The ambiance is nice, plenty of seating and TVs in easy view for sports. I had the combo platter that included a taco, chili rellenos and a burrito. The food was average at best. I couldn’t even pick up the taco because of the grease permeating the hard shell and causing it to fall apart in my hands. The rest was eaten with a fork. The chili rellenos was covered in ground beef and I’ve never had it that way. It was very average also. The burrito was insufficiently seasoned and tasted like a pile of ground beef and cheese with no flavoring. For an appetizer we had the queso which comes in a really small bowl for $8! It wasn’t worth the money. It has way too much white American cheese in it and that was the predominant taste. My wife had a combo with the chili rellenos, enchilada and tamale. Everything was bland. Overall not a great culinary experience at all. However I did really like the Coconut Margarita and my wife liked her Blueberry Margarita. The drinks pretty much saved the day. Thanks to the bartender! In my opinion you would be better off doing more research for local Mexican food and skip this place all together. Update: I just read your response. I will not be back. What would eating there again accomplish? Would you tell your cook that “Rich is back, please do a better job preparing his food?” You need to up your game for EVERY customer not just those who give you a bad or mediocre review. You want a good comparison? Go to VIP in Treasure Island. Order their queso and compare the size and flavor. Or simply try a plain old taco of theirs and compare. Then make changes in your kitchen. After you eat there and make changes I’ll happily return and even revise my review.

Yesterday the wife and I tried Salsas Cocina River City. Overall I would give it 3/5. Pro’s: Atmosphere is festive and vibrant. Portion sizes appears to fit portions. And quite a selection of dishes. A little bit of something for everyone. Con’s: The server while apologetic at times was disorganized and clearly had one too many tables spread across the restaurant. As result the food arrived luke warm at best. We could tell the food had been sitting in the window not under a heat lamp as the server ran from table to table. The food had potential to be great but it was under seasoned severely. I have been to Mexico and ate the food there if this restaurant seasoned according to its Mexican roots this place would be 5 all day on the play. Overall: A good place to go drink and relax while hanging with friends. With a few organizational changes like having a food runner or 2 and a expeditor, to ensure food arrives fast and hot, this place could be the next big thing. I would also recommend changing the sections for the servers that they will not have to run backwards and forwards across, in and out, of the restaurant. And please season like a Mexican native. Give me coriander, allspice, cloves, thyme, Mexican oregano, Mexican cinnamon (ceylon), cumin. Don’t just throw cilantro on it and say it’s Mexican. Shoot I will even take salt and pepper.

I love this restaurant's food. Today I ordered through Doordash and it was delivered to the wrong place. I called the restaurant and spoke with the manager and was told to contact Doordash. I did, then tried calling the restaurant multiple times only for my number to go directly to voicemail when I called as though the restaurant had blocked my number from calling them. I called them from my other phone and spoke briefly and that number is blocked too. Food from this restaurant is amazing but I will no longer order from this location at all. I tipped the guy delivering my food for $9 for $20. I order regularly from this chain and they can't be bothered to give any kind of help or assistance whatsoever. The customer service at this location is terrible. I tell people how great this place is and word of mouth is free advertising and the best advertising. I'm glad I don't go there in person because if I did I would catch a ban from the way they treat people they call customers there. Collins Road location on the west side is fine and I will gladly order from there again but until they change the staff at this restaurant or the manager at the very least I will no longer order from here at all and I would suggest that nobody else waste their money because you will not get any kind of customer service whatsoever you will get promptly blocked and treated as though you are not worth their time. As a person who used to bartend and has been in the customer service industry for a very long time, I know what it means to be a good customer service representative and this is not it. Simply put I would not hire these people to work for me if I managed a restaurant again. Terrible customer service. I can't think of a time that customer service has been this bad at any restaurant I've been to or had a delivery from. I had to call the restaurant on Collins Road in the Westside to get any kind of results and they were very nice very prompt very courteous and promised to put me in touch with the owner as soon as possible so kudos to the location on Collins Road, they've never let me down in customer service and the food quality but this location in Riverside you couldn't pay me to eat there or go there as long as the current management and customer service team are in place. Very frustrating Side; I'm aware they don't control Doordash at all, but they have their responsibilities in this too. The people who deliver should speak coherent English and not only Spanish. That still doesn't change the fact that I was reaching out to the restaurant to help me get a refund from Doordash as contacting Doordash directly is next to impossible. I was looking very forward to this meal I've been eating hospital food for 4 months now except for one meal I've ordered from this local that arrived because I spoke with everyone involved to make sure my order was delivered in person to the right room. I had no communication with anyone this time as my number was and still is blocked apparently. Why? I don't know. I wasn't rude as the young lady at their Collins Road location can attest to when she called the owner and gave them my phone number to contact me after I spoke with her. This is my usual location to order from but as I'm in the hospital on forced to order from this location.... or was. After this, I do not trust this restaurant to spit or worse into my food if I order there again. I was a bartender cook and server at Ruby Tuesday for over a decade and I've seen what others do to food when customers complain. I was a line lead and certified trainer and even before that when I saw someone tampering with food in the way portrayed in the movie "Waiting" with Ryan Reynolds. I saw this numerous times personally and reported every time to upper management which usually led to me being dubbed a traitor for snitching. I've seen what angry staff do to food for reorders or just because they're aggravated. My money is short as I'm disabled and this was a rare treat that I can't enjoy until I'm out of the hospital and away from that location...

I have been to this location a few times and it was decent, I even referred many people to this restaurant. However will not be returning or referring again. I took my daughter and grandchildren out for lunch yesterday the restaurant was not very busy but was steady. We noticed that service was slower then usual, but then saw everyone else was getting served and taken care of except for us. We had asked for chips and salsa literally sat ate our chips watched guest that came after us received their food drink refills within then had to ask if we had a server. When Our server finally made it to us she was young I seem to be a little annoyed by this time people that come after us had received their drinks refills their food and we're almost done eating and we still didn't even get our food, when the food came one order was incorrect no big deal my daughter politely asked if the server was new because we were trying to find some reason or Grace that maybe we were being treated so poorly. She said she was not we asked if we could get refills on our drinks that seem to annoy her as well by this time we were over being ignored and mistreated by our server we asked to speak to a manager the manager basically let it been known he didn't care he was rolling his eyes when we were trying to discuss the treatment we received so by that point we just wanted to pay our bill and leave but we did ask him for a card with his name on it he said he'll get it for us and never came back From the back we waited an additional 25 minutes for him to return with his card because I didn't wanna leave a bad review or discuss this on the Internet I would've rather just talk to the higher-ups but he left us no choice. I am hoping and praying because my daughter and grandchildren are the only ones in the restaurant Dining in at that time that were of the African-American descent and I'm hoping and praying that did not play apart into the way we were treated. I am a huge believer in over tipping because I work in the food and beverage industry but I also see people judge tables or judge people Thinking they're not gonna make tips And this day she created her own reality. I do want to also specify my previous times there we had different servers I never received this type of treatment and had overall very good experiences but after the treatment we received yesterday during lunch myself and my family will never return nor will I refer anybody else to this...
