I picked Parry's Pizza for my 61st birthday celebration last night. We had been there a few years before and the food was really good. We had a party of 9 and most of the restaurant (except the bar) was empty. The hostess said that she would have to talk to the wait staff first. I was wondering if they were going to tell us "no". We sat down and she brought us water. I asked about their happy hour menu and she told me that it ended at 6pm. I thought I was nuts because the sign said 3-6 Mon-Friday and all day Sunday and it was a Sunday. My daughter had to read the signage to her and then she said "Oh that's right". I wondered how many others did not question the wait staff and might have been charged full price. We ordered 3 medium pizzas, 3 orders mozerella, chicken wings, chicken tenders a salad and some well drinks. Our food came out a little at a time so we could not all eat together. We had to keep asking about the appetizers that we had ordered and when the dinners were going to be out. The medium cheese pizza came out overcooked and cold. My husband wanted to talk to the wait staff but no one came to the table to see how we were doing. Finally someone came over to drop off one of the orders of mozerella and we told that person. They took the pizza back without any apologies. After everyone was done eating, the cheese pizza came out. It was edible but nothing like we remembered. My family was disappointed that my choice was not a celebration at all. My husband and I had went to Parry's two months ago and had a similar experience with the pizza but we thought it was a fluke. Well guess what, it wasn't. We brought the left overs home which I am throwing away today. We will not be going back or suggesting this place to anyone else. Two months ago the bartender told us that the pizza was wrong because they were short staffed and had new cooks. I get that because my husband and I are health care workers and we are short staffed. Maybe they should close half of the restaurant down if they can't keep up. If you go, sit at the bar, get a drink and don't...
Read moreOk, so we are Parry's fans as it is but today we popped in for lunch.
At first we were thinking it may not be a great experience as we sat down at the bar where a manager was instructing an employee on the current promotion. Not a hi....nothing.
But today's server was the hero! I could tell that she was handling the whole bar area by herself (the only seating open during this time from what I could tell) and it was definitely more than one server should be handling on her own.
I immediately think oh great. This is going to be bad. I was wrong.
This sassy (in a good way) blonde server comes over and you would never be able to tell if she was rattled. Even though she was slammed she gave excellent service and still managed to make conversation with every person/table I saw her interact with including us.
And not just hey what do you want.
Such a stressful scenerio for her I am sure and plenty of opportunity to make excuses but she didn't.
She kept thanking us for our patience (unnecessarily since the service was great and timing wasn't even bad).
The manager did help run food orders so he too sort of redeemed himself from an awkward first impression.
Please keep that amazing server because she really did keep things moving smoothly today without an excuse and with a GREAT attitude!
Without her this review might have carried a different tune!
Wish I would have got her name but the receipt was a generic name (Bartender 1 or something like that) and I didn't want to take time away from her...
Read moreAs a delivery driver, i am slightly disappointed. Once you get to the bar to get your order, they do not act like you exist until you get right up to the counter and repeat yourself 2-3 times to say who youre picking up for. Even when they have NO customers they're currently serving, they always seem to care more about personal chit chat with coworkers and guests they personally know, than doing their job which ALSO includes to go orders and deliveries. I work for the local delivery company, in which all time estimates are MANUALLY set and adjusted by the employees of the restaurant the order is from. I was blatantly told the app lies to me and its not ready yet WITHOUT CHECKING, when the order wasnt ready over 20 minutes after it said it was. Then, she actually checked and sure enough, it had been sitting there ready since it was MARKED as such in the app by her coworker. These people seriously need to do their jobs. It is because of people like this that us delivery drivers get yelled at by customers because they think we took that long to deliver it, when in reality over 80% of the time it is the restaurant taking too long. Have been delivering for multiple platforms for over 3 years and have rarely seen service like I did here....
