This place is laughable... there were 6 tables in the entire restaurant this morning for breakfast. Took us forever to order because our server was just wondering around talking to co workers. My husband ordered an omelet with bacon cheese and spinach and I ordered the avocado toast. I watched my avocado toast sit in the window under a heat lamp for a little over 15 minutes. The plate was so hot our server even had to carry it with a towel. When I felt how hot the plate was I touched the browned avocado and it was sweltering. I called the server back over and said it was too hot. And when I asked why she allowed it to sit under the heat lamp for that long she said it was because they took forever on the omelet...
So I attempted to share the omelet with my husband and it was so disgusting. They didn't even use bacon it was like ham or something. After not receiving hot sauce for the 2nd time we paid our bill & left. No sight of a manager or anyone making sure everyone is doing their jobs. This whole hotel is a disaster. Also, would it kill you to play some soft music? We could hear peoples convos from...
Read moreWe spent two nights at the Hyatt downtown. The hotel has a very lovely lobby area and the room was really big and very comfortable. I was surprised to see an old "fat" TV in the room, because most hotels of this quality by now have upgraded to flat screens. Other than that, the room was really very nice. The charge for valet parking was really exhorbitant - $20.00 a night. When we were in Maui it was only $5.00 a night. Jacksonville is not NYC - so that was disappointing. We self-parked the second night and guess what? That was $15 a night. The other unpleasant surprise was the charge for wireless internet in the room. $14.95 per day. Most hotels offer it free - but those which charge are basically usually charging $9.95 a day. The hotel is very nice. The location is cool if you want to hang out in Downtown Jax. There are a lot of restaurants and clubs nearby. I think they are making excessive margin on the "gotcha" fees. That would make me hesitant to stay...
Read moreJust enjoyed a delightful and delicious dinner in the Shor Restaurant at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville. The seafood (red fish) was so fresh it tasted like it just jumped into the boat. The grass-fed beef was very tender and perfectly cooked. The appetizer of a sampling of local seafood choices was a perfect way to start our meal. It was impressive to see the F&B manager, Luke, so actively involved with customers. His collegial interaction with his staff as well as his meticulous attention to every detail were indications of his obviously excellent leadership skills. Our server, Michelle, was efficient and made us feel very welcome. I have not stayed in this hotel for a number of years but the kind and hospitable staff make it a pleasure to...
