrageous is an understatement! Especially considering how terrible the food and service was! And yet, we were generous and tipped the original server well...in cash...he said he preferred cash! We will not be back!!
We also kept getting different servers coming to the table...3 different ones...very confusing!
I do not recommend this restaurant AT ALL...I suggest Sparta Steak House in Canton for the money and...
Read moreI placed an order To Go. They called me as I was pulling into the parking lot to pick up my order that they didn’t have any ribs left and asked if they could substitute the ribs out for another entree. I said it would be okay for them to replace the ribs with a strip steak. Not a problem at all, I wasn’t even mad that I had to wait beyond my scheduled pick up time because I knew everything was going to be fresh. Even though I really did want the ribs and am not a fan of steak, the food was good, as it always is. (About once a month my husband and I treat ourselves to our version of a date night where we eat Longhorn steaks by candlelight on our balcony while we watch cartoons.) As I’m settling in for the evening, I notice that there are two separate charges on my credit card from Longhorn. One charge is for my regular bill total and then a separate charge for $4.70. It’s late at this point and it’s been a long day for me and I had no idea where this extra charge came from, so I called Longhorn. The manager also has no idea where this extra charge came from and ends up calling the man who rang me out to come to the office. Then it all becomes clear. I was charged for the difference between the strip steak and the ribs. Not a problem, I understood. I felt pretty dumb for not realizing what had happened earlier and for bothering the employees. Then the manager says that she’d like to send me a gift card for my troubles because she would have preferred if I would not have been charged the difference, and she apologized that her employee didn’t give me the steak at the cost of the ribs. I was blown away at the gesture and the customer service and I was so excited for next month’s redemption trip! The gift card just came in my email. It’s a coupon for a free appetizer with the purchase of an adult entree that...
