â ď¸Warning: Watch Them Make Your Food.â ď¸
Been about a year. We used to be weekly customers. We never got any sort of acknowledgement or apology for the major food poisoning. We never went back. A shame. We thought the manager was nice too but the damage done by this place wasn't small and we'd hoped to come back at least after an apology. But here we are 11 months later with nothing. Truly disappointing. Based on history, I guess it was bound to happen but the timing required some form of "oh we could have killed someone" realization. Shame on you nasty people. Stay clean while dealing with people's food or YES you can very easily take someone's life with your negligence. Good riddance.
Update 4/2025: Roommate who JUST had colon surgery got food poisoning last night. Not gonna be back for a while.
9:30pm July 25th. Two members of staff were eating chips and without changing their gloves or washing their hands started making OUR food. This is how covid happened. I called them out but they gave me dirty looks. First, no. You don't get to be mad at me for stopping you from contaminating MY food. While I understand you need to eat, go for it. But wash your hands and change your gloves instead of giving dirty looks. I'm sure the event is on camera. I like this place but that was a big NO. I will up the rating depending on how the store replies because I do really like this place. Those two employees were an immense exception. Unacceptable behavior on all accounts except for the good employee who took over my order. âââââ
Update 1/23: In the past few times, I've seen improvement as the employee I've seen has actively been trying to do better and I'm very happy to see that because we love this place! It's not often I get to return my reviews to the initial satisfaction so this is absolutely impressive. I'm happy to see the positive growth under Carlos' outstanding...
Read moreWhile waiting for my order, I watched a male employee behind the counter wearing latex gloves but handling his clothing. He was about start working at the counter. Before he did, I requested that he change gloves before preparing my food. He said he would. He took off his gloves then he went in the back room. Upon his return, he was followed by another employee already wearing gloves who actually prepared the order for my food. I watched this second employee put the soup in the containers and make the sandwich. Red flag: he came out ALREADY wearing gloves. He couldâve done anything with those gloves before he came out of that back room. I canât say what he did because I wasnât there to see but itâs still a health code violation not to put on another pair of gloves when entering the food prep area. I watched my food be prepared. I wasnât about to ask a second employee to change his gloves, too. Apparently this is how they do things there. They gave me my order and I left the store thinking, âWell, I wonât be back. Theyâre breaking health code violations left and right and insulting my intelligence. They think theyâre serving food like theyâre in a developing country.â
Iâve eaten at restaurants all over Houston. More and more often I see this carelessness with the handling of food by restaurants. Food has gotten far too expensive to be prepared or served like customers are in a third world country.
Maybe itâs always been like this way in Houston. Maybe Iâm just tired of eating food thatâs prepared with little care for the health of...
Read moreHello, My family and I recently visited the Jasonâs Deli on the corner of Hwy 6 and FM 529. My wife first noticed the restaurantâs dirtiness when she went to the restroom. When she saw the large biohazard in the restroom she notified an employee and she was told that someone would clean it immediately. Over the duration of our visit she noticed that an employee never went to the restroom to clean the diarrhea off the floor and wall. My wife never mentioned anything to me during the visit because she was still optimistic, but if she had we wouldâve NEVER eaten there. Afterwards, we concluded that the restaurantâs lack of cleanliness extended further from just the restroom because many of the tables were left dirty. We saw one table that was a complete mess, including the floor, and an employee did not clean it until at least 30 minutes after we had sat down. There were employees milling about, so it was not an issue of understaffing. After our visit yesterday we decided that we would NOT be returning. This used to be an establishment that we frequented, but started to visit less often because of its decline in quality, but the lack of cleanliness is what is deterring us from ever returning again. Itâs disgusting that this previously pleasant restaurant has deteriorated to such a nasty state. I write this message because any business that operates this way should be ashamed...
