I ordered via Postmates so this review is of the food only.

I ordered bitter chicken and lamb korma along with 2 kinds of naan and onion bhaji.

The butter chicken and lamb korma were excellent. Good flavor. Thick but smooth sauce. Juicy chunks of meat. The chicken was very ever so slightly dry but I would order it again without hesitation. Seriously good flavor.

The naan was good and fresh. You can tell when naan is fresh because the dark spots will be crispy instead of soft. They could be more fluffy and one piece had a big hole in it where the dough was rolled too thin but again the flavors we're good and I'd order again.

The onion bhaji was a dud. These were more like bhaji onion rings and they might be good fresh but ordered to go they were packaged in styrafoam and wrapped in plastic. This is bad because it turns the crispy friend dough soft - this is why good friend chicken served to go comes in containers that can breath so that moisture doesn't turn the crispy layer soggy.

Rice was served free with the entrees which is nice and the flavor was nice but it was cooked with too much water so it solidified into a solid brick of rice in the container. I still ate and enjoyed it but next time I'll cook my own rice in anticipation.

Despite my hangups, the entrees we're good and prices were fair. I would order again.

One nice touch is that they include two tiny portions of gulab jabun for free. They were tasty and a nice treat...

I'm giving a two star rating instead of a one star rating because of the "dessert" that was given to my husband and I without our asking. I actually blame myself because we already have a great Indian restaurant, so we should have just gone there. I'm being kind and not stating that restaurant here because I think my review will be quite enough. First red flag( when we should have ran away) it was 6pm and only one couple was in the restaurant. Second that GOD AWFUL color scheme. Seriously instead of changing the name someone should have changed the paint! Okay now the important things: service was very close to rude. Absolutely not attentive or friendly. We were rushed to order, I don't know why because they weren't busy. Second it took a while for our food to be served. The food was NOT good, sauces on both our entrees were watery. I could barely keep the lentils on my spoon to serve over the rice. Needless to say we didn't take the leftovers. Lastly I will say I didn't use the restroom or anything so I can't comment there but the wall of the booth we were sitting at was VERY dusty. Which for lack of a better word is gross. Won't...

Very very pathetic food. Moreover pathetic service. Staff is pathetic and rude.

Food quality: We orders samosa and tikki plate. The taste was no were nowhere close to what is called saosa and tikki.

We orderd cheese Naan for our daughter. They served naan with hair in it and when we have shown them, the stupid manager said we don’t have anyone with long heir. You must have dropped it in it. Some inteligent person in restaurant (if any there) needs to tell this stupid and idiot manager that custmers can’t put hair inside the naan. This idiot manager has guts to through my debit card to me after charging the amount. When we said we will put feedback for your restaurant, the joker who himself is an asian said... this what you indians do. I can understand his level from his way of interaction. He doesn’t deserve a job of a sweaper... forget about restaurant manager.

I wish i could give him some negative stars. Called owner who doesn’t bother to answer. I can understand why the restaurant is in such a pathetic condition.

Will not suggest anyone ever this restaurent even if this is the last...

Pulled up to Mohi Matall and got hit with bold spices and rich flavor from the jump! From crispy samosas to creamy chicken tikka masala, this spot is serving HEAT. If you’ve been craving Indian food that hits every time—this is your sign. 📍Mohi Matall – Kansas City, MO Don’t sleep on the naan either… it’s mandatory. #short #shorts #boujietaughtme #poundtown #kcfoodie #kc #kcmo #indianfood #tikkamasala #samosa #foodieapproved

I really hate writing poor reviews, especially for places I used to absolutely love. Unfortunately, MM has just gone down hill. I don't know if it's the pandemic or what, but now every other or every third time I order food, it's off. The paneer sometimes tastes really odd, the rice is clearly really old and dry, and tonight my Mutter Paneer was ruined before I got it. It's my favorite dish there and I've had it over 20 times, but the paneer literally fell apart or crumbles with a fork. On top of it, it tastes odd. This was hands down my favorite Indian place for the last 3 years, but now they're regularly letting takeout orders leave when they're definitely not something people would eat if it were in the restaurant. It's way too expensive to let it slide. $20 a meal once you add naan. I'll absolutely change this review when things get better. The food used to be the best.

I was very happy with both the quality of our food and service during our first visit to Moti Mahal in Westport, just a few days ago. We found a lot of vegan options on the menu and were impressed with the knowledgeable staff who were happy to accommodate. I've included a picture below from our takeout order - Samosas, Pakora, Chana Aloo, and Gobi Keema (from left to right). I'd also highly recommend the vegetable Kofta with coconut milk - not pictured, but my favorite dish we ordered. I'm already looking forward to returning!
