We came to Porter’s Real Barbecue for my birthday dinner and from the moment we walked in, the experience was unforgettable. Lexi greeted my family and me right away with the sweetest welcome and walked us through the entire ordering process. She even offered us samples of the brisket and turkey, and both were so delicious that I couldn’t possibly choose just one. I had to order both! The food was absolutely amazing. The mac and cheese was to die for rich and creamy. My husband hasn’t stopped talking about the jalapeño poppers since we left…I think he’s found his new obsession! 😁 What truly set this visit apart though, was the customer service. Hands down, it was the best we’ve ever received. Lexi went above and beyond to make my birthday special. She surprised me with a molasses bar for dessert, which was the sweetest touch. But what really set this place apart was when she noticed our kids starting to get a little restless at the table. Instead of ignoring it like most places would, she came over and kindly asked if she could offer them some fidget toys. We said yes! She brought out a whole container with choices mini bubbles, stretchy animals, and fidget toys and let them pick something out. She explained that she orders them on Amazon just to have on hand for kids because she knows how much it helps parents, (being a mom herself). She said she really enjoys seeing the excitement and joy it brings the kids. She had something for all ages. Our kids lit up with excitement, and it gave us a chance to actually enjoy dinner together. That kind of thoughtfulness is rare nowadays in a world that’s always in a rush. Lexi is an absolute gem, and her parents truly raised her right. Thanks to her, Porter’s will forever be our go to spot for birthday dinners. Amazing food + top-notch service = an experience we’ll...
Read moreHow have I been sleeping on this place for so long!?! I am in Kennewick often for work the last few years but somehow have not been in here until today. Mostly because it can be tough to find good BBQ in Washington. Well, I got in right before noon and figured they definitely wouldn't be out of anything an hour after opening, amd I was having a hankering for brisket, so I headed over.
I let the guy at the counter know it was my first time when he asked me if I wanted my brisket more marbled or not, and he immediately handed me a sample of his more marbled brisket. I was immediately in love! It's tender and juicy and it falls apart well all on its own! It doesn't really need sauce as it is nice and juicy on its own and I actually REALLY dig the crust all by itself. But it goes GREAT with their spicy sauce.
When asking me what kind of sauce I'd like, I had to ask what all they had, which is the usual of sweet and spicy varieties, and they also have mustard sauce! Not being much for mustard sauce on brisket, I let the gentleman know I would be in some other time for some pulled pork which is where I REALLY enjoy mustard sauce, and he mentioned it goes well on the bacon jalapeño poppers I got on the side. What a GREAT call there! The mustard sauce is a HIT on the poppers!
I will definitely be back on a Tuesday some time to get me some burnt ends, which they only do on Tuesdays. I can definitely see myself making my way through the menu here! I was super impressed with the food and very happy with the friendly...
Read moreThis is my first time here as I'm visiting Kennewick for business. I was very impressed with the flavor and tenderness of the brisket. The sausage was excellent and the turkey was just how I always dreamed. Turkey is supposed to taste but I can never make it come out quite right! The pulled pork on the other hand I found to be a little bit bland. But don't get me wrong. It was still good. I just was hoping for more flavor. And that's the only reason they didn't get five stars.
They did try be Gouda mac and cheese and was very impressed with the proper cooking of the macaroni. In other words, it's not overcooked like most places do. And the Gouda and overall creaminess was truly worth the trip on its own. I normally wouldn't say that about a side dish at a barbecue place, but there you go. That was excellent.
Really nice venue. Looks like they have facilities for larger gatherings or banquets upstairs which I don't know much about but maybe something to look into if that's something you do.
Staff was super nice. Super patient as I stood there and stared at the menu board for what felt like 20 minutes!
I'll be back next time I'm passing through and I will definitely recommend...
