Food is decent for a local sandwich spot but the customer service is off the charts terrible. They are inconsistent with how often they actually get an order right. Today will mark the 3rd time in a month time span (eat there once a week) that they have messed my order up one way or another. When they actually get the order wrong and you point it out they get an attitude like you should be grateful you just paid $10 for an average size over priced sandwich. Today I ordered a soda for one of my co-coworkers which of course they put the wrong drink in the bag. (I should have checked it with their track record).. Since its pouring outside I didn't want to run back outside to fix their screw up so I asked one of the cashier girls on the phone to have the correct drink brought up. She of course had an attitude and told me it would take 20+ minutes to have one brought up to my office since all their delivery guys were busy (probably fixing other orders)... So I just asked the girl to refund the 1.75 my coworker paid for the 20 oz soda so we can go buy another one ourselves. Her response: "Since you took the other soda we cannot refund you" I didn't even debate it. I told the girl she lost more than one customer with the response and hung up the phone.... The owner is never present. Might explain why the employees get away...
Read moreThe Pesto Chicken sandwich on brick oven bread is my obsession, along with everyone else in my office. Seriously, you really can't go wrong with a sandwich from Hudson's. They have a really tasty lineup of bread choices to match the tasty sandwiches, along with a variety of other lunch staples. Beware that if you come around lunch time, this place gets PACKED. There is no seating, it's in and out, and the service is quick even when it is a full house. They also serve breakfast, but my experience with them doesn't go past their sandwiches, so I can't comment.
Some of my other favorites: The Godfather, San Francisco, and the Fire Island (all sandwiches).
Great place to grab lunch, especially if you work in the area. The sandwiches are quite large if you get them on the hero rolls, which partially justifies the prices (it ends up being around $9 - $10 for a sandwich). Definitely worth a mid-day visit.
I've been here for breakfast now as well, and quite a few times at that. The breakfast food is good and it's priced well - I think it's the best breakfast option in the Harborside area. I always get a platter, which comes with eggs, a meat of your choice, potatoes, and toast and comes out just under $5. So, I'll add breakfast platters to my list of recommendations from...
Read moreAbsolutely incompetent staff that act like they are in high school. My order was late by over an hour, so I called the restaurant only to be greeted repeatedly by different female staff and being placed on hold multiple times. Then the staff decided they didn't want to deal with my order anymore and hung up. Called back 3 more times and got hung up exactly 3 more time. Called a 4th time and could only reach a busy tone for the rest of the morning. I was very patient and never raised my tone/shouted the entire time, which makes the experience even more baffling. Have never experienced such disgustingly rude service before. Avoid until the snobby staff have gone or receive additional training on how to handle their jobs properly...
