First time at this restaurant today (5/15/21) for a late lunch with my husband and my parents. Staff doesn’t wear masks, poor service, overpriced for the small portions. Food was decent but there are better restaurants in the area. I would not return after our $250 lunch of what was basically a bunch of tapas sized portions they consider entrees and our tiny $30 steaks were all served lukewarm and the chimichurri tasted of pure vinegar and kind of ruined the steak. It didn’t even look or taste like chimichurri. Most places put it on the side but it was all over the meat. The brunette waitress we had showed up to our table with her mask around her mouth and later simply didn’t even wear one (none of the staff did), didn’t even offer us water, could never be found and seemed almost annoyed to be at work. The restaurant was pretty empty, but she couldn’t crack a smile and rushed thru taking our orders. Barely spoke to us at all. When I asked for a bottle of water, she brought the large bottle, left it on the table and immediately started walking away and I had to stop her to ask her for glasses. She didn’t even ask if we’d like dessert and just brought the check before we all had even finished eating as if we were at a Denny’s. We didn’t even bother asking for a dessert menu. We just wanted to leave at that point. They seem to focus on employee appearance above competence, though these waitresses looked like Hooters rejects. Certainly not the caliber service I had expected at this restaurant. The environment just seemed unprofessional and unfriendly - a bit low-rent. The young kids running food and bussing tables were actually the most friendly and professional. Again, not even the managers wore masks. Simply unpleasant and disrespectful. I would neither return nor recommend this restaurant. Also, if dining on a beautiful day, expect to be sitting in an incredibly dark dining room if you dine inside. Inside it looks like what I imagine a strip club would look like during the day. We sat outside. Some positive reviews call this a “sophisticated” restaurant, but I disagree. It’s a sports bar with sports bar waitresses, inflated prices for the quality and quantity they serve, mediocre food, and a lot of PR/publicity fluff, and what appear to be a good number of fake reviews. Anyone who calls this “sophisticated” must think Olive Garden is Italian fine dining. Low-class service and food hiding behind branding. Would never be caught dead in this...
Read moreUnfortunately we booked a very large party and had an absolutely terrible experience.
Everyone absolutely loved the food and atmosphere but we had a huge lack in service. We ordered food at 8:45/9 and didn’t have our meals on the table until 10:30pm. Part of our party did not have drinks for 30 minutes after we arrived due to a terrible server.
Here’s a some feedback from our observations Nightshift manager needs to be retrained; He lacks ability to deescalate. The Manager needs spends some time roaming room to see if staff are doing their jobs . We had a lady server I don’t know her name she did great but there was a gentlemen helping her serve who was terrible. It’s not the girls fault as she’s not supposed to serve that many people at a time.
After dinner was complete; and some of the table emptied; some of our party had to ask for check(s) as no one was even checking on there table. They waited for maybe 30 minutes. After they flagged someone, they brought us checks and took there card.
35-40 minutes after they took there card, they were starting to get inpatient as checks never came back to us to sign. Thats when Someone in our party went to check on things. Then a Manager came out and was talking to them at the 1-hr mark with a large receipt. And they devised a plan to have everyone at table check-off what was theirs. And they’d split check. Which confused the heck out of our party because they already had there cards as they were already given there checks prior.
So then a rude manager started mouthing off to someone in our party. Someone in our party simply asked, “why would I have to check off what I had for dinner, when you already presented me will a bill and I gave you my card’; Then he was accused him of being inpatient. To which- Someone our demanded he call his daytime manager.
We would hope that something can be worked out to make everything better we spent about $3,000 to $4000 as a party and honestly a lot of people in our party would not go back due to the terrible service.
We have reached out the contact we have at the woods who is the beverage manager multiple times and she has not responded.
As the event organized I can be nothing but disappointed and we do plan to visit Jupiter annually and if a solution is not presented we will not be going back...
Read moreWent to The Woods for the first time last night for my daughter's 22nd birthday. It was 7:30, not too busy, and we sat outside.
The first round of drinks came to the table and the server spilled my daughters entire first drink right on the table and her lap - Happy Birthday! Things happen, we get it - we're not jerks and understand accidents, but you guys, you HAVE To be willing to make everything right after that . . which never happened. Everyone rushed to grab napkins and wiped up the area and then just left. I had to wait for the server to return to ask for a wet cloth to wipe the sticky off the table and my daughter's lap. (they were just going to leave it like that!) At a place where they actually care about customer experience, a manager would have been at the table to check on us. We never saw one though and everything just kept getting worse.
I have to mention that the Korean Meatball appetizer tasted like frozen meatballs and sweet baby rays - definitely not worth $16 for 5 of them.
Service was scarce and our little table kept getting cluttered. When our food came the food runners were trying to figure out where to put everything but none of them had the sense to take any empty glasses or bottles off the table to make room for our dinner.. I kept having to ask people to take empty glasses and plates off our table because the concept of letting us be comfortable at a clean table was lost somewhere.
When our $70 steaks came, I had to get up and take the black dinner napkins off of an empty table because nobody even bothered to bring our napkins back after they used them to wipe up the table after spilling my daughter's drink all over her. Let me just repeat that part . . as a $70 steak was waiting for me at my table, I had to get up and go find my own napkins. The filets were a garbage cut and the burger that was ordered medium well was so raw on the inside that the burger wasn't even staying together in the center.
This was my first and last experience at The Woods. It's clear that customer experience is not a priority at this place.
.. you could also really use someone to dust for cobwebs under the covered...
