My family and I initially planned on going to a nearby restaurant that I will Racker Darryl because it rhymes, but it was WAY to busy. So I searched for other nearby restaurants.
This is when I happened upon the name, "Phoenix Family Restaurant," and it was decided that we'd give a shot.
The place was a little hard to get to since the roads were being worked on, but we made it. Walking in felt like we were at a small mom and pop locale and the clientele at their tables seemed like they were regulars.
Being a younger family, we felt a bit out of place, but we were not treated that way. Our waitress was very kind and attentive and was there to make sure our dining experience was to our satisfaction. I wish I had taken her name because I would be singing her praises right now.
The food, which was breakfast, came out relatively faster than we anticipated and it was freshly made. The pancakes were fluffy and my children loved it! I ordered something called a Hawaiian Five-0 which had ham and pineapple, which caught my attention, and I was not disappointed. The hash browns tasted like they were made at home and not from a bag or microwaved.
The restrooms were a bit dirty but i imagine that it had something to do with the fact that the building was an older building and everyone was more focused on the food than rusty pipes on a flusher.

Read moreWe stop at the Phoenix on our way home from Lake Geneva every year after the 4th of July holiday. We chose this place because of it's close proximity to the expressway and the quality and consistency of their food. On this occasion (7/6/22) there was only one waitress because of a staffing shortage and she was handling roughly 12 tables. She also sat us AND was clearing tables. We were SO impressed with her positive and helpful attitude even though she was clearly handling a lot of responsibilities. I wish I had her name because she is definitely worth mentioning here. Not only was the service superb, but the food was delicious as always (not to mention cheaper than eating in Lake Geneva) and our experience was great. We always get breakfast but I'm sure their lunches are just as wonderful. Highly reccomend this place if you're...
