Update: We were invited back to give PF Chang’s and I have to say it would have to be next to perfect to change my mind from the last experience.
Close to perfect it was! A complete 180 on service and savory food. Time will tell if this will be consistent or not. I look forward to trying PR Changs again.
I truly dislike leaving bad reviews because I know people are more likely to speak up after a bad experience as opposed to a great one... but I can’t let PF Chang’s slide for this experience.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like the staff was rude or we found bugs in our food.... nothing like that.
What made this a bad experience was the food, the service, and the overall value of this restaurant.
I read a recent review that said they would have much rather spent $10 at the local Chinese joint and it would have been equal to PF Chang’s, I agree!!
It’s a great looking restaurant and yes it’s on the plaza so you get all the views and atmosphere you are looking for. For a restaurant in such a prime location, the service and food are far from what you expect. They should relocate to some janky location to match the level of food they serve. Okay, maybe that’s taking it to far, but here are my issues.
My wife ordered the Mongolian beef. It was heavily over salted. She doesn’t like much salt as it is, but I tasted it to make sure it wasn’t that... it was cooked right and the flavor besides the salt was good... but how can you mess up the salt. Rookie mistake.
I had the Chang’s spicy chicken, which quite honestly tasted like it came from the freezer and it had no spice whatsoever. Enough said.
Dumplings were the best part of the meal, but even then they were soggy and broke apart easily. They probably tasted good just compared to our less than pleasing meals.
Lastly, the service was just bad. We sat in the bar area and barely got any service at all. I ordered a drink besides water and I never got it. It was obvious the bartender forgot about it.
When you combine all that and match it up to your expectations of a $60+ meal (2 meals 1 drink and app), it falls...
Read moreNever eaten here, but seems to have a favorable opinion among those that do. I do, however, frequent this establishment as a delivery driver - I’ve had experiences across the board from prompt/friendly/helpful service to times I’ve been standing there twiddling my thumbs so long I’ve debated jumping onto the line and just making the food myself.
I like this place, however, because when I went in last night to pick up an order (greeted promptly, but was waiting a few minutes until food was ready), the young man helping me commented that there have been google reviews complaining of lack of plastic ware, and he made sure to double check and got some in there along with double checking condiments and fortune cookie status. I’m impressed, because while everyone/where makes mistakes, it’s those who learn from them and actively work to correct them that are most commendable, and that’s been my experience here.
That being said, and in their defense, I believe PF Changs in particular has an option to select if you need plastic ware or not when ordering To Go; i like this feature, because unless you’re getting a picnic delivered or whatever, I’m sure you already have silverware at home or there’s likely spare plasticware somewhere at your job (which these days, is also probably your home for real, haha) so it irks me knowing the odds being the reviews complaining of lack of plastic ware were probably just lazy people not caring about the environment, or feeling cheated because THEY PAID FOR THAT PLASTICWARE AND THEY WANT IT BECAUSE ‘MERICA AND WE DON’T CARE ABOUT THE PLANET. Like seriously Gwen, lick off your fork from yesterday that you left at your desk and move on with your life, stop leaving bad reviews at restaurants not automatically opting to pollute the environment just because they can.
To the zero people who have ordered PF Changs for their family picnic and actually NEEDED the plastic ware, ignore this and carry on.
Kudos to the dude helping me last night, though. Great customer service both in person with me and generally, as a response to...
Read moreComing here used to be a real treat, we would love getting dressed up nice and go to PF Changs for a nice dinner. This place has changed so much within the last couple of years and no longer offers a good dining experience. We found the girls at the front desk to be rude, they stared at us the whole time we ate and it seemed like they were talking about customers and laughing. We were seated at a small, sticky and wobbly table. We waited for atleast 20 mins before the waitress came over to see what we wanted to drink, but waited a reasonable time for our food after ordering. We ordered quite a bit of food as we were with family, and there was NO room for all of it at the small table we were at. The guy who brought the food said maybe if we took the plates off we would have room, but i was just confused what we would eat on if we did that? We had hoped to get the bigger booth but the girls said no they were reserved. The whole time we were there no one was sat at the larger tables, either. (It wasn't busy that day and they were slow) the other review is correct, they have cut their portions in half, but the price is the same or more since I was last there, and didn't taste as good. I tried a new drink they had which was also good, but it was 13 dollars and completely filled with ice lol, so I think I took 3 drinks off of it. Waitress never refilled our sodas and we waited 30 mins after eating for our check. I was waiting for my daughter to come out of the restroom and she said the waitress was vaping in the bathroom. We finally paid and got out of there, the chubby short purple-haired girl at the front along with the dark haired girl said nothing to us as we left. 150.00 for a mediocre and awkward dinner. Save your time and money! We had a great experience for a birthday dinner at the Cheesecake factory where they still treat you well at your table with...
