Stayed here out of necessity on a father son road trip in 2022. Being that I was on a tight budget and losing $140 earlier in the week by another hotel we didn't even stay at, this was our only option. Let me just say that this place sticks out like a sore thumb! I'll just say it, this place was a dump! It is so incredibly outdated and in need of soooo much work! They should just take a wrecking ball to it. The hotel looks like its from the 80's and does not come close to its other competition just across the street. Understandably, I'm not expecting a 5 star luxury hotel but they should meet minimum requirements. It felt like you entered the "bad part of town" when you drove in. I ended up paying $128 for a double bed room(weekend rate) and they could not get my credit card to work. That hassle took 45 arduous minutes and it was 90 degrees outside. AC was on but behind the enclosed counter! I had to stand there and roast to death. When we finally got our room, it was not very nice. I found dirt everywhere, mouse droppings, damaged walls, doors and floor boards. I checked the mattresses for bed bugs. Luckily, none to be found but there was trash between the mattress and box spring including a chip bag, used Kleenex, hair balls, empty beer cans under the bed and a dirty sock! Gross! The bathroom was appalling! Shower and tub were filthy and stained. Toilet was clean but very old and stained. Bathroom door had a hole like someone threw a bottle at it. The pictures I see online are nothing like what I saw. It's possible they had a remodel since then! (God, I hope they did!) We couldn't shower because of the bathroom. Just brushed our teeth in the sink and used a washcloth for a wipe down of our bodies. We kept our socks on any time we moved around in the room. The room and hotel felt unsafe. I'm an officer by day and a pretty good judge of shady people. There seemed to be a few of those types hanging around a parked van down a ways from our room. I saw them drinking and going in and out of multiple rooms so, I brought it to the attention of the manager. He told me they were "maintenance guys" and was not concerned. I told him they were drinking beer and going in and out of multiple rooms. He just said, "yeah, those are the rooms they're working in." Wow! I couldn't believe it! I felt totally dismissed but mostly, I didn't feel safe. My sidearm is always with me and that night, I slept with it on my pillow. I know hotels are popular places for "campers" looking to take advantage of visitors. Thankfully, we had no issues with them or anyone else. The day previous, the ice machine wasn't working. The manager said it would be fixed that evening. In the morning checking out, surprisingly it was. He was kind enough to allow me to fill my cooler with ice before we got back on the road. I'll say this, if the hotel was in fact remodeled, it looks decent now but the whole vibe of the place seems very off. When we stayed in 2022, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone....
Read moreThere are so many negatives about this establishment that happened to me during my visit. My room was NOT cleaned. Dust bunnies the size of rodents all throughout the room and bathroom. The metal trap in the sink had bugs in it from not being cleaned. The bathtub still had hair in it. The bedding smelled horribly awful. I couldn't sit properly on the desk chair because I would have fallen backwards. The floors weren't properly mopped prior to my arrival because my socks turned black. Navigating around the property was also a little strange. I booked my room online and it showed that the place was "pet friendly" and didn't explain that there was any extra fees for bringing a pet anywhere on the website, but upon my arrival, I was informed that they had to charge me extra "per night" for having my elderly small pet with me. When the clerk saw that I booked my room online, he said, "They need to change that". I truly do not see how a website that doesn't show anywhere on their website that there are extra fees for the place being "pet friendly" is my fault, personally, and that I should have been made to pay anything extra for something that wasn't my fault. Just an absolutely awful...
Read moreThis place should be condemned. If you read nothing else, keep that in mind. The floors were dirty and were literally sinking in the middle of the room (203). The toilet ran periodically throughout the night. Overall the condition was very poor. The front door when locked still can be pushed tighter to close because of the large gap of missing weather stripping. You can see light coming in all around the closed door. The old A/C unit air filter was caked in dirt, the room hadn't been dusted or cleaned for lord knows how long, the bed was on a wood box platform and I tended to hit my toes on it constantly. And I know there's a no-smoking policy, but the room stank of smoking from years past. You need more than one coat of paint on the walls (with an odor blocker) to cover up the stink. And the furniture... did they pull these out of a dumpster? Seriously. Put them in the trash. They're junk! The bed...omg it's nothing more than thinly wrapped springs. The owners should be ASHAMED of the condition of the entire place. Even the stone column outside the front office is crumbling away. It's just a horrible place. I didn't even bother to shower and couldn't wait to get...
