Interstate Dogs — Restaurant in Kenosha

Lifelong Chicagolander and now transplanted to the other side of the border. I was hankering for some classic Chicago Dogs and stopped at Interstate Dogs as it's close to the house and give it a shot. First thing you will notice is that it's in a gas station. It's a peculiar Wisconsin thing. We typically don't see gas station/restaurant combos in Illinois but in Wisconsin it seems to be a thing. Other than literally being inside a gas station the place is clean and seems to be well maintained. As small area with about 3 tables and 6 seats is off to the side for people to eat inside if they want. I opted to carry out. I got 2 Chicago Dogs and a order of fries. I ate the fries out of bag as I drove the few minutes back home. They were hot and fresh. When I got home I rolled out the dogs and they were completely authentic had all the required ingredients down to the poppy seed bun. They used real Vienna dogs as witnessed by the clear snap of the casing and the flavor. Neon green relish and sport peppers, pickle spear, tomato, yellow mustard and celery salt. Awesome! Kenosha has only 2 independent hot dog stands and after eating at both, I prefer this one. A perfect Chicago Dog...

If you’re looking for a stadium hotdog, look no further! This is your place! The cheeseburgers, the fries everything we have ever had. They are completely off the charts amazing. I know I’m gonna get some slack from fellow cheese heads, but I can tell you that they blow The Brat stops brats out of the water! We have lived less than 10 minutes from the Brat Stop for over 20 years. Of course we’re gonna go there when we want a traditional Wisconsin brat! Not anymore. Interstate has way better flavors and not as many tourists as the Brat Stop. Another bonus is there half the price. We usually order through DoorDash, which messes up quite a bit. Absolutely delicious! If I could give them more stars I would. Hidden gem for when you are craving anything and everything that is not good for you. We had chicago style dogs ,corn dogs and smash burgers as well as fried mushrooms and broccoli cheddar bites. EVERYTHING was fantastic and hot ( we had delivery). Prices are fantastic most items around 5.00 and only .90 to add fries??? Whaat .
