Once again, the folks at Jason's are trying to overcharge me for their basic half sandwich manager special. This happens virtually every time I go there. The special comes with half of a sandwich which includes meat and 1 slice of cheese, soup or fruit, and chips. I noticed the price total didn't seem correct. When I looked at the receipt, yet again they had tried to charge me for a second piece of cheese which I did not request. It's obvious that they try to do this to upsell their services. There's no need for a second piece of cheese on a half of the sandwich. They're already charging almost $9 for a half of a sandwich to begin with, why can't they just bill it correctly the first time. 75 cents (with taxes included) x how many times a day they do this?? If it happens to me almost every time I eat there - my opinion is that they must be doing it consistently. And most people probably don't notice or aren't as cheap as I am. And where is the chocolate mousse from the salad bar? It's still on the salad bar in Corpus Christi. I like Jason's in general and this is very, very close to my house and I love their black currant tea but so frustrated that this happens so often

My girlfriend and I came her on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. We were shocked with how dirty the restaurant was and how poor the food was. Restaurant. 90% of untaken tables were covered in trash, dirty dishes or food spills, crumbs, sauce, etc. During our 30min lunch here we didn’t see one person wipe down the tables or clear anything off. There were flys around the food and plenty of staff working behind the counter. Food. Both my girlfriend and I received sandwiches that were assembled haphazardly, had dry bread (maybe sitting out a while or older), and had toppings on that we asked to not have when ordering. Also my girlfriend received chips as a side that were super old and stale…. We had to return and ask for an unopened bag which we received reluctantly. Jason’s Deli is normally great but I would avoid this location at all costs.

I received my order and was upset. I ordered the Chicken Caprese sandwich which comes with chips. Now, little did I know it was only half a sandwich. It does not state that on the menu when you order it. Also, the picture does not help because it shows a full sandwich and not half. Also, it came with a cup of soup. When I called back at the restaurant, the person who answered told me that it is only half a sandwich because it comes with the soup. On the online menu, it does ask what kind of soup but it is a required option. Since it says, Manager special, I thought it came all together. The person on the phone said they would let the manager know and change it. Im upset because of the portion on the sandwich. It looks like leftover pieces of chicken, like they didn’t have enough for the half sandwich.

⚠️Warning: Watch Them Make Your Food.⚠️

Been about a year. We used to be weekly customers. We never got any sort of acknowledgement or apology for the major food poisoning. We never went back. A shame. We thought the manager was nice too but the damage done by this place wasn't small and we'd hoped to come back at least after an apology. But here we are 11 months later with nothing. Truly disappointing. Based on history, I guess it was bound to happen but the timing required some form of "oh we could have killed someone" realization. Shame on you nasty people. Stay clean while dealing with people's food or YES you can very easily take someone's life with your negligence. Good riddance.

Update 4/2025: Roommate who JUST had colon surgery got food poisoning last night. Not gonna be back for a while.

9:30pm July 25th. Two members of staff were eating chips and without changing their gloves or washing their hands started making OUR food. This is how covid happened. I called them out but they gave me dirty looks. First, no. You don't get to be mad at me for stopping you from contaminating MY food. While I understand you need to eat, go for it. But wash your hands and change your gloves instead of giving dirty looks. I'm sure the event is on camera. I like this place but that was a big NO. I will up the rating depending on how the store replies because I do really like this place. Those two employees were an immense exception. Unacceptable behavior on all accounts except for the good employee who took over my order. ⭐⭐⭐❌❌

Update 1/23: In the past few times, I've seen improvement as the employee I've seen has actively been trying to do better and I'm very happy to see that because we love this place! It's not often I get to return my reviews to the initial satisfaction so this is absolutely impressive. I'm happy to see the positive growth under Carlos' outstanding...

While waiting for my order, I watched a male employee behind the counter wearing latex gloves but handling his clothing. He was about start working at the counter. Before he did, I requested that he change gloves before preparing my food. He said he would. He took off his gloves then he went in the back room. Upon his return, he was followed by another employee already wearing gloves who actually prepared the order for my food. I watched this second employee put the soup in the containers and make the sandwich. Red flag: he came out ALREADY wearing gloves. He could’ve done anything with those gloves before he came out of that back room. I can’t say what he did because I wasn’t there to see but it’s still a health code violation not to put on another pair of gloves when entering the food prep area. I watched my food be prepared. I wasn’t about to ask a second employee to change his gloves, too. Apparently this is how they do things there. They gave me my order and I left the store thinking, “Well, I won’t be back. They’re breaking health code violations left and right and insulting my intelligence. They think they’re serving food like they’re in a developing country.”

I’ve eaten at restaurants all over Houston. More and more often I see this carelessness with the handling of food by restaurants. Food has gotten far too expensive to be prepared or served like customers are in a third world country.

Maybe it’s always been like this way in Houston. Maybe I’m just tired of eating food that’s prepared with little care for the health of...

Hello, My family and I recently visited the Jason’s Deli on the corner of Hwy 6 and FM 529. My wife first noticed the restaurant’s dirtiness when she went to the restroom. When she saw the large biohazard in the restroom she notified an employee and she was told that someone would clean it immediately. Over the duration of our visit she noticed that an employee never went to the restroom to clean the diarrhea off the floor and wall. My wife never mentioned anything to me during the visit because she was still optimistic, but if she had we would’ve NEVER eaten there. Afterwards, we concluded that the restaurant’s lack of cleanliness extended further from just the restroom because many of the tables were left dirty. We saw one table that was a complete mess, including the floor, and an employee did not clean it until at least 30 minutes after we had sat down. There were employees milling about, so it was not an issue of understaffing. After our visit yesterday we decided that we would NOT be returning. This used to be an establishment that we frequented, but started to visit less often because of its decline in quality, but the lack of cleanliness is what is deterring us from ever returning again. It’s disgusting that this previously pleasant restaurant has deteriorated to such a nasty state. I write this message because any business that operates this way should be ashamed...
