I was such a big fan of this place. Especially since it was the only poke place in town. Unfortunately, since the robbery the service has gotten so bad. I usually only see 1-2 people working & the female that always serves me definitely looks bothered whenever I come in. She’s usually on the side watching tv and doesn’t smile or say anything welcoming. She also gives very small portions. The guy w/ glasses used to give very generous portions. I won a contest online once for a free bowl & was so excited but when I went in the female(only one I’ve ever seen there) was super unfriendly and told me I had to pay for avocado even if I won a free bowl then rolled her eyes. Also- the prices (like everywhere else) have gone up substantially. I now pay $19-20 for a bowl. The same prices I pay in San Diego, CA…Here in Kenosha WI. The final straw for me was today though. The baby octopus & salmon were very slimy (which is unusual). I always get them and this time even picking it up w/ chopsticks left strings of slime on the chopsticks. I got scared so I tossed it (didn’t want to risk food poisoning). But what a waste of $19 :( such a bummer. It’s just not worth paying $19-$20 for 1 poke bowl w/ ingredients that aren’t as fresh anymore & service that makes you feel uncomfortable just from ordering. Can’t speak for the Madison location but Kenosha is a...

I like the non-chain-coporate vibes of the poke place, right off the freeway in Kenosha. It does feel more like a Chinese fast food restaurant inside, possibly because the owners are Chinese.
Poke bowls are customizable, like a subway sandwich, with everything in plain sight. Just point and pick.
You can even skip rice and get mix greens (great for keto). I went with the spicy salmon and poke salmon and the flavor was great. All the toppings were fresh and well balanced.
The only thing is... the plate that the poke comes in is the lid to the teriyaki bowl. So size is smallish and the bowl (lid) is flimsy. not sure what happens when you order to go. Also if you get rice instead of greens, I don't think the hot rice will be good on this lid. So... while I appreciate the ingenious way of not wasting unused lids... it felt sort of cheap.
The teriyaki chicken is also great. Flavors were quite good and everything was made fresh.
we didn't ask for it, but the owner came out with cups of water for us as we were eating. He seems to be very observant. Nice touch!
Not the most generous portions of food I've had, but fresh, tasty and...
Read moreThis place is a nice small poke bowl place located right off the highway by Woodman's in Kenosha. I did a custom regular bowl with the poke tuna & poke salmon and you can get a pretty filling bowl with just the free toppings! There is an outdoor patio where you can sit outside and the staff inside were friendly. There are about 4 tables inside, so large groups would probably need to sit outside.
The only thing that might be limiting is that the portion sizes seem smaller than some places in Milwaukee, which serve them in a big bowl. However, this place is great if you're watching your portion sizing. The bubble tea smoothie was ok, but if you're picky about boba, I would skip. They offer a variety of drinks that complement a poke bowl quite well.
I would say it's a nice place to grab food in Kenosha! If you haven't had poke before, definitely check it out. It seemed busy with people coming in to grab food at...
