The staff didn’t even acknowledge me for the first 10 min I stood there then they couldn’t find my order. Ordered online and they didn’t even send the ticket to the kitchen until after I got there. They were 40 min late cooking my food as in it was supposed to be ready at 5:15-5:25 and I walked out of there at 6:06. I had ordered this because I had a busy work night and it was supposed to be a quick 2nd lunch break. Not okay it seems like they don’t value my time.
I worked restaurant for a decade so maybe if they had been busy I would have been understanding but they were not full and no wait list. I watched a gentleman come in 20 min after I had been standing there, be seated, and get his food 4 min later. They were holding all to go orders to prioritize the in restaurant patrons. This is NOT how normal restaurants do business. There ended up being about 6-7 people in line standing around for a half our each or more, waiting on to go food.
The place was disorganized and it’s clear they don’t have basic restaurant understanding like 1 person organizes all to go and kitchen orders as a finisher. One person waits on tables. One person hosts. The kitchen storage on the wall detracts from the atmosphere. The fact they filled 50 waters and then laid them on a table and covered them with napkins so they didn’t have to fill waters when people were seated is unsanitary. There’s clutter everywhere.
After all that, the food was mediocre at best because they rushed it out the door. There were 4 bites or chicken in the curry, no vegetables whatsoever. The crab rangoons were semi burnt. The soup was just so/so. Another KC let down. I’ll he driving back to KS for thai now because they have some truly good places that don’t cut corners and treat patrons...

There were some other things that I didn't like, First, when we got there and sit, the server came and asked " with menu or no menu?" My friends and I were perplexed what that does mean? And the server didn’t give us any clue, of course, we asked for a menu. About the food, I ordered vegetables and rice with chicken. What I got was 30% semi-cooked onions mixed with rice, very few other vegetables, and 4 medium to small size chicken. I would call it rice and onions rather than vegetables ( I put aside the majority of the onions and didn’t have them, at the end, I counted them, 18 pieces, not mentioning small pieces that I ate) My friend ordered a chicken skew, which came in 4 pieces, very chewy, he couldn't finish even one piece of it! Not to mention that there was no knife to cut the chicken, and he waited at least 5 minutes to get a knife. We asked for a check, and the guy came and bring a tablet, after pulling each credit card, he put the tablet on the table every time in front of himself and each of us to sign and pay separately, and of course, give the tip ( 18%). I don't mind giving a tip at all, but that way was very uncomfortable and unprofessional, somehow in front of him and you, he stared at the tablet to see how much tip you are entering , like and feel to force you a certain high tip percentage shown on the...
Read moreSo, tonight, for the first time I tried Thai food in a restaurant that serves authentic Thai food. Last night while I was putting a major munch down on some fish and chips at my favorite Bistro, a friend asked me if I liked Thai food. I told him that I had never tried it, so I really didn't know.
He gave me the name and address of Baramee Thai Bistro down in the Crossroads District and tonight I paid them a visit. This is a nice space, with a mural that covers the entire south wall. The street side wall is all glass letting in natural light that makes this space bright and colorful! Sitting at the bar as is my custom, I order a beer.
And now comes the hard part! What do I order when I have never eaten Thai cuisine? I must admit, I played it pretty tame. The appetizer was Crispy Spring Rolls that came with dipping sauce. Fried golden brown, and crispy on the outside with a crunchy cabbage filling, they were savory and delicious. But it was the dipping sauce that made them outstanding. Slightly sweet with a wonderful hint of spice, they paired perfectly together. For the entrée, I ordered Basil Fried Rice with Shrimp. They set the steaming plate of rice in front of me, covered with shrimp, the aroma coming off it was intoxicating! The shrimp were tender, and the rice full of flavor from the basil, green and red peppers, and the onion. I must say, it, was a pleasant experience and a very filling meal!
Well Done Baramee Thai Bistro!
Well...
