Update: 9/14/24 My family and I have decided to visit a couple of more times. We got the same server, Antonia, each time. She doesn't seem familiar with the Toast handhelds (their smart devices they use to send orders to the kitchen) as she took a while navigating through the options to send our meals through. She also wasn't attentive nor really interested in how our experience was overall as not only did we receive our entrees at different times, but the denver omlette was missing completely and my breakfast had sausage links instead of bacon strips. When we communicated that to her, she looked at the ticket that was sent to the kitchen with our orders and let the back of the house know about the missing omlette and bacon. It came out fast, but with the sloppiest presentation I've ever seen. There was just a cold pile of cheddar cheese on top of the omlette with some lightly toasted hashbrowns and my bacon very limp. Our table also had an empty bottle of ketchup. I felt a little embarrassed as it was my sibling's first time dining in there. Our second time, we got Antonia again. The service was a little bit better. However, the food wasn't. We ordered a Vegetarian Haystack and rather than having it come out with shredded cheddar cheese, it came out with a melted swiss single? Not sure what it could of been. Attentiveness here seems to be an issue with Antonia and BOH.
Original: This was our first time at Andy’s in Kennewick. The building used to be a former Sherri’s and it feels exactly like it when you walk in, but with a facelift of course. They repainted the walls white which makes the inside brighter and feel a lot bigger. They also have kept the old Sherri’s pie case with some pies of their own. The decor and overall look of the restaurant feels very vintage. The salt and pepper shakers as well as the mugs match the style and color theme of the restaurant, which is a nice touch. The music is also some old school tunes which adds to the feel of the building too.
As per service, we had a couple of different servers. Not sure if the first one was a host, but she sat us at a booth. Our second server was okay at most. She was kind, but we did have to wait a bit for some coffee creamer and the food itself took a little over 30 minutes to come out. During that time, she didn’t come and check on us for refills on our drinks. We also had special requests added to our meals, both of which were no pickle spears and added red onions on one of them. They came out with pickles and no red onions. When we asked her about the missing red onions, she acted confused and pointed at my nephews burger and said “those kind?”. I’m not sure what other types of red onions are there, but we of course said yes.
Despite the error, the wait for the food was worth it as the fries came out nice and hot and our meals were flavorful and generous. The other club sandwich that we ordered on whole wheat was slightly burnt, but it wasn’t completely inedible. It was still as delicious. The kids meal was also very adorable since my son ordered a pancake meal and it came out in the shape of Mickey Mouse with some chocolate Graham Bear crackers. My nephews burger was also “perfect” as it was “not stacked tall with an overwhelming amount of condiments”. He said he finally found a place that serves their burgers right. A nice and decent size for him to enjoy without having to unhinge his jaw for a single bite.
Overall, customer service needs some improvement as it was below par on attentiveness to the customer and on special requests made by the customer on food to actually be followed and completed before being served to the table. We will definitely be back as this place does serve some great food and is worth the wait. Since they’re new, the food to table time will improve as time goes on and those 30+ minute wait times will be a thing of the past. I know a lot of folks often came to Sherri’s as a winter tradition and we plan on coming to Andy’s to continue that tradition. I will update my rating the next visit...
Read moreWhere to start? A friend and I were seated and then the server, who we were later told was the owner, just walked away. No waters, didn’t ask if we wanted any drinks at all. We assumed she was the host and just waited for our actual server.
Turned out she was our server and after a small series of mishaps, she finally came to take our orders. Which she got wrong. (We didn’t know this at the time.)
I can only assume it’s bc she was too busy being focused on another customer seated near us because she kept turning to look at him while we were giving our order.
Food sat for about 15 minutes in the window and a gentleman (possibly the ACTUAL owner from description I got later) had to point out to her that the food was up. Meanwhile, the other servers are all busy as heck taking care of customers and side tasks.
When we finally got it, everything was cold and the bacon was burnt. One of our orders didn’t have part of it, but we were willing to overlook that. But then when she finally came by to check on us and we asked for napkins and told her what was wrong, is when she became nasty so I asked to just have the meal compensated bc it was inedible by this point.
It progressed from that point very quickly. It went from me saying I would pay for the drinks to her calling the cops on me.
We will NEVER go there again, nor will we be recommending this place to anyone. It’s sad because the other servers were busy helping people and a couple even apologized to us. Sad she couldn’t be as gracious. Even Denny’s does better.
(Side note: we waited for the cops - we didn’t want her trying to claim that we dined and dashed. The cops also thought it was ridiculous. And when it was said and done, she both tried to add a tip without me seeing and almost walked off with my...
Read moreIf you’re expecting this to be the Andy’s Coffee Break from Pasco, you will be very disappointed. It is not owned by the same people, so you can expect some very drastic differences.
First the service is horrible. It took the waitress 3 times to finally get our order correctly. I don’t know if she doesn’t hear well or if, when she asks for your order, she doesn’t pay attention to what you’re saying. And during our meal she never once checked to see if we needed drink refills. To top it off, we waited and waited for a check and finally had to ask another to flag her down. She still never came, so we went up to the cashier without a bill. Turns out we had to wait longer for “our” waitress to print it out. She was having one heck of a time figuring out how to do it. I have never NOT given a tip, but this time I didn’t, and I don’t even feel guilty about it.
Secondly, the food is just ok. I will admit it was hot when we got it (at least they got a plus there). I really don’t think their ¼ pound hamburger they list on the menu is really ¼ pound, but I can’t be sure since I didn’t have a scale. At any rate, I had a mushroom burger with fries and my daughter had a hamburger dip and salad. She mentioned on a scale of 1-10, hers was about a 3. I would probably give mine a littler higher mark, possibly a 5.
Maybe, in time, they will get better with this business; I truly hope so. But for now, I will pass them by and go elsewhere. Having been a periodic customer in the Pasco Andy’s, I was greatly...
